If you have little ones in your house I’m sure you’ve faced the mattress stain dilemma. Whether it’s the potty training toddler or the stomach bug rampaging through the house, those stains always seemed to make their way onto our mattresses. With a mix of perplexity and disgust I would stare at them and wonder how to make them disappear. The problem: this was where my children slept. So I was leery of store-bought chemical cleaners and their mystery ingredients seeping into the mattress. But I worry no more! Now that I have discovered this mattress miracle, I can tackle this little problem with three simple, natural, household ingredients.
- 8 oz. Hydrogen Peroxide
- 3 Tablespoons of Baking Soda
- 1 Drop of Dish Detergent
All you need to do is mix these ingredients together and pour them into a spray bottle. Mist the entire mattress. You need to use it right away! Don’t save it for another use–the cleaning properties work best when the ingredients are first mixed.
After 15 minutes the stains on the mattress (along with any odors) have magically vanished! You may need to brush off any baking soda residue. That’s it–a fresh, clean mattress like nothing ever happened!
