As a newbie to the coupon scene, I was tickled pink with my purchase this evening.  I had set my sights on the target beauty deal this week, but hit a snag when they were out of the tresseme keratin products and couldn’t score a deal like others had posted.  So, here’s my improv:  ( it’s is 2 transactions)

Transaction 1:

3 arm and hammer spin brush toothbrushes

In store deal:  buy 3, get a $5 gift card

$5.79 each with 3-$2off/1 coupon from armandhammer.com

making them total to $11.37. +$5 gift card

Transaction 2:

4 -$3.99 Pantene shampoo and/or conditioners- with 2-$4 off 2 coupons ( coupons.com)

2- $3.99 loreal advanced hair care shampoo/conditioner with 2-$2 off 1 coupon ( coupons.com)

2 -$3.94 Pantene stylers with 2- $2 off one coupon ( coupons.com )

1 $3.99 Vidal Sassoon shampoo with $2 off one coupon ( Sunday paper)

1 $3.99 Vidal Sassoon styler with $2 off 1 coupon ( Sunday paper)

1-$10 off $35 purchase of beauty products ( you can text beauty to 827-438) and get it on your phone)

1-$5 gift card from tooth brush purchase

$4.67 OOP, when combined with the toothbrushes, total $16.44

You could also lose one of the items and still make $35, if you wanted and less out of pocket (I just got a little excited).  target also has a “red card” you can use as a debit to chop an additional 5% off.  Our target also has multiple deals to score a $5 gift card, so you could also utilize any of those, barring you have a coupon of some sort to compensate.  my 2 year old just really likes that particular toothbrush, making it worth next to a million in decreased tooth brushing pain and suffering, hence it’s selection).  I think the take home here is that so long as you have enough $2 off 1 or $4 off 2 coupons for items near $4,  you can make the deal with minimal out of pocket expense.

happy couponing!
