Walmart: Long story short, I got my stuff in less than 30 minutes ( vegetables/fruit not pictured)I was at checkout for more than 2 hours with a rude cashier and a clueless manager. They made me do 20 transactions! One coupon per transaction. All receipts are not pictured. 2 Almay pad 1.24 each, 1 icy hot patch 1.48, note books .50 each.
I got overage for the icy hot patch and almay and paid only tax for the notebooks. Manager invented her own policies even when I showed her Walmart’s policy on my phone and a printed copy. For the Almay coupon she said it was a Walgreens coupon. For the icy hot she said only what’s pictured on the coupon. For the notebooks she said they were already cheap if I still wanted to use coupons? I said “YES, that’s why I’m here” lol. For my WIC she said some juice is not included even when they had tags on the shelves and I always get that same type of juice. For my vegetables she said I went over the $8 Wic check. I told her I will pay for the rest. She said I had to do a different transaction for 4 tomatoes! LOL. And at the end she had the nerve to say that they should charge me for the receipt paper ( trying to make a joke?) I said ” I should charge you for wasting my time” I thanked the cashier and left.

Overall a good couponing week. Happy with my savings.

Hi ladies! So today I got a call from the store manager. He said ” We accept all coupons, except those that do not scan” So if the coupon doesn’t scan then they can’t take it. He also said he will have a meeting with the managers and cashiers to explain them the coupon policy before it happens again.

That is great! Hope all goes smooth next time around.

I am having the same problem at Walgreens that you did at Walmart

Hi Lora. You should speak to the manager. I stopped shopping at walgreebs a few months back because cashiers did not take any printed coupons. It was always something wring with the coupons according to the cashiers. Like two weeks ago I stopped to pick up some medicine, I saw the store manager and while I was waiting for the prescriptions I spoke to him. He gave me a copy of the policy and he put his initials on the bottom. Last week I went and did the Almay deal. The cashier said she could only take on printed coupon I showed her the policy and she took the other coupon without saying anything. I might start speaking with every store manager lol

I had the same issue at Walmart today! Was there for FIVE hours and finally left my cart and walked out. The manager tried to tell me that I could either price match OR use a coupon. Not the policy but okay! I was livid that she had the nerve to tell me that I was reading the policy wrong when I was reading it straight from my phone! She argued with me and told me that I could take one item to price match or I could leave. Rudest experience ever!

Hi Lauren. I have noticed that most cashiers don’t know the policy, or they see people woth a bunch of coupons and call the manager right away. The manager think they loose money by accepting coupons, which is not the case. The other day I wash grocery shopping at Food 4less, they accept coupons too. The lady in front of me had some coupons, the cashier before even scanning the products called the manager. When he got there, he told the lady she could only use 4 coupons per transaction she said that was fine. He read the Tide coupon which limits 4 if the same coupons in one transaction. But the manager thought any 4 coupons? He even told her thay she needed to get out the store and come back to use other 4 coupons and so on. My husband doesn’t understand anything about coupons started laughing and told te manager ” are you serious? She has a kid and it’s hot outside” the manager told him ” the rules are the rules” Good thing I never coupon there.

I’m sure I’m not the only one thinking this.. Awesome title & perfect response to the cashier! Lol

lol Thanks Kelly. I usually stay calm and if one coupon doesn’t go thru I don’t fight it. But as soonas I got to the register the cashoer said ” hey its you with the coupons” She has charged me in the past using the same coupons but this time she just called the manager and the manager wanted to feel superior or something. That’s why I was kinda rude to her too at the end.

Walmart is a nightmare for me as well. I don’t shop there anymore. It is the filthiest store I’ve ever been into and the associates are beyond rude. I know not all Walmarts are bad but the ones in CA where I live are terrible! I do much better at Target.

I also live in california in the Valley

I had a similar experience at Walmart the cashier was rude said we don’t pay people to shop here the csm said they were in process of changing coupon policy so she refused all my coupons I got disgusted went home went to Walmart.com emailed corporate next day that specific store mgr called me cuz u have to give your info to email he said he watched the tape he apologized and said if I’d come back to his store and shop he’d give me a $100 gift card out of his own pocket he said his csm was suspended and cashier was fired and I went shopping with my coupons and he was my cashier and paid my bill and even gave me the gift card for what I didn’t spend of the $100 so being honest and giving true feedback helps the stores do better business

Hi Annette, that is great that the manager was kind to give you a call. I do not expect to get anything but I do wish all managers and cashiers were trained the same way so that we expect the same thing in every shopping trip. Hopefully I get a good response. lol

I almost had the same thing happen to me at my Walmart, the cashier said one per purchase, where as i pointed out limit of 4 coupons pee trip, I’d say this was about 5 days ago, first time this has happened to me, but I got lucky and manager told her to go ahead,I’m anxious to see what corporate says to you.

Hi Irene, this is the second time it happens to me ( 2 different stores.) The first time the manager called me and told me to let the cashier know that I would like to speak with her. I called a few hours ago for what happened yesterday and the lady told me she would send the complain to the store manager and they will give me a call in a few days. I will let you know what happens when they call me.

Oh my goodness! Great job at not being frustrated enough to let them mess up your $, but yes call so that they know they are not supposed to give you such a hard time or anyone else and I doubt you will get a gift card but some stores do give them to customers for poor service.

Hi Melissa, I did called and should heard from the store manager in a few days. I tried to stay calm the entire time but I started getting frustated when she keep saying why those coupons wouldn’t work in the same tansaction. (Lies, lies, lies.)

Wow; great job. Your experience at Walmart sounds awful; I hope you consider providing feedback to corporate so they can make sure to retrain the cashier/manager at that location on coupon policy.

Hi Sarah, thank you. I did call corporate and I should get a call from the store manager in the next few days.
I hope they do receive a training. I know it’s their job to make sure all coupons are legit and everything is right but the attitude and the “But’s” “don’ts” irritated me.
