I have only been couponing for a couple months, but I am finally starting to get the hang of things.

I made an run to Target and CVS earlier today and this is the result of my shopping trip.

I paid $18.76 out of pocket for all of these items and got $2 ECB and a $5 Target gift card back.

The breakdown…

Target

Bought 2 Charmin Mega Rolls on sale for $12.99 each
Bought a two-pack of GE light bulbs for $1.89
Used 2 $0.25/1 cent off Charmin coupons
Used 1 $1.00/1 GE Target Coupon
Used $10.00 in Target Gift Cards
Paid $18.76 with tax, and got $5 gift card back from the Charmin purchase!

CVS
Bought 2 packs of Bic Disposable Razors on sale BYGO 50% off, retailing at $3.79 each before discount, total $5.68 after discount
Bought 1 Gillette Shave Gel for $3.79
Used 2 $3.00/1 Bic Razor coupons
Used $5 ECB
Paid nothing, not even tax ($0.66), because the CVS register ended up clearing the tax, making my total $0.00! Also, got $2 ECB back from this transaction.

The best part of the trip was being accompanied by two of my best friends. They just got married, moved to a different state, and started new college programs and jobs. In turn, they recently became concerned with saving money on their household and personal expenses. I am thrilled that I got the opportunity to show them what they can do with coupons.
