My First Brag

I went to King Soopers (my Kroger affiliate) to take advantage of the buy 5, save $5 catalina event.  I don’t do multiple transactions at the grocery store, but I did 4 today & I’m glad I did because the cashier said a lady who was in last night did all hers at once, but instead of getting the $30 in catalinas she should have, she only got one.  The cashier says it’s because they have their system set up to where you will only receive 1 catalina coupon per transaction!  Here’s my break down:

 

Transaction 1:

(3) Old El Paso stand & stuff taco shells ($3.75)

(2) Betty Crocker cake mixes ($3.00)

Tax (.25 cents)

Coupons used:

(1) .60/3 Old El Paso products, which rounded up to $1.00 off

Total for transaction 1:  $6.00 & received a $5.00 catalina (a 31% savings)

 

Transaction 2:

(2) Pillsbury toaster strudels ($4.00)

(2) Betty Crocker boxed potatoes ($2.00)

(1) Old El Paso stand & stuff taco shells ($1.25)

Tax (.25 cents)

Coupons used:

(1) .50/2 Pillsbury toaster strudels, which doubled to $1.00 off

(1) .50/2 Betty Crocker potatoes, which doubled to $1.00 off

(1) $5.00 catalina from transaction 1

Total for transaction 2:  .50 cents, received a $5.00 catalina (a 97% savings)

 

Transaction 3:

(2) Pillsbury toaster strudels ($4.00)

(2) Betty Crocker boxed potatoes ($2.00)

(1) Old El Paso stand & stuff taco shells ($1.25)

Tax (.05 cents) — which is weird, because this is the exact same transaction as the previous one & I had more tax with that one??

Coupons used:

(1) .50/2 Pillsbury toaster strudels, which doubled to $1.00 off

(1) .50/2 Betty Crocker potatoes, which doubled to $1.00 off

(1) $5.00 catalina from transaction 2

Total for transaction 3:  .30 cents, received a $5.00 catalina (a 97% savings) — again, weird because it’s the exact same as my 2nd transaction!!

 

Transaction 4:

(1) Idahoan homestyle casserole potatoes ($1.00)

(2) Magnum ice cream bars ($5.00)

(3) Colgate toothpastes ($3.00)

(1) 6 pack mini cans spicy hot V-8 juice ($3.99)

Tax (.27 cents)

Coupons used:

(1) catalina from a previous trip for a free box of Idahoan homestyle casserole potatoes, which took off $1.00

(1) $2/2 Magnum products

(3) .75/1 Colgate product 4 oz or more, which rounded up to $1.00 off

(1) .50/1 V-8 product 5.5 oz or 11.5 oz can 6 pack, which doubled to $1.00 off

(1) $5.00 catalina from transaction 3

Total for transaction 4:  $1.26 (a 95% savings)

 

So, all in all I spent a total of $8.06 for $48.91 of product!!!  I am very proud of my first grocery store trip with multiple transactions!!!!!
