I just have to share a couple things that happened while I was shopping. There was a woman in line behind me at Walgreens buying Pull Ups, so I offered her one of my $1.50 coupons and told her about the $2 coupon in the savings booklet. She just smirked at me and said, “No thank you.” I cannot fathom turning down $3.50 in savings! My mind was also blown at Shaw’s. I was trying to decide what flavors of Powerade to buy when a women came down the aisle with a cart full of groceries. After she grabbed the biggest jug of Gatorade I’ve ever seen, she glanced at a display of Wonderful pistachios and grabbed a bag. It was $6.94 for one bag of pistachios! I got anxiety just thinking about paying that much for them, so I offered her one of my $1 coupons (since I keep forgetting to go to Staples and get a little bag for free). She chuckled and said, “Oh, no thank you. One little dollar won’t make that much of a difference!” as she walked away. Well, that may be true, but I looked at the stuff in her cart and I had coupons for more than half of it. Those measly $1 savings add up quick! I got out of Shaw’s with 4 boxes of cereal, strawberries, blackberries, a dozen eggs, and 4 bottles of Powerade for less than her one bag of pistachios!
