I hoard my ExtraBucks for days like today. My husband needed razor blades and my stockpile was low after a recent trip to my local shelter. So, I gathered up my EB and started planning. This afternoon I purchased 1 pack of Gillette ProGlide razor blades, 6 bottles of Dawn, 6 boxes of Puffs, 4 tubes of Crest, 2 tubes of Colgate, 2 Colgate toothbrushes, 2 bottles of Irish Spring, 4 packs of Salonpas, 2 boxes of Ziploc sandwich bags, a bottle of Shout, and a bottle of water (I was thirsty after all that saving). That little haul is worth $115.06 and I only paid $4.58 OOP and left the store with $33 in EB. To do this, I used both my and my husband’s separate ExtraCare accounts on four transactions and started the trip with $48 in EB. (All Totals below are pretax)

Whew! That was a lot of work. But seriously, save your EB and use them to make more EB. My family doesn’t pay for things the way we used to and that makes our life (and our wallet) so much better.
