  1. Angie Teagle If you have been enrolled in Amazon Mom previously, you'll most likely not be eligible for a free trial. I tried to do it and was given a message stating I wasn't eligible because I was previously enrolled. (I had it before they started charging for it!!!)
  2. Kelley Everytime I have signed up for the trial I am automatically charged $79. Has anyone else experienced this?

Video: What’s on Sale in November!

We are back with our coupon-crystal ball for the month of November! Here are the things we are predicting (based on the last few years) will be on sale this month. This isn’t a totally comprehensive list, but these are the items we know will be cheap this month!

Baking Goods: Nuts, chocolate chips, evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, coconut, cake and brownie mixes, Chex cereal.

Holiday Staples: Turkey, canned pureed pumpkin, stuffing mix, boxed potatoes, gravy mixes, ready-to-bake rolls, frozen pies, cranberry sauce, gelatin, marshmallows, hot cocoa, olives, fried onion topping, soups and broths.

Seasonal Produce: Apples, beets, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, celery, cranberries, kiwis, lemons, oranges, pears, pomegranates, potatoes, pumpkin, squash, yams.

Halloween Clearance: The best time to stock up on things for the next year. Door decorations, spider webs, candy bowls, yard and outdoor props, plates, cups, napkins and tablecloths, window clings, pumpkin carving kits, streamers, confetti, string lights, Halloween candy-alternatives to stretch next year’s candy bowl supply. Also party favors like: spider rings, erasers, plastic fangs, pencils, bookmarks, stickers, and bouncy balls.

Costumes: Generic items like witch hats, gloves, tiaras/crowns, play swords, pet costumes, capes and cloaks, fangs, and fairy wings are best, especially when you have children whose preferences change year to year.

Winter Needs: Cough drops, flu/cold medicine, tissues, lip balm.

Black Friday/ Cyber Monday: Deep savings on doorbusters and advertised items ranging from clothing and toys to electronics and appliances. Research sales, make a list, and stick to it for the best results.

Why Couponers Buy So Much—Stockpile Basics

Heather.Wheeler
Why Couponers Buy So Much—Stockpile Basics

Ever wondered if you have to build a stockpile in order to coupon successfully?! We say yes! The principle of “stockpiling” is simple. When something becomes free or cheap with a coupon (and sale), buy more than one to keep on hand.  This way, you are dictating the price you’ll pay instead of finding yourself out of toilet paper and paying full price on a Monday at midnight!

Watch our video for more tricks and tips!

  1. jennifer i was bummed to find out after 3 prescriptions refilled i did not get any points..they told me because i have a state medical card i do not qualify for points.
  2. jessonica I completely agree about "getting creative" with your space. We have a TINY house...1 bed, 1 bath, 1 office, living room and as I call it... the "hallway kitchen". I have gotten really creative with the closet in the bedroom for example...its a 2 sided closet...you know... the type that has 2 sliding mirrors side by side. I had my husband build shelves going across from the wall that separates the section in the middle between the two doors....to the back wall of the closet...there are 6 shelves that start at the bottom and go to the ceiling....Then, you know how your clothes hang and there is space below them and the floor....imagine the plastic stackable tubs of draws stacked to the point that the clothes touch the top drawers....every tub is a separate organized stash of stock. I still have room for the laundry basket, my shoes and everything! I can close the doors and you would not know that I've utilized just about every square inch in that closet. I LOVE to get creative with organizing :)

Video: What’s on Sale in October!

Can you believe it’s already October!? We are back with our coupon-crystal ball! Here are the things we are predicting (based on the last few years) will be on sale for the month of September. This isn’t a totally comprehensive list, but these are the items we know will be cheap this month!

Halloween Restaurant Deals: We will see lots of freebies and deals at restaurants for Halloween. We are hoping to see deals at Starbucks, TGI Fridays, Applebee’s, Krispy Kremes, IHOP, Build A Bear, and Restaurant.com.

Halloween Candy and Costumes: The best time to buy costumes is the week or two before Halloween. It typically pays to wait until after October 20th to start shopping. We see great printable coupons for candy the week of Halloween as well.

Baking Sales: October begins the sales on cooking and baking items that will continue through Christmas. Remember to get your cupboards stocked for the whole year over the next 90 days. Examples of items include: chocolate chips, pie crusts, canned pumpkin, sugar, cream cheese and more.

National Seafood Month: Look out for sales on all things seafood, fresh and frozen.

Versatile ‘Nuts’: Video Proof that Joanie and Heather are Krazy and Coconut Oil Rocks!

Versatile ‘Nuts’: Video Proof that Joanie and Heather are Krazy and Coconut Oil Rocks!

Coconut isn’t a nut. Joanie and I, on the other hand, are a couple of nuts! Here’s video proof!

Many a Krazy Coupon Lady contributor and reader have celebrated the virtues of coconut oil in cooking, on skin, in hair and around the home. So Joanie and I decided to try out some of these tips firsthand and capture it all on video.

The result is a funny, informative look at how to use coconut oil as a leave-in conditioner, eye makeup remover, glass cleaner, cuticle moisturizer and more.

Want a few other ways to use coconut oil?  Try these articles:

When you sign up for Vitacost through this link, you’ll receive a free $10.00 credit to spend on Coconut Oil (or anything else)! Check out this article for all the details of the Vitacost offer.

The Survey Says. . .

Use a tablespoon of coconut oil to boost your energy. Basically, it’s nature’s power-bar boost.
Verdict: Gross. And we didn’t notice a boost in energy.

Use coconut oil as a lotion.
Verdict: Greasy and short lived.

Use coconut oil as an eye makeup remover.
Verdict: It worked, especially if you use it before you wash your face. But, we wouldn’t recommend that you try this on-camera.

Use coconut oil as a cuticle softener.
Verdict: This also worked great!

Use coconut oil mixed with baking soda as Goo-Be-Gone.
Verdict: This will work if there is just a little grimy residue.  We were trying to remove an entire sticker, and it didn’t work.

Use coconut oil as a deep conditioner.
Verdict: When used on dry hair, this works great! Leave it on for one hour or overnight!

  1. The Krazy Coupon Lady Thanks for setting us straight!
  2. Josefa Pena I use olive oil as my lotion. The trick I use to make it not greasy after applying is..... to rub it on while skin is still wet before getting out of the shower. Then towel dry to get any excess. then you have all day fresh skin! I have ezcema and this works wonders for me. I bet you can do the same method with the coconut oil.

  1. Dayna I do this as well. I usually end up buying clearanced crayons, markers and/or backpacks and donating them at Christmas. I was hoping that everything would go on a massive clearance at Target so I could pick up tons and tons of items and start a box to donate school supplies next school year. I have my fingers crossed for 90%, but I'm sure that won't happen, so I'm hoping for 70% off! Does anyone even know if school supplies go 90% off at Target?
  2. Dayna I have taken smaller items like paper clips, binder clips, etc. and have put them in cute tin candle holders and put them on my desk. I have bought these on clearance at Target and at Bath and Body works from their semi annual sale. It's a cute display to have all of your odds and ends on your desk instead of trying to find them in a drawer! I could spend all day pinning and making things from Pinterest...highly addicting!

  1. Never feel bad for saving money! Who cares if the cashiers don't like your couponing. Aren't they getting paid the same if they scan your coupons or not? Please don't stop because some cashier gives you a look. Keep your head up and be proud that you are saving money in a terrible economy. When people ask me why I coupon or give me a hard time at check-out, I tell them I have 3 people at home to feed and next to no money. What other choice do I have but to use coupons?
