Work Wonders on Out of Control Finances with Credit Sesame

Joanie.Demer

I went to the ATM this morning and it said “insufficient funds.”

I’m wondering is it them or me?

That’s a joke. But personal finances aren’t. So many families are struggling now.  Credit Sesame is a free personal finance, credit and debt management system. There is no trial period and no credit card required to sign up. The service is truly free.

The program gives consumers an instant view of their credit, Experian credit score and a debt analysis with personalized offers.

Credit Sesame is free, but it must make a profit. So it sends consumers sponsored offers for mortgage refinancing, credit cards, loans and the like. The easiest way to keep the service free is to avoid those offers.

Here’s how to sign up:

  • Visit the Credit Sesame website.
  • Click on the yellow “Sign up” button, right upper corner.
  • Enter personal information and click the “Sign up” button again. Remember to use your legal name. Common names prompt identifying questions from your credit report.
  • Information required includes annual income and Social Security number. The site is secure and guarantees privacy.

KCL readers say Credit Sesame is a great place to get a handle on troubled finances. If the program doesn’t fit your needs, cancel it at any time without any obligation. One reader touted the site’s “What If” device, which allows consumers to see their financial life with a better credit score. What a great tool for setting financial goals!

Remember, the credit score is limited to Experian only. Financial experts say to look at the reports from all three credit reporting bureaus every year. The financial advice on the site is somewhat limited. Credit balances may lag 30 days behind, based on credit card company reporting.

Never miss a coupon, deal or freebie again!
