“Kids eat free” is one of my favorite phrases. Restaurants that offer these weekly events will forever receive my gratitude. Whether they provide this service to bring more patrons in or because they need to get rid of their own stockpile—whatever the reason, moms like me love it. And because I understand that convenience is king during busy weeknights, here’s a handy little guide to restaurants that love kids. As usual, be sure to double check with your local branch for accuracy and details before inviting all the neighbor’s kids to come along.

  • Applebee’s: Kids eat free on Monday and Tuesday nights at select restaurants. One free child entree per visit; however, it’s only $1.00 for additional kids’ meals.
  • Chili’s: 2 children’s entrees per adult meal purchase.
  • FuddruckersKids 12 and under can choose anything from the kids’ menu for just $.99 on Mondays and Tuesdays. Their meal includes a drink.
  • Golden Corral5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, kids under 10 eat free with adult meal purchase.
  • IHOP4 p.m. to 8 p.m., kids under 12 eat free with adult meal purchase.

IHOP no longer does kids eat free anymore. We went on Sunday and the server said they did away with it. Used to be 4-9pm daily. (Clearwater, FL)

Qdoba in Michigan said it’s a local promotion only…there is no corporate Qdoba kids-eat-free promo on any days… (sad!)

Not all Chick-fil-As offer the free kid’s meals. Please check your current location to see if this is a promotion they offer. Every CFA is privately owned and operated and makes their own decisions on which promotions they offer.

Fazoli’s has family day on Tuesdays… Kids eat free on dine in from 3-9pm, 1 per adult. They also have a balloon guy, coloring station, and awesome servers… Not sure if it’s regional or not, but in Indiana, this is what we do!

The Friendlys near me has $1.99 stage 1 kids meals on Wednesdays.  Not quite free but still a great deal for drink, meal, and ice cream.

I was wondering if you can use theses deals in the drive-thru at places like Tropical Smoothie and Chik-fil-a? It would be nice to pick it up and carry to the park for a picnic…if it ever warms up that is!   ; )

Not all Chick-fil-As offer this deal on Tuesdays. Check your location.

Dickeys BBQ has Kids Eat Free on Sunday.  I think it may be limited to 2 kids per paying adult.

Qdoba must be regional, they don’t do this in the Denver metro area.

Thanks for this post. Sometimes I just want to go eat out, but the thought of how much money we spend on a family of six makes you chose your mind.

    • edandmelly says:

      Oops change.

      • Waterproof Penguin says:

Lol, I thought that it was supposed to be "makes you lose your mind". Depending on how young your kids are, many restaurants won’t really care if you bring extra food for the kids. For instance, if I go out for pizza, I bring along some carrot sticks and apple slices, which I have my son eat before the pizza is ready. I often pack a bottle of water or juice for him too. To some people, that sounds way too "cheapo". But aside from saving on money, I think it’s always best that he eats CLEAN fresh food from home. By fresh food, I mean cut up fruit and veggies that are not cooked. If you know anyone in the restaurant industry, just ask them how they handle salads.

I know exactly what you mean. A family of 6 is too expensive anyway, let alone when eating out! My kids eat me out of house and home as it is so there is rarely any money to enjoy eating out, even when today is your birthday.
