Weekly Internet Airfares: Roundtrip Prices from $164

School’s back in session; the leaves are starting to turn (at least in my neck of the woods) and we (finally!) have a good selection of Internet airfare specials after weeks of slim pickings.

Many of the largest airlines in the United States offer weekly, online-only fares, perfect for quick weekend getaways.

For travel novices, these Internet deals are last-minute airfare specials offered each Tuesday for travel on the upcoming weekend. Most fares are non-refundable and must be purchased immediately, but these specials often represent significant savings over advance purchase fares.

United Airlines — Dozens of Internet specials this week, mostly to or from their hubs in Houston, Newark, Chicago, Cleveland and Denver. Purchase before 11:59 p.m. (EDT) September 14. Departures after 7 p.m. on September 14 or anytime September 15 and return on Monday, September 17 or Tuesday, September 18.  Taxes and airport fees are additional.  This week's fares include:

• Chicago to Raleigh – $221
• Chicago to Toronto – $240
• Cleveland to Montreal – $240
• Denver to San Francisco – $271
• Los Angeles to New Orleans – $321
• Newark to Quebec City – $240

US Airways — There are no US Airways Web deals for this week.

Delta Airlines Web Deals — Purchase Delta Web deals by 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on September 15 for travel departing anytime September 15 and returning on September 18 or September 19. Highlights include:

• Atlanta to Orange County, CA – $320
• Detroit to Boston – $220
• Atlanta to Nashville – $160
• Cincinnati to Minneapolis – $220
• Indianapolis to New York City – $220
• Los Angeles to Orlando – $320
• New York City to Miami – $240

American Airlines Net Fares – Specials for both this weekend and for next weekend. These must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. (CST) on September 14. For this weekend’s specials, you can travel September 14 after 7 p.m. or anytime September 15 and return September 17 or September 18. For next weekend’s specials, you can travel September 21 after 7 p.m. or anytime on September 22 and return September 24 or September 25. Highlights include:
