Remember when we asked for reader’s tips and pics for stockpiling?! (you can see the original post HERE)… Well, here are my faves: Feel free to leave comments with extra tips or questions!
FREE 5 Gallon Buckets & Practically FREE Can Rotators!
This photo from KCL Caroline is an instant favorite for so many reasons! First, if you’ll notice she has CAN ROTATORS!! Can Rotators are the envy of Krazy Coupon Ladies everywhere! Here is what Caroline had to say about them:
I think one of the best things in my closet though are the cardboard can rotators which are virtually free to make. You use cardboard boxes, wood glue and I used $1.00 “Oops” paint from Home Depot. They work great! You can get the pattern HERE.
Also, she has 5 Gallon Buckets which are great for storing your baking ingredients, wheat, ect. Caroline writes:
The second best thing are the bakery 5 gallon buckets. I got all of them free at the Wal-Mart bakery. I just called to see if they had any available and they told me when to pick them up! I keep my rice, beans, wheat, etc. in there, but you could keep anything in there.
Now, Caroline has given us lots of great tips… the best though, is this tip (which I am still laughing about):
Shh, don’t tell my husband, but when I stock up on pop-tarts, cookies and other sweet treats, I hide them under my side of the bed. 🙂
This is a PERFECT idea for anyone on a limited budget and in need of shelving. I about fell out of my seat when I saw this! These are courtesy of KCL Meghan who had this to say:
It is double ply cardboard boxes that we got from the pet store (they were going to through them away) the flaps are cut off, and just stacked on their side. Usually there is more in them, but this is a pic from when we first started couponing 😉
Anyone else have cardboard box envy!?! Thanks Meghan!
Utilize ALL your space
Now, this seems like a simple point to bring up, but I am sure many of us aren’t utilizing all the space we could be. If you just stack your cereal all the way to the ceiling, you’ve instantly created room for at least double the cereal! Thanks to KCL Elizabeth for this reminder!
Here are a few more krazy tips:
- Use Pegboard to create a mini store for toiletries and things you can hang! These can hang on the inside of a door, in a pantry or basement.
- Invest in an extra fridge and freezer
- look for craigslist for FREE or cheap shelving
- consider moving to a new house with an entire basement JUST because your stockpile has outgrown your current house! 🙂
We received LOTS more pictures, and I wish I could share them all here, but there’s just not room. Instead they’ve all been uploaded to our KCL fan page on Facebook, so head on over there to continue this krazy discussion!
Thanks to all our readers who emailed us tips and pics! You guys are the best!
