Extreme Couponing Tip: Hungry at the Store
A basic but often overlooked word of advice: Don’t shop hungry!
When you shop on an empty stomach, you are very likely to overspend and buy more than you need (or at least have on your list). You’ll be prone to purchase superfluous items which often are not on sale, don’t have a coupon, and are full price. Impulse food buys also tend to be more processed and unhealthy.
Make sure to go shopping after you eat or bring along a snack to munch on (this is especially important if you have kids in tow). Also remember to tote around a water bottle or stop by the drinking fountain to avoid those oh-so-tempting chilled beverages at checkout.
The same may be said for not shopping after a huge meal. You may skip things on your list that you need simply because it doesn’t sound good when you’re super full.
