I love to shop, but now that I have kids, I don’t have as much time or money. I’ve found several great apps for my iPhone that help me make the most out of my Holiday shopping trips!

RedLaser  – This program allows me to scan or hand enter a product’s barcode. Once entered, it searches for all stores that carry the item and the associated price. I’m able to save my searches and refresh them at any time to find the updated prices. I can also email the list to my husband so that he can click on an item to see the results while he’s shopping for the kids on his lunch break! Go to RedLaser.com to find out how to get this app.

CardStar – I love this app! It lets me input or scan my store loyalty or discount cards so that I don’t need to carry the cards. I can also click on each store to get the scannable barcode, the store’s contact information, a location finder, and current deals. By using this app, I was able to get rid of 25 cards!! I can’t tell you how many times I walked out of a store because I didn’t have the store’s loyalty card with me, and now I don’t have to worry about it!

GeoQpons – It seems that I’m always pulling out this app! It lists about 150 national stores and their coupons. You can scroll through the alphabetical store list or search by store name. Once you find the store you want, click on the store name to view the available coupons. It’s even possible to save favorite stores for easy access. There’s also a section for local stores. The number of available stores varies by area, but, to give you an idea, there are about 190 local stores in my area. I absolutely love being able to walk into Bath & Body Works without a paper coupon and show them the coupon code on my app. It’s so easy!

BlackFriday – By far, this is my favorite app for the Christmas shopping season! This app pulls all published store sales and lists them by store or by categories (i.e. books, CDs, toys). I can easily click on any store to see the sale items and the price. When I drill into a particular item, I see what other stores carry this item and at what price. I am also able to click on an item to go to the store website to view the details and buy the item, or I can share the deal via Facebook, Twitter, or email. I can also add it to my personal list which enables me to email it or to keep checking for updated sale prices. It’s a fantastic way to keep track of presents! And just so you know, the app name, BlackFriday is a bit misleading. Yes, it’s a great Black Friday tool, but it continues to be just as useful after Black Friday! I use this app the whole way through Christmas!

Grocery IQ – This is such an easy, streamlined way to organize shopping lists and online coupons. When I first logged in, I created an account and input my store savings cards. I added my favorite stores to my store list and either hand input or scanned the items I needed to add to my list. Afterwards, I clicked on the Coupons tab (powered by coupons.com) and selected the coupons I wanted so that I could print them (you can also email them and then print them). Next, I went to the Savings Card section and added coupons to my Safeway account so that the coupons would automatically apply when I used my Safeway card. Another nice feature is the List Sharing which allows me to send an invitation for my husband to share my list. That way, if one of us shops, we can check the item off of our list. With the craziness of the Holiday Season, this app is going to come in very handy this year!

Using these apps last Christmas saved me countless hours by not having to go to multiple stores to comparison shop. Give these apps a try! They will keep you organized and help you get the best deals.
