Extreme Couponing Tip: Practice Patience For Bigger Savings!

One of the most important (yet hardest to practice!) tenets of the Krazy Couponer is patience. It is a virtue, after all.

Many beginners get a coupon and rush out to the store to use it, regardless if the item is on sale or not. Seasoned veterans know better. They wait.

Rock Bottom: Learn what items typically go on sale every month by checking out the Sale Cycles. Stock up when items go on sale and you won’t have to pay full price later.

Rebate Wait: Rebate payments can take a few weeks to arrive. But they’re worth the wait because they help you save in the long run.

Expiration Dates: Most coupons expire within three months of issue. That’s plenty of time to wait for a great sale to use the coupon. Don’t worry, though, if a sale never materializes. Coupons, like fashion, are cyclical. That means you are likely to see it again! Don’t feel pressure to use it until the time is right.

Season Right: Wait to buy items until they are in season and generally at the lowest price. Waiting is difficult, but crucial. For example, watermelon and raspberries might sound great in the winter but wait until summer. Instead, buy and enjoy what is on sale, such as oranges and pomegranates.
