With the holidays upon us, taking hours to coupon isn’t very feasible. Here are some ways to speed things up so you can spend more time celebrating the season!

1. Get It Together

Find the coupon organization method that works best for you. Here at KCL, we highly recommend the binder method. Check out this video for step-by-step instructions on how to get ready and organize a binder by category or by date.

2. Don't Delay Cutting

Clip and organize coupons as they arrive or on one day each week. Don’t let inserts and booklets stack up in huge piles. It creates stress and takes up blocks of time. Get older kids to help out, clip while watching television at home, or clip while the kids are playing.

3. eCoupons

Upload these coupons electronically to a store loyalty card, and they will apply automatically at checkout when the card is swiped. They can be loaded and used one time per card. There's no need to clip and file these because several can be added within seconds! Find out more about eCoupons and how to use them here.

4. Expireds

Find a system that works best to keep current coupons in and expireds out. Whether it’s at the end of every week before inserting new clipped coupons or the first day of every month, rotating out unused coupons will create space. Check out this video to learn how to donate unused and expired coupons to military families overseas.

5. Plan It Out

Planning shopping trips in advance saves time in the long run! Check out The Krazy Coupon Lady website or a regional blog for local store ads and coupon matchups. Write down the best deals and what the family needs, and pull the coupons necessary ahead of time. Try putting each store’s coupons inside individual envelopes labeled with the store name or into individual baseball card sleeves.
