It’s that time of year again, ladies! Time to start back-to-school shopping! This year, in addition to the back-to-school deals we share every Sunday (and in lieu of back-to-school videos), we’re publishing this weekly post—a best-of B2S shopping list! Follow this guide every week and you’ll have more than enough school and office supplies to last the rest of the year!

Office Depot

This same dispenser sells for $7.88 at Walmart. Great teacher gift!

OfficeMax

Schoolio Paper Folders $0.01

After Minimum $5.00 Purchase, Excluding Max Value Items, Limit 10

Our stock-up price for paper folders is $0.10 and under. Last year these were $0.01 twice at Office Depot and once at Staples. Since this penny price requires a minimum $5.00 purchase, we recommend you purchase the Multipurpose paper for $6.99 to reach the spend threshold. Remember, you’ll receive a $6.98 MaxPerks Reward for the paper.

OfficeMax School Glue, 4 oz $0.01

After Minimum $5.00 Purchase, Excluding Max Value Items, Limit 10

Never pay over a quarter for liquid school glue! Last year, we saw 4 oz school glue for under a penny twice and three more times for under $0.25.

OfficeMax 8.5×11 Multipurpose Paper, 500 sheets $6.99
Buy 1, Receive $6.98 MaxPerks Bonus Rewards, Limit 2
Pay $6.99, Receive $6.98 MaxPerks Rewards
Final Price: $0.01

We’re seeing a shift away from rebates this year. Stores like OfficeMax are introducing more “Rewards” offers: Buy X, Receive $X Rewards off a future purchase.

Schoolio Blunt Scissors, 5 inch, 2 pk $1.00

We only saw kid scissors drop below $0.50 a pair once last summer. So, it’s safe to assume, this price is just about as good as it’s going to get.

OfficeMax 14-Month Academic Year Deskpad Calendar $8.99
Includes $50.00 Worth of Coupons
Buy 1, Receive $8.98 MaxPerks Bonus Rewards, Limit 2

Pay $8.99, Receive $8.98 MaxPerks Bonus Rewards
Final Price: $0.01

This is an offer that we didn’t see last year. As a bonus, it comes with $50 worth of Office Max coupons!

Sharpie Fine-Point Black Permanent Markers, 12 ct $1.00

With In-Ad Coupon , Limit 1 Coupon per Customer

The very lowest price on Sharpies in 2012 was $0.20 per marker. This is an amazing deal at less than $0.09 each!

Rite Aid

White Posterboard, 22″ x 28″ $0.29

The Dollar Tree carries white posterboard for $0.69, which is usually the lowest price around. $0.29 per sheet is a stock-up price!

Staples

Staples Cap Erasers, 12 ct $0.01

With Minimum $5.00 Purchase, Limit 2

We saw these on sale often last summer: twice for a penny and once for free with a minimum purchase. These come in handy about half-way through the school year when all the classroom pencil erasers are worn.

Staples Ruled White 3 x 5″ Index Cards, 100 ct $0.01

With Minimum $5.00 Purchase, Limit 2

Index cards were $0.01 for one week last year, so this may be your only chance to buy at this price. Walmart everyday price is $0.88 for a 100 count.

Bic Round Stic Black Ballpoint Pens, 8 ct $0.01

With Minimum $5.00 Purchase, Limit 2

Last year, Bic pens were nearly free every other week. There was also a $1.00 off two Bic printable coupon we’re hoping will soon return!

Staples 8.5 x 11″ Multipurpose Paper, 500 sheets $6.99
Buy 1, Receive $6.98 Back in Staples Rewards, Limit 2
Pay $6.99, Get $6.98 Back in Staples Rewards
Final Price: $0.01

Here we see another store moving from Rebates to Rewards this year. Which do you prefer?

Avery Insertable Dividers, 5 Tab $0.25

Limit 2

Last summer we saw Avery dividers as low as $0.01 at Staples. Walgreens sold their generic brand for $0.39. At $0.25 this is a hard deal to pass up. These are regularly priced around $0.75-$1.00 per pack.

Staples Stand-Up Stapler $3.00

$3.00-$5.00 is a good price for a standard size stapler (like this one). Mini staplers will be on sale for $1.00 throughout the summer.

Westcott Recycled Scissors, 9 inch $1.00

Limit 2

Deals on standard size scissors are more difficult to come by than the smaller, kid scissors. We only saw adult scissors for $1.00 once last year.

Westcott 5″ Scissors, 2 ct $1.00

Limit 2

Target

I didn’t find the Crayola SuperTips or the Twistables Color Can today, so it was just markers and pencils for me at Target!

Crayola Markers, 10 ct $0.99

The lowest price we saw on Crayola markers last year was $0.75 at Staples for one week. The next-best price all summer was $0.97. If you don’t mind off-brands like Rose Art, hold out for a lower price. If you want Crayola, this is a good price.

Crayola Colored Pencils, 12 ct $0.99

Crayola colored pencils never dropped below $0.97 last year. Regular price is about $2.00 year-round.

Crayola SuperTips Washable Marker Color Can, 80 ct $7.99

Update: It appears this product only has 40 markers and then 40 pieces of paper. Therefore, this is no longer a stock up price, as it would be the same price as Walmart’s regular price of $0.20 a marker.

This color can looks like a new product, which is probably why I didn’t find one at my store today. The 20 ct SuperTips markers at Walmart are $3.97 ($0.20 a marker). The 50 ct packages are $0.14 a marker. This 80 ct can selling for $7.99 is only $0.10 a marker. It does look like half the markers might be shorter and wider. Factor that into your decision.

Crayola Twistables Colored Pencils and Crayons Color Can, 80 ct $7.99

Update: It appears this product only has 20 colored pencils and 20 crayons and 40 pieces of paper, thus making it “80 ct”. Therefore, this is no longer a stock up price, as it would be the same price as Walmart’s regular price of $0.20 a marker.

This was another product I couldn’t find today at Target. From the picture in the Target ad, it looks like this has 40 twistables colored pencils and 40 twistables crayons. At Walmart, the 30 ct pencils are $6.97 ($0.24/ pencil) and the 24 ct crayons are $4.97 ($0.21/ crayon). These are half the price at $0.10 each!

Walgreens

Wexford Mechanical Pencils, 30 ct $1.99

We look for mechanical pencils to be $0.10 and under per pencil. At this price, each pencil is about $0.07. The lowest price we saw last year (excluding free-after-rewards deals) was $0.05 per pencil.
