The great majority of Walmart and Target stores will not price match an "After Rewards" price, especially since items are sometimes "Free after Reward."

The Reason: Different types of checkout coupons ("Catalinas") are to be used on a future purchase, so they cannot be used on the same transaction in which you earned them. Thus, it's not realistic to ask Walmart or Target to include the “Catalina” discount in the transaction for the item that you are purchasing; the original store doesn’t even do that.

Also, most of the different drugstore Reward programs (Register Rewards, Extra Bucks, +UP) cannot be redeemed at Target or Walmart. Target does not accept other store coupons, while at Walmart, store coupons must be for a specific price and item, and Catalinas must be manufacturer coupons for an amount off of a specific item. Therefore, looking at it from these stores’ perspectives, it wouldn't be reasonable to have to price match that lower price.

If your store currently allows price-matching for "After Rewards" prices and you have confirmed this with the main store manager, then it’s that location's choice. Keep in mind that it is a courtesy, not a rule they have to follow and is subject to change at any time.
