At CVS, when using a BOGO coupon on a BOGO 50% off sale, the free item should be the full price item, just as the full price item is free with a BOGO sale and BOGO coupon. The register automatically prompts the cashier to apply it this way. However, it isn’t unheard of that a cashier will attempt to override the register and only give you the half price product for free. We suggest two things: first, point out their policy about using BOGO coupons to get two free items in a BOGO sale (where the full price item becomes free); second, if they are only going to give you the half price item for free, take a deep breath and smile. Then be sure that they put the correct amount in the box for redemption on the coupon and not the full price.
