With the start of the virtual school year, many of us are wearing new hats as we juggle being a parent, teacher, full-time employee, housekeeper, and so much more. If you feel like it’s time you’ve earned a reward, mark your calendars for tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. ET because Panera just announced they want to pay your Wi-Fi bill.

Panera will reward the first 2,020 parents who sign up for the Panera Coffee Subscription by paying your Wi-Fi bill and giving you unlimited coffee for a month.

Say what? Seems almost too good to be true, but here’s what you need to know:

  • The Panera Coffee Subscription costs $8.99 per month (this includes unlimited coffee all month long; your first month is free).
  • Panera will pay your Wi-Fi bill in the form of a $75 prepaid Visa gift card.
  • You must be a MyPanera member and 18 years or older.
  • This offer is only for new subscribers.

Even if you aren’t one of the first 2,020 subscribers, you still win.

Everyone who signs up for the program from Sept. 10 through Sept. 13 will get their first month of unlimited coffee for free. Even better, Panera will throw a free baked good on your account.

So is the subscription worth it?

If you find yourself a little skeptical of monthly subscription offers like this, don’t be. It’s actually a good deal. The monthly payment covers your choice of hot coffee, hot tea, or iced coffee every single day. There are no limitations on the size of coffee, Panera location, or time of day when ordering. The subscription also includes as many refills of the same beverage as you’d like. Just note that cold brew iced coffees and espresso beverages are excluded.

Still feeling unsure? Let’s break it down. The regular Panera coffee prices are $2 for small, $2.22 for medium, and $2.39 for large. If you were to order a large coffee every day without the subscription, you’d spend over $71 before tax every month. The $8.99 subscription pays for itself in about four visits and saves you over $62 a month if you’re a daily coffee drinker.

There’s no commitment to actually pay for the service if you don’t want it.

Here’s the thing — if after a month of getting unlimited free coffee you just don’t see yourself using the service, you don’t have to. The terms state, “you may cancel at any time. If you do not cancel either before your renewal date or after the expiration of any free trial offer, your credit card will automatically be charged $8.99 plus tax for the monthly subscription.” So, yes, you’ll need to hand over your credit card info when initially signing up, but you’re free to cancel before your trial is up and before you’re even charged.
