I used Ibotta rebates, along with coupons, to stock up on hair color, makeup, and cereal at Family Dollar.
First, I clipped a digital Smart Coupon to save $5 on my total storewide purchase of $25 or more. Since the $25 total must be reached after all other coupons have been applied, I planned my purchases carefully. I picked up a couple of boxes of L’Oreal Excellence Hair Color, using a $5/2 coupon from the Nov. 15 RetailMeNot Everyday newspaper insert. Still in the beauty aisle, I also grabbed a Maybelline Fit Me Powder, priced at $6.
Next, I headed to the grocery section to stock up on cereal. I bought four boxes of Kellogg’s Apple Jacks and used two $1/2 printable coupons.
After using the manufacturer coupons at checkout, my total came to $27. I was then able to apply the $5 digital coupon to bring the price down to $22. But the savings really kicked in when I submitted my receipt to Ibotta. I received money back on every single item I bought, totaling $9.20 in rebates.
My final cost ended up being just $12.80.
Want to score the same deals I did? The $5 off $25 digital coupon was valid for use on one day only (the day I shopped), but you can clip a new version to use on Saturday, Dec. 5. If you haven’t already, download the Smart Coupons app to access the coupon. And you can download the Ibotta app here.
