I used coupons and rebates to save on pet food and more at Family Dollar this week.
Air Wick Scented Oil Starter Kits are on sale for $3. I picked one up and used a $1.50/1 digital Smart Coupon to save an additional 50%.
Then I headed to the pet aisle to stock up on Purina dog and cat food. I grabbed three cans of Purina Dog Chow High Protein Wet Dog Food. A $1/3 digital coupon made them $0.67 each. Also, I picked up two bags of Purina Cat Chow Dry Cat Food. I had two high-value, $2/1 coupons that I clipped from a couple of Dec. 6 RetailMeNot Everyday newspaper inserts. Even better, I earned $2 back in rebates when I submitted my receipt to Ibotta (download the app here), making my final price for each bag of cat food $2.50.
I finished up my trip with a half-price deal on Halls Cough Drops. I got two 30-count bags, priced at $2 each, and then submitted my receipt to Checkout 51. The $2 in rebates that I received made each bag only $1. If you haven’t already, download the Checkout 51 app on your smartphone to get this deal for yourself.
My total at checkout came to $10.50; that’s less than half the regular cost for everything I got.
