We’ve seen a lot of free food holidays be canceled, delayed, or reimagined in the midst of Covid-19, and now Dairy Queen’s Free Cone Day is scrapped this year too.

Here’s what you need to know:

No free cones on the first day of spring this year.

Like many restaurants and retailers, Dairy Queen is trying to avoid creating big crowds in the midst of social distancing during Covid-19.

Free Cone Day on the first day of spring every year has been a big draw every year, so they’re not going to do it in 2021.

The bad news? There’s no replacement event or offer.

IHOP Free Pancake Day and 7-Eleven Free Slurpee Day had to shut down because of Covid-19, but both companies battled the disappointment by giving customers freebie coupons to use within a specific amount of time.

Sadly, Dairy Queen’s Free Cone Day isn’t getting a similar retooling for 2021. No coupons, no freebies for the 2021 event.

Create your own free cone day with Baskin-Robbins.

If you’re not too picky about WHERE you get ice cream, Baskin-Robbins is here to help fill the gap.

The ice cream chain is offering a free regular scoop of ice cream for users of the Baskin-Robbins mobile app. Register for a new account or log in and find the freebie in the “deals” section of the app.

Sign up for the DQ app to get freebies, discounts, and more.

While you’re not gonna score that freebie on Free Cone Day, there are plenty of other ways to save money at DQ.

The best place to start is to download the DQ app and start earning points for your purchases. DQ will give you freebies and discounts for your purchases.
