You can easily save close to 60% on every name-brand item on your Christmas shopping list.
Here’s roughly what prices you can expect to see for these top brands — but unless you’re dialed into KCL, you might miss deals. That just cannot happen!
If you’re not picky about the theme (Classic, Friends, Ninjago, Star Wars, etc.), you should have no issue saving up to 65% on LEGO from Black Friday through the holiday season.
Watch for LEGO savings at Target during Black Friday and Amazon during December. Also keep an eye on Walmart (we saw 64% savings last year) and Costco, which currently boasts 78% savings on LEGO!
Find out about other top Costco holiday toys for this year.
Kohl’s is traditionally the place to score a good Xbox deal — we usually see them dip down to $168 (regularly $279.99).
Last year, Target gave Kohl’s a run for its money though, offering Xbox One for $156.74.
But as long as you’re saving about 40%, it’s safe to pull the trigger and buy. This applies to PlayStation as well.
3. The North Face
It can be a challenge to find a good discount on The North Face, so the holiday season is a good time to outfit the whole family.
We see up to 30% savings on The North Face vests, jackets and coats at Macy’s during Black Friday.
For the past three years, we’ve seen savings of over 60% on Nerf at Kohl’s during Black Friday.
In fact, last year we saw Star Wars Nerf Blasters for $12.49 (regularly $34.99) after stacking four promo codes online at Kohl’s.
Target was a runner-up with a Buy Two, Get One Free Nerf sale mid-December. Nerf guns regularly priced at $14.99 came to $6.20 each — a 59% savings.
5. Hot Wheels
Seasoned shoppers know that it’s a rookie move to overlook drugstores when it comes to holiday shopping.
Case study: Hot Wheels.
Around early December every year, Walgreens offers a sale price on Hot Wheels cars for almost 50% off. You can buy unlimited amounts of them for $0.69/car. Can you say “stocking stuffers”?!
6. Melissa & Doug
Shop Kohl’s for Melissa & Doug toys the week after Black Friday is over.
Last year we saw Melissa & Doug’s “Let’s Play House” collection for at least 50% off, and 55% off select Disney-themed Melissa & Doug toys (like the 10-piece Mickey’s Deluxe Band set).
A surprise runner-up is Home Depot. During Black Friday weekend last year, Melissa and Doug chunky puzzles were 50% off at Home Depot!
Aim for at least 50% savings on KitchenAid Classic and Artisan stand mixers.
During the rest of the year, you can count on a deal at Kohl’s or Target to get a half-price KitchenAid stand mixer.
But during the holidays, a few other players throw their hat into the ring as well. Like Macy’s.
Around mid-December last year, Macy’s showed up with $187 savings on KitchenAid, thanks to a “Get $10 in Macy’s Money for every $50 spent” promotion.
This made a $349.99 KitchenAid mixer only $162.99.
8. Instant Pot
Aim to save up to 60% on Instant Pot pressure cookers during the holidays.
Keep your eye on Kohl’s doorbuster deals right when they go live the Monday before Black Friday. The sweet spot is a Black Friday sale on Instant Pot + an online promo code discount + earned Kohl’s Cash.
For example, last year we saw a $129.99 7-in-1 Instant Pot Duo marked down to $79.99. After applying a 15%-off promo code, the price was $67.99. Not to mention the $15 in Kohl’s Cash earned from the purchase!
Amazon is another good bet for an Instant Pot deal, although you won’t save as much as you can at Kohl’s. Aim for up to 40% Instant Pot savings on Amazon during Black Friday.
Black Friday is one of the best times to stockpile Carter’s clothes not only for Christmas, but to build your gift stockpile for future baby showers you’ll attend.
Look for a doorbuster deal on Carter’s at Kohl’s. Here’s what we saw last year when we combined sale prices + a 15%-off promo code:
- Bodysuits: $1.70 each (regularly $5.20 each)
- Sleepers: $5.44 each (regularly $16.00 each)
10. bareMinerals, Urban Decay, Smashbox, Benefit and more
Plan to shop like you mean it at Ulta on Cyber Monday if you’ve got high end “prestige” makeup on your Christmas shopping list.
Last year Ulta offered up to 50% off rarely-discounted makeup brands like bareMinerals, Urban Decay, Smashbox, Benefit, It, Buxom, Anastasia Beverly Hills and more.
Best part? Ulta offered a free 22-piece beauty bag full of makeup with any $75 or more online purchase.
11. American Girl
Two words: Costco and Kohl’s.
Look for American Girl dolls at Costco in early November, before Black Friday begins. Last year, Costco offered Kit Kittredge for $65 less than Amazon’s price.
This year, you can get a Ballet Barre Set and Outfit for $69.99. Compare this to the Creative Studio sold at the American Girl Store ($58) + ballet outfit for dolls ($28).
You’ll save $16 when you buy from Costco. Find out more secrets to saving on American Girl.
12. Bath & Body Works
A good stock-up price on Bath & Body Works hand soap is $2.25 each, and for candles, $9.50 each. During early December, you can find hand soap for more like $2.00, and candles for $8.95.
Bath & Body Works usually offers sale prices along with a dollar-off coupon (like $10 off a $30 purchase), and you should plan to buy enough to use it in order to get the lowest price per hand soap and candle.
TIP: Bath & Body Works accepts coupons on Black Friday! If you see items reach stock-up prices, buy!
Almost every major store offered a deal on FitBit during the holidays last year.
Look for deals at Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Kohl’s and even Zulily.
Kohl’s edged out in front of the other retailers because they offered $15 in Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent.
But as long as you’re saving at least 50%, you’re getting a good deal.
Watch Famous Footwear for a Converse deal that’ll justify hoarding shoes.
Last year, they ran a Buy One Clearance Pair, Get One 50% off, plus a 15%-off total purchase promo code.
Nike Factory Outlet is another store to watch for a Converse deal. Around mid-December last year they offered 60% savings on Converse.
When it comes to Disney toys, it’s not too hard to find a deal during the holidays.
The main players will probably be Walmart, Target, Costco and Kohl’s, and you may end up choosing your store based on which toy you want.
A good strategy is to hold off unless you can get at least 50% savings, and then stock up for both Christmas presents and gifts for kids all year long.
For example, last year we saw Disney Princess My Size Dolls for $23.28-$30.87 (regularly $54.99-$64.99).
16. Yankee Candle
Last year, Yankee offered a Black Friday deal, a tote with $160 worth of candles and accessories for $57.99 — which is 63% savings.
But also look for BOGO Free candle deals at Kohl’s because for the past two years, we’ve seen large jar candles come to less than $10 each, a stellar stock-up price.
Shop Amazon or Best Buy for a Roku Streaming Stick during Black Friday.
Last year, both retailers offered them for a sale price of $48 (regularly $69.99).
You can pretty easily save up to 50% on UGG boots at Nordstrom Rack after Black Friday through mid-December.
Also watch 6pm for deals on UGG during Black Friday week.
19. The Children’s Place
Expect to save 50-75% sitewide at The Children’s Place the week prior to Black Friday.
Last year there were no codes needed; everything was marked down to sale prices. Plus, free shipping.
Stock. Up. (And find out how to save on The Children’s Place the rest of the year.)
Watch for online deals on TOMS in early December. Last year, the main player was Zulily, where we saw 40%-off TOMS for the whole family.
Plus, you could get a $10 off $30 coupon if you checked out using MasterPass (Mastercard’s online checkout system).
Macy’s can’t compete with Kohl’s on Black Friday overall. But when it comes to Pyrex, Macy’s is the champ.
12-Piece Storage Set
- Macy’s: $7.99
- Kohl’s: $13.99
Last year, Walmart, Target and Best Buy all ran DVD deals where you could snatch select movies for super cheap during Black Friday.
Anytime you see DVDs under $5 each, stock up!
- Walmart: $1.96
- Target: $3.80
- Best Buy: $3.99
