You hear that? It’s the sound of your bank account emptying this holiday season. Let’s not let your wallet get too light — these 44 seasonal jobs are a great way to earn some extra spending money as 2022 quickly comes to a close.

In fact, many companies hiring right now are looking to add permanent employees after the holiday season. They’re offering competitive bonuses, benefits like childcare and paid leave, and higher hourly rates to seasonal workers in order to tempt someone just like you to join their team.

Retail Seasonal Jobs

Seasonal retail workers are needed every year to help support the holiday rush. Don’t waste any time getting your application in. Here are 44 places to consider applying to.

1. Amazon

In a press release, the almighty marketplace giant said they plan to hire 150,000 seasonal employees. If you’re interested in permanent employment, Amazon noted that many seasonal employees end up transitioning into full-time roles.

2. Target

Target isn’t far behind. They plan to hire 100,000 seasonal employees, and starting hourly wages range from $15 to $24. Imagine how cheap the stuff from the dollar bins will be after your employee discount.

3. Walmart

Walmart is ready to welcome 40,000 workers for the holiday season at their locations around the nation. Positions span from store associates to customer service and truck drivers.

4. Macy’s

Macy’s has 41,000 seasonal positions to fill this year, both part-time and full-time. Opportunities to transition to full-time employment after the holiday season ends will be available.

5. Sephora

Around the U.S., Sephora is gearing up for the holidays, looking for help in their warehouses, on store floors, and even online. Make some extra cash and up your cosmetics game. Check out their many job postings on Indeed.

6. Best Buy

In the past, Best Buy welcomed thousands of seasonal employees to the team toward the end of the year, and 2022 is shaping up to be no different. You can check out their open positions on their website.

7. Urban Outfitters

According to Indeed, from coast to coast, UO needs seasonal help in their warehouses and on the store floor. It looks like the pay starts at $15.50 an hour, and both part-time and full-time positions are available.

8. Kohl’s

If you want to earn some extra income this holiday season, Kohl’s wants you. In fact, they’re looking to bring 90,000 seasonal workers on board to help with the holiday rush.

9. See’s Candies

See’s only has locations in California, but according to a job posting on Monster, they need urgent help, and the hourly rate is around $21.25. Candy lovers must apply!

10. JCPenney

The retail store is aiming to hire 20,000 seasonal workers to help staff its 650 stores. You might be able to get a JCPenney employee discount of up to 25%, and many seasonal workers end up with a permanent employment opportunity.

11. Vans

From Michigan to California to Oregon, Vans is looking for additional support on the retail side. According to Indeed, pay starts at $15.57 an hour, and many of the positions are listed as part-time.

12. Kate Spade New York

If designer handbags are your jam, you might consider applying for one of the many seasonal positions listed for Kate Spade on Indeed. They’re looking for sales associates, holiday stylists, and cashiers. While the pay depends on the position, $15 an hour seems to be the rough going rate.

13. Williams Sonoma

In 2020, WS hired about 3,000 seasonal employees. While we weren’t able to confirm these details, word on the street is that this year, they’re poised to more than double that amount, with thousands of remote positions too.

14. The North Face

Per their website, The North Face needs temporary help mostly in the form of sales associates, but there’s also a job posting for a floor supervisor. They offer a competitive hourly wage, flexible scheduling, and 50% off their merchandise.

15. Banana Republic

Banana Republic has a bunch of active job postings on their website, mostly for “stylists” (meaning sales associates). You’ll possibly get 50% off their merch and access to health care options, plus mental health and wellbeing programs.

16. Skechers

Skechers is offering seasonal positions for their retail stores across the U.K. and U.S. The pay is around $16.25 an hour, although some are listed a bit higher.

17. Dick’s Sporting Goods

Every athlete’s favorite store, Dick’s Sporting Goods, is hiring up to 9,000 folks to aid in the holiday rush. The job postings say you get discounts and sales, flexible scheduling, and daily pay.

18. Nordstrom

According to job boards, Nordstrom is looking for seasonal help — both part-time and full-time — with positions starting at about $15 an hour. They’re also holding in-person hiring events, but the last one is on Nov. 18!

19. 1-800-Flowers

People love sending flowers for special occasions. To meet holiday demand, the flower delivery giant is hiring an extra 8,000 people. They offer “robust incentives and perks,” flexible hours, competitive wages, and a healthy discount on their items.

20. Bath & Body Works

All over the U.S. and Canada, your favorite shower gel store needs sales associates. Who could resist a Bath & Body Works employee discount on their seasonal scents? (Not I.)

21. Lululemon

Their sales associates — what they refer to as “educators” — can make anywhere from $15 to $18.50 an hour, although a bonus of an extra $3 an hour is also available. Lululemon offers employee discounts, insurance, and PTO (although we couldn’t confirm exactly how this works for seasonal employees). Think of the perks. Think of the leggings.

22. H&M

Visit their careers page for all the details. Pay for seasonal sales associates starts at $15.50 an hour. Because H&M Group includes a number of brands and businesses, this could open you up to a world of new opportunities post-holiday season.

23. Crate & Barrel

Crate & Barrel needs seasonal merchandising associates, cashiers, fulfillment associates, replenishment associates, and other temporary professionals. After all, there’s no better time to buy fancy gadgets and furnishings for the home.

24. Lowe’s

Lowe’s always expands their team for the holiday season. In fact, in 2021 they hired 50,000 seasonal employees and paid out $80 million in bonuses. Ca-ching!

25. World Market

You know who gets a ton of holiday traffic? Home goods stores like World Market. The store needs associates to help keep the inventory stocked and also assist customers during their spending sprees.

26. Victoria’s Secret

You won’t be hard-pressed to find seasonal positions for sales associates at the infamous lingerie store, Victoria’s Secret. Be prepared to set floorsets, clean, process and replenish merchandise, handle the cash register, and sell your bum off.

27. Pandora Jewelry

Surround yourself with sparkling jewelry and earn some extra cash this season. Pandora needs people until just after New Year’s. Depending on the location, you can expect to make at least $12 an hour.

28. Mrs. Field’s Cookies

When you’re shopping at the mall and need a little snack, where do you go? Mrs. Fields. Don’t @ me. Indeed is showing hourly rates starting at $13, with day and night shifts available. And I feel like this doesn’t need to be pointed out, but… cookies.

29. Walgreens

The drugstore giant is hiring temporary customer service associates around the country to man the cash registers and give shoppers a good experience. Part-time and full-time positions are available at Walgreens, and some of the job postings indicate flexible hours.

30. Tillys

It’s the busiest time of year for Tillys, and they need temporary sales associates to keep the customer experience top-notch even with the spike in foot traffic. Hourly pay will vary by location/state.

31. Disney Store

A quick job search on the Disney Careers website currently shows 134 job listings with the keyword “seasonal” in them. Plan to work in a fast-paced and high-energy environment on tasks like processing shipments, replenishing the sales floor, and other operational tasks.

32. Tory Burch

The luxury designer is hiring seasonal associates for several locations across the U.S. Pay starts at $15 an hour, and it looks like you’ll enjoy an employee discount, too (but check with the location you’re applying at).

33. Carter’s

Carter’s is the place to shop for the little ones, so they’ll undoubtedly be experiencing a mad rush this holiday season. They need temporary associates to help manage the flow of shoppers.

34. Famous Footwear

If affordable footwear is your jam, you’ll be happy to know that Famous Footwear is hiring seasonal associates. Perks include competitive pay and a 30% discount on shoes!

35. Sbarro Pizza

While Sbarro isn’t a retailer, I felt they were worth a mention because they’re hiring across the board — seasonal, part-time, and full-time. According to their job postings on Indeed, pay starts at around $15 an hour. Can you imagine basking in the aroma of greasy pizza all day? I can.

36. Burlington Stores

From California to Texas to Connecticut, Burlington Stores is looking for plenty of seasonal help in the form of cashiers and retail associates. They offer competitive wages, flexible working hours, and even employee discounts.

 

Arts & Crafts Store Seasonal Jobs

37. JoAnn

JoAnn currently has 55 seasonal job postings on their website for positions all across the U.S. Roles include retail associates, inventory cycle counters, and helping in the distribution centers.

38. Michaels

Arts and crafts lovers, rejoice! Michaels confirmed that throughout the U.S. and Canada, they’re hiring 15,000 seasonal workers to help run their stores and distribution centers.

39. Hobby Lobby

Last year, Hobby Lobby brought in 11,000 seasonal workers, and in 2022, they’ve got job listings up around the nation. Hobby Lobby also recently raised both their part-time and full-time minimum wage.

Shipping and Delivery Seasonal Jobs

40. FedEx

If anyone stays busy during the holidays, it’s shipping and delivery people. Last year, FedEx employed an additional 90,000 seasonal workers. While we haven’t confirmed this year’s numbers, we’re expecting something similar.

41. UPS

UPS has FedEx beat, with plans to bring 100,000 new workers aboard, including drivers, driver helpers, and package handlers. Both part-time and full-time positions are available.

42. USPS

USPS is no different and will undoubtedly need extra help through the end of the year. They’re hiring an extra 28,000 people and also need permanent part-time and full-time employees. If you’re looking for a great job opportunity even after the holidays end, this might be it.

43. Geodis

The global transport and logistics provider needs extra help, and they’re opening up 5,000 seasonal positions across the U.S. and Canada.

44. Tesla

Tesla needs seasonal advisors to operate alongside the sales and delivery team. Customer service skills are a must, and a passion for sustainable energy doesn’t hurt.
