Here are a few helpful tips for shopping Lowe’s during the coronavirus pandemic:

Lowe’s hours

Lowe’s recently responded to concerns by temporarily reducing their store hours. You can now shop at all Lowe’s locations from 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. daily.

Lowe’s says this change will provide additional time for essential product replenishment and to thoroughly clean and sanitize their stores daily.

Senior shopping hours

As of publication, Lowe’s has not set aside any hours for customers aged 60 and older to shop.

Lowe’s supply and shopping limits

Shopping limits

Quarantine essentials like toilet paper and hand sanitizer are out of stock online, but the retailer has not yet set any restrictions on in-store buying.

On April 2, Lowe’s announced new protocols to keep customers safe, including some social distancing measures to limit and monitor the amount of foot traffic in stores at one time. They’ll also be updating their floor plans to create more aisle space, making it easier for associates and customers to get the items they need quickly and safely. You can also expect plexiglass shields at checkout.

Supply restocks

Lowe’s has shipped an additional 10,000 truckloads of essential products so customers can continue to get the products they need, however, popular landing pages on Lowes.com currently feature a banner that says: “Due to increased demand, the product you’re looking for may be unavailable right now. We’re working hard to replenish our supply as soon as possible.”

Returns

As of now, no changes have been made to the returns process. You can read up on Lowe’s return policy here.

Lowe’s pickup and delivery

Pickup

In their public response to COVID-19, Lowe’s promised that they’re working to implement a more robust curbside pickup process so customers can be served without coming into the store.

For the time being, Lowe’s in-store pickup is free for all purchases made online or on the Lowe’s app. You’ll receive a confirmation email after placing your order, and another email when your order is ready for pickup.

Once your order is ready, head to the store and follow the bright blue pickup signs to the customer service desk. Some stores may have separate designated pickup areas.

Delivery

Lowe’s is temporarily changing their delivery procedures to protect the health of their customers and employees. As of March 25, deliveries will be left at the front door, garage, or alternative location. For more information, check out Lowe’s delivery options.

You may be asked if anyone in your home has tested positive for COVID-19 before Lowe’s will complete an in-home installation.

Lowe’s jobs and staffing

On April 2, Lowe’s announced their plan to issue $2 wage increases to full-, part-time, and temporary workers for the month of April. Lowe’s will also offer bonuses in an effort to recognize their existing employees. Full-time associates will be paid $300 as opposed to $150 for part-time and seasonal associates.

Additionally, they have extended some benefits to all associates and their families, regardless if they’re enrolled in Lowe’s medical plan.

Lowe’s is actively hiring for 30,000 positions across the U.S. These include full-time, part-time, seasonal, and overnight roles available in stores, at distribution centers, and at other supply-chain facilities. Those interested in applying can visit Lowe’s careers for more information.
