So I had a crappy time at Walgreens yesterday. I got the coupon booklet and sale ad the day before from a very nice cashier at 9:50pm before they closed. I was ready for my Sunday excursion and got up super early for the store opening. I had four cottonelle packs and five of the special k cereals. I was planning on three transactions. The manager was the one ringing me up. I didn’t notice the green sign they had placed on the register showing that they were having difficulties with the RRs printer. I bought two cottonelle toliet paper packs and didn’t get a RRs. I then bought the five special k cereals and no RRs either. I asked the manager and he matter of factly pointed at the sign and said the rewards printer hasn’t printed rewards for 10 days. I asked for a refund of the cereal then and stated I could put the cereal back on the shelf myself if he preferred. He took back the cereal, but he had an attitude about it and made me feel like I was doing something wrong. I still bought the other two packs of cottonelle toliet paper even though the register rewards weren’t printing since it was still a better deal for me. He was cool about three transactions, but he could have been polite and also realized that I was trying to get register rewards and told me before I started. I think the sign for the register rewards not printing should have been posted on the entrance doors. If I had seen that, I wouldn’t have entered the store. I would have gone to another location that I knew had register rewards printing. Does 10 days sound like a long time for their printer to be down and not fixed?

There was also another lady there(I have seen before on day 1 of the ad) trying to get a coupon for the item that give register rewards like the Goody hair clips. I didn’t stick around, but I wondered if she knew about the RRs not printing either.

  2. Lauriea says:

is there a limit as to how many times each of these coupons will be applied in a single transaction? i know today when i bought 2 packages of cottonelle it was one scan, applied twice… if i bought 40 of something on that scan, would it apply 40 times within the one transaction?

Is there a cottonelle coupon? I dont see it listed, am I overlooking it?

Will you be posting some manufacturer coupon match-ups for these? :)

  7. Emilie says:

After Walgreens stopped doing their rebate book – I basically stopped couponing there. But recently after reading several threads about the great deals at Walgreens – I am giving it another try. (Even though CVS is still my fav). I know if I Have X amount of coupons I have to have X amount of product. Tonight I had 3 manufacaturer coupons and 2 register rewards. One of my man. coupons was $1.00 when you buy 3. The salesman told me I was not allowed to use the rr because the coupon for $1.00 off 3 counted as 3 coupons – so I could only use the manufacturer coupons and not the register rewards. (The register beeped on the rr). The 3rd item was an extra item to use the $1.00 off coupon – so I just had him take the 3rd item off and the $1.00 off coupon so I could use my $5 worth of rr. Was this right? I was thankful – I spent less money – but it sounded crazy if you ask me. ESP since he didn’t try to save the $$$$ I was trying to spend. :)

    • Luann says:

Hi Emilie. Exactly the same thing happened to me at Wags. I was doing the great Trident Vitality gum deal using the $2/3 coupon. Each single coupon counted as 3 coupons since each one was for 3 items, so I was not able to use the RR for that transaction. If I had realized that in advance, I would have gotten some filler items. But no big deal, that just makes more RR for next time.

    • LR says:

That doesn’t make sense, Emilie… I hate it when they don’t know what they are doing!! You said you had 3 manufacturer coupons and 2 RR, how many items did you have total?

    • Daysreamsickle says:

You can’t have more coupons than items. They count the rr as coupons. So if you have three items and three coupons and two rr all you have to do is buy two more items. Most of the walgreens keep laffy taffy by register that only cost 8 cent. So if you buy two laffy taffy that gives you five items and you can use coupons and rr

I’m confused as to why the Cottonelle from a previous KCL post is only on sale 7/31?

    • Mjhaan says:

KCL posted a few days ago that that catalina deal ends on 7/31. The sale will still be on for the whole week, but after 7/31, you won’t get the 3.50 catalina.

      • Devin says:

but whats the difference between the catalina and a register reward?

        • Anonymous says:

It’s the same thing. When we speak of catalina’s at Walgreens, it’s because there is a month long catalina deal going on for Cottonelle. Not only at Walgreens, but other stores too.

There are A LOT of high value coupons to be had directly from the manufacturer websites right now that will stack onto the Walgreens Qs from the the booklet. I printed out:
    Rembrandt
    Claritin
    Aquafresh
    Midol
    Lamisil
    Alavert
    U by Kotex
    and more!

Can you explain in detail how to get the cottenelle from Walgreens for $1.50 each pack? I’m a bit confused and new to this. Thank you

  14. Jessica says:

I’m new at this and I know this is a silly question, but just so my mind is clear, are these coupons only valid at Walgreens or can they be used at other grocery stores?

    • Lolalopez91 says:

you can only use the booklet coupons in walgreens. But you can stack it with a manufacture Q

I need some help. Every time I go to Walgreens and try to use a clipped coupon manufacturers coupon along with a coupon from the Wags booklet it doesn’t work. The register beeps and then a manager will come and say I can not stack the two coupons on one item. They say that their policy is to accept one manufacturers coupon (they consider the wags monthly booklet coupons manufactures coupons and they do say manufactures coupon on them) and one wags coupon found in the weekly flyer. I have been to at least 4 Walgreens and am always told the same thing. I have read the walgreens coupon policy and it does not state that you can stack a wags “manufacturers coupon” with another manufactures coupon. Thanks for any and all help!!!!!

I’ve had the same problem! I tried to get some Tums last week & use the July booklet coupon w/ a manufacturer coupon, & was told the same thing. They consider the wags monthly booklet coupons to be manufacturer coupons, & so they wouldn’t let me stack them w/ my manufacturer coupon…

      • Dana says:

I have the same problem at our local walgreens!

        • JLSaufl says:

I called consumer relations and they said ALL coupons with the walgreens logo are Walgreens coupons and not MFG coupons. What you need to do it hand over all of your MFG coupons first, and then have them scan the booklet and coupons out of the add (no need to clip them as they are not walgreens coupons and they just toss them anyway). I was told by CR that if I’m denied to stack coupons, that I should contact them as I’m trying to check out and they will set the manager/cashier straight.

On the coupons on my booklet, they do say “Manufacturer coupon good only at Walgreens” on it… doesn’t that mean it IS a manufacturer coupon?

No. I don’t understand why they say manufacturer coupons, but you can only use them at Walgreens.

            • Amy says:

I just spoke with Corporate and the monthly booklets ARE manufacturer coupons..they are NOT in-store walgreens coupons. Yes, they can only be used at Walgreen’s because these are coupons that these particular manufacturer’s are offering to the Walgreen’s chain. Just like when you get a RR and it states “Redeem only at Walgreen’s”…it is the same thing according to corporate. I got a RR printed the other day for some General Mills cereal…and it was a manufacturer coupon…and it stated “Redeem only at Walgreens.” I know this is a pretty knowlegable group of us on here and none of us want to do anything misleading…but I would strongly suggest contacting Consumer Relations like I just did (not even 15 minutes ago)…and hear the information regarding this yourself. Again, I was just told that those booklets are manufacturer coupons given to Walgreen’s from the manufacturer themselves to be used only in their stores. It is a deal between the manufacturer and Walgreens (Walgreen’s in fact submits those reports to the manufacturer’s for reimbursement)…and has nothing to do with their in-store coupons. The In-Store Coupons are the ones you find in the weekly circulars ONLY.

We have this same problem at ONE of our local Walgreens. Luckily, it’s one that I rarely go to. There are 2 others that I frequent and I have no problem stacking the IVC coupons with manufacturer coupons.

I have a question about the Cottonelle deal for this Sunday (7/31)…in the KCL ad earlier in the week, it was discussed on how to get each tp pack for $1.50 after man. coupons and catalinas. Usually, it’s referred to as “Register Rewards”, but this time it was referred to as “Catalinas”. What’s the difference? I hope I didn’t make that question come across to confusing…

    • iridia says:

They’re the same thing. Catalina is the genericized provider of register reward-type programs. Like how Kleenex makes tissues, but tons of people call tissues “Kleenex.”

      • Anonymous says:

This reward is not offered exclusively to Walgreens. It is offered by the Catalina company. The $3.50 will come out at other stores too. So, a little different but the same. ;) Also, it won’t be in the Walgreens ad.

  23. Sara C says:

It looks like the “W Temple Thermometer” will be a good buy! The online price is $17.99, and they have a $10/1 Q. $8 for an instant-read temple thermometer is a good deal in my book! (of course, YMMV) :)

    Thanks KCLs!!

Quiet a few of these have manu. coupons to stack. I see a stock-up of kotex u, cottonelle, azo, and more Zantac in my future (even though the zantac is a larger count…might not be such a great deal). Thanks so much for the preview.

how many booklets can you take?

    • Lizcole85 says:

I’m pretty sure you can take as many as you’d like…if they’re anything like July’s booklets, they’ll have them ALL OVER the store :)

      • Sheena_1028 says:

        awesome thanks

        • Axhilli says:

You only need one walgreens booklet as you can reuse it all month long. The Walgreens coupons are not ones they keep and they should let you have your booklet back. I dont even rip the coupons out I just turn to the page I need for the coupon I’m using and they scan it or key in the code.

          • Denise says:

My Walgreens takes the coupons, so I end up picking up a new book each time I go in.

I used to cut them out but then when I discovered didn’t need to I just show them the booklet now and they have no problem just scanning it and giving it back to me. So much easier!

Hello everyone went to Walgreens this morning here on the east coast and got some great deals. Not only did I use my extra bucks rewards to make my purchase so thank you, I found that my Walgreen has Coglate Toothpaste on clearance for 10@10.00 and with the coupons 1.00 of when you purchase two I had from previous Sunday paper as well as the this past Sunday I was able to purchase 20 tubes of toothpaste for only 12.10 each tube was .50 cent a piece for a total savings of 54.78.
