For those of you wondering about participating items, I was able to grab a few pics during my run through at Target yesterday. Remember, the ad does not list every participating item. You’ll need to look for marked items in your store. However, they do not always get marked either. So be sure to check KCL for all participating items, as we will only list those we are sure are participating :)

  1. Bought 1 Frebreze warmer unit (last one) and 4 of the set and refresh. Used 1 $3/1 for the unit and (4) of the $1/1 set and refresh. Total $12.50 – $7 MQ = $5.50 oop plus received my $5 GC. Technically paid .10 cents per item in you factor in the gift card plus tax! I have one in my kitchen and it really has a nice scent ;)

  3. sorry…which my 4-$1.00 overages paid for + a few extras

  4. Dollar General has the Febreze Noticeables on clearance for $2.00, French’s worcestersauce for $1.00, and bayer asprin for $3.75
    used:
    4-$3.00 Q Febreze Noticebles
    3-$.75 Q French’s Worcestershire sauce
    3-$1.50 Q Bayer Advanced
    3-$2.00 DG Q Bayer Advanced
    = 1.50+tax

  5. I was just at Target, and they would not allow me to use more than 1 of the same coupon in a transaction. Such as, the Febreeze I had the 3 coupons for the noticeables warmer and 2 coupons for the set+refresh, well they wanted me only to use 1 coupon for the noticeables and 1 for the set+refresh. I had 3 sure deo coupons and I had to do separate transactions for each one. Can anyone explain?

People, please listen up. It is great that people are learning new things to help their families and to donate items to the needy. I am doing just that. But why is it so difficult to read before you post the same thing over and over and over again?

    Happy Couponing to All!

  7. The Frebreze at my Target was a) not included in any GC deal, b) not on sale, reg price $2.99 and c) out of stock. Went to Kroger today though and found Frebreze Warmers for $1.99 each!!! They credit the overage so I got 4 and still made $1!!!

Gillette Body Wash was also onsale for $1.99, had a $2/1 coupon so these were also FREE as well! Oh and a long time ago there was a coupon for Ronzoni Garden Delight pasta. I’ve had the coupon for months but it was an expensive box of pasta, so I never bought it. They had it as a 10/$10 item. Coupon was $1/1 so I got 3 boxes FREE! Loooove getting free stuff!

My Target in Las Vegas would not let me use coupons with the promotion they said I had to pick, get the $5 gift card and use NO coupons or use coupons and get NO gift card. So frustrated with Target!!! It seems their policy changes every minute, if the cashier is in a bad mood or someones interpertation on coupon policy and when I called the corporate office she took my first name and said she would let someone know. Sounds like that will get sent right to the trash.

  9. Jennifer Wright says:

smiths in utah has the spray and the set and refresh things on for 1.99 (wyb 4) and the a dollar off digital coupon, not as good as target but still super cheap!!

  10. Peacejoy80 says:

In my local target paper, doesn’t have warmers listed, so I’m doubtful they will be included. If not, I have a giftcard from before that will make my ofp much lower, and receive another giftcard too! But with $1 diet pepsi and free makeup, won’t hurt to look. And if they’re out – maybe my walmart will have some in clearance! Good luck all.

  11. Marie says:

KCL-When you say to make sure and get another item to “absorb the overage”, does that mean if I but 3 warmers with 3/$3 off coupons, that the $1.50 in overage will be applied to my 4th item I purchase??? Not clear on this….

    • Anonymous says:

This is hit & miss. Sometimes the register will auto-adjust your coupons down to the item, but other times (as is what happened when I did this deal), the register will allow each coupon at face value until you’ve reached your transaction subtotal, then it will either adjust the final coupon down automatically, or reject it altogether. Therefore, in the latter scenario, if you have other items in your cart, the final coupon(s) should not get rejected, depending on how much you have to absorb the overage. Also, SOME Targets’ registers have a glitch when it comes to gift card deals, forcing you to have at least an additional $5 worth of items in your cart in order for your coupons to apply correctly. My Target does not have this glitch, so it really does vary.

  12. My Target in So Cal, the warmers weren’t a part of the gift card. I still bought them with my other items. Then proceeded to my Walmart run where I found them at $2 instead of $2.50. Oh well. Good Luck everyone.

  13. i have to say, i was sort of disappointed by this target promotion which was rather misleading, at least in my area (charlotte, nc). i went to target today with the plan on purchasing five of the febreeze noticeables warmers, using four of the $3 off. When i got to the checkout the cashier was friendly and scanned the giftcard which apparently took off $5 from my order. In the end, only two of my coupons would have been redeemed at face value ($3) the third one would have been half ($1.50) and the last one it wouldn’t take at all. The manager came over and explained that they weren’t allowed to give me overage and since my first to coupons were greater than the item ($2.50) the last two wouldn’t be fully honored. If I wanted to get the deal, all five of them for the giftcard i would have paid $5.48 after tax. I said that didn’t make sense, especially that they would apply the amount of the giftcard to the order since i wanted to use it on something else. She said that was their policy. In the end I left without them.

  14. Leah Wright says:

I am in southern mississippi and they are not doing the warmers, only the fall collect which isn’t allowing the extreme couponing. I still was able to get some febreeze products for about .60 a piece.

  15. Leah Wright says:

All target are not having the same sell. I am in mississippi on the coast and they are only doing the new fall collect and no warmers.

  16. Anonymous says:

I bought 4 febreeze set and fresh and one febreeze spray and used 4 $3.00 off noticeable warmer coupons and one $1.00 off spray coupon. I also had another item which the overage was applied to. I then received the gift card which was generated before the coupons were taken off.

  17. I didn’t have an issue with using 5 coupons however the warmers were not included in the $5 Gift Card deal and the cashier was not nice about it. I ended up getting the air effects and set/refresh’s instead but the attitude I could have lived without! And on top of that she tried telling me they were not allowed to adjust the coupon down (I ended up buying 2 warmers anyways), we called a manager over who instantly told her to just adjust it. I like Walmart so much better when it comes to this type of stuff!

  18. went and tried this deal at 3 different targets and it did not work. I tried buying 3 of the warmers and 2 of the air freshners using 3 of the warmer coupon and 2 of the air freshner coupon and bought 2 shirts that were on clearance for $2.50 each. they rang everything up and used 3 of the $3.00 warmer coupon and 2 of them took off $3.00 and the third one adjusted itself to $2.51 and when she went to scan the other 2 coupons I had the register would not take it. I asked the cashier to call a manager over and the manager said if it wont take the coupon we cant do anything. I even asked her to adjust the $3.00 coupons down to $2.50 and she said she couldnt do that. So I said I will go to a different one. So I headed out to another one and it did the same thing. So i headed out to another one and it did the same thing. So i just gave up. Kinda dissapointed that this didnt work and I waisted so much gas. Total failure on this deal.

  19. Don’t forget if your Target runs out Wal Mart price matches and there is a .50 overage. Applied to your bill.

  21. Michael Sturgis says:

Kroger has the warmers at $1.40 with the purchase of 4 participating P&G products. I think the refills were $3.99. Buy all four and use three of the $3.00 warmer coupons and there will be a credit of $4.80. That is enough to cover the cost of the refill….

  23. Is this for warmer only or warmer with refill?

    • MeredithB says:

Does the Febreze Noticeables Warmer come with a scent? Or is it just the actual “warmer?”…I don’t want to buy 4 warmers (Even if they are free), because then I’ll have to buy 4 scents which are the expensive part!!

  24. Sold out at Target and Walmart in my area with that ones at this price…..BUT I looked in the clearance and found Noticeables Decore ones for $3 each! So I still 3 for free. Yay!

  25. I did the Febreeze Warmer at my Walmart where they were on clearance for $2.00 but I would suggest getting the refill with the overage because it doesn’t come with one.

I really thought the warmer set is a set, that means a warmer and a refresher. But, then I found out, it was only the warmer. Oh well.

  27. Anonymous says:

so, I went to get this deal today……..it didn’t quite work the way I had hoped; but I still left happy, so no big deal. Here’s what I did:
I didn’t have 3 sets of coupons for anything, just two sets as I only purchased two sunday paper subscriptions (sunday papers are way too expensive so I found a great deal on a subscription and got two of them, all I need really) anyway,

I bought 2 warmers (used 2 $3.00 off), 2 sprays (used 2 $1.00 off), and 1 set and refresh (used 1 $1.00 off) or tried to anyway. The computer would not take one of the dollar off coupons, and I think it had something to do with the fact that the computer pronted the cashier to put in the gift card before she was done scanning the coupons, I don’t really know…she tried everything. I ended up paying 4.50 and getting a $5.00 gift card, so not a horrible deal, plust I am going to see if I can do the mail in rebate everyone is talking about.

in a separate transaction I bought:

2 pepsi packs, on sale for 2.75 and used 2 of the $1.00 off coupons (paid 1.75 for each, best price I’ve ever gotten on these)
disney vitamins (paid 1.74 after using the coupons mentioned on this site)

the toal with tax was 5.44 so I used the gift card and paid 44 cents out of pocket

so really I ended up paying 4.94 for all the soda, vitamins and all those febreze items, not a bad day. If i get some money back with the mail in rebate then that would be even better.

    thanks KCL : )

oh, I forgot to mention that the catalina also gave me a coupon for a free 8×8 shutterfly photo book ( it says it’s a $29.99 gift for target guests) not sure if anyone else got this as well; but seems llike a good freebie

The register most likely rejected that last coupon because it put you into overage territory. That’s what happened to me too :) Just make sure your cart has other items, and oftentimes, the overage will get absorbed. Sometimes, the registers will auto adjust each coupon down, but other times, it won’t. What probably happened in your situation is that the first 4 coupons applied at face value, creating an overage by the time she scanned the last one :)

      • Anonymous says:

yeah, that’s what I think too……….i’ve used coupons in the past at target where the register didn’t adjust them and I was able to use the overage for the other items. I wasn’t thinking; but still made out pretty good, so I’m still happy. Plus I sent in for the mail in rebate, if I get the 3.50 back, then I woul have really spent 1.44 for everything I bought : )

  29. My husband and I went into target yesterday and the computer would not accept a couple of the coupons…the employees were sweet and they tried but I ended going to customer service…I paid 5.45 OOP and my husband paid 5.95 OOP…but after going to customer service..they gave us back a refund of 5.00..so actually we paid 6 and change…did not quite work out, but paying 6 for all those items was still great..we ended with 2 five dollar gift cards..

  30. Anonymous says:

I don’t understand how you can absorb any overage if the $3/1 coupon gets adjusted down and target doesn’t allow overage. Pls explain.

    • Michelle Roxchester says:

I got the Overage for my purchase, and it was absorbed to the other groceries that I bought at that time.

Note for those who didn’t get the deal: Don’t feel bad I got the febreeze oil warmers but the oil twin pack is $8.99, now I’m stuck w/ 4 empty oil warmers.. . ironically not a great deal if I can’t use them!

  32. I didn’t get the $5 coupon! and I told the cashier and she said the set and refresh were not part of the promotion :(

  33. Anonymous says:

Well…how are you getting the overage if Target doesn’t give overage…?

    • Aj Smith says:

Let’s say you only are using 2 coupons…1 – $3.00 off for the $2.50 warmer and $1.00 for the $2.50 Set and Refresh You will notice both coupons stay at face value and it actually takes another $0.50 of the Set and Refresh bringing it to $1.00 instead of the $1.50…Hope this helps

I had done the initial deal twice on Sunday. After I saw the Warmer deal, I did two separate deals today and was able to throw in some of the candles which were more expensive (especially since I used up my Air Effects and Set/Refresh ones on Sunday!). Not always the lowest OOP, but not bad considering my total haul.

  35. Anonymous says:

    • ashley willis says:

where is the clearance area at for these items in walmart usually? would it be on the same aisle or a different section of the store?

      • Anonymous says:

It seems to be in a different place in all of the walmarts that ive been to. Just ask the greeter when you enter the store if they have a clearance area. It usually seems to be around the garden department area. Good luck!

Isnt the refills for these kinda expensive or do they go on sale alot? I know we got a coupon for 50 cent off in the paper. But isnt Glade and Air WIck usually the cheaper way for fragrance refills? their seems to be higher value coupons for Airwick like right now i have $1.50 off twin pack of refills and they are usually like $4 at Dollar General or walmart. But I do like Febreeze scents better sometimes than Glade or Airwick. So hopefully they will go on sale. Oh well i guess we will already have the warmers when they do lol. I wont be able to do the Target deal cause the closest one to me is 40 miles away. I guess ill be going to Walmart and hoping i can spot some on clearance.

  40. Anonymous says:

are these the only febreze items that are included in the gift card deal? does anyone know if the candles are in the participating items?

  41. Anonymous says:

do these warmers come with scents or are they sold separately?

  42. Anonymous says:

Hi guys! I just came from Target and this deal did not work very well for me. Once the gift card is activated it will not allow your balance due to be below 5.00. So when handing over coupons at the end of the transaction it well then not accept any coupons that make the payment due less then $5.00.
Perhaps either absorb the $5.00 in additional purchases or try handing over coupons before the last qualifying item is rung up..if that makes sense.

    • Kristin says:

I had the same problem. But there isn’t anything in the coupon policy that states that if there is a gift card promotion that you can’t use coupons. So I am going to bring the policy with me and try again. They have to be able to override the register but the chick I dealt with said she couldn’t.

      • Anonymous says:

I agee. Good luck, let us know how it turns out.
Also, be aware that if you choose to return the products that did not have a coupon applied to them, you will get back a reduced price due to the gift card.

        • Lynn Smith says:

The same thing happened to me earlier today; the manager tried several times to get the coupons to go thru, but said that due to the promotion it seemed as tho the system was only allowing 3 coupons to be used. So, no money maker for me:-(

          • Anonymous says:

I had the same problem today. So I told the cashier to cancel the whole transaction, and redid again with each item following the coupon. As soon as it scanned the 5th item, it rang up the gift card for cashier to scan, then it wouldn’t accept another coupon, Still, I paid $2.95 (tax included) OOP and got $5 GC. Happy with that.

  45. I just called the target corp. number and they said target managers have the right to limit the amount of coupons per store, so if they only wanted to let me use one they could do so if they wanted to? I do not see anything in the coupon policy that says how many coupons they can or cannot allow tho.

I have the same issue here with cvs and wags! It is so irritating to drive around to the 4 different stores of each when there is a good deal only to find that EVERYTHING has been cleared. Then if that isn’t bad enough, they have the shipment days/times down so by the time I get there… gone again. I make sure it I do happen to be the first or one of the first to the deal, there is always more for others. It is pretty frustrating when ppl don’t share the same idea. I know how u feel sophia.

No it isn’t legal, the fine print on the coupons DOES state “coupon not valid if purchasing for resale”…but no one cares where you got what at a flea market so they get away with it…I always wonder what percentage of flea market merchandise was actually stolen out of my neighbor’s house or something lol.

Exactly its gettin to the point of bein ridiculous though I have a family of seven and could actually use this stuff it helps out my fqmily but people like her are selfish greedy people and all she cares about is making a quick buck I think it might be illegal to sell food though I don’t no I could be wrong.

    Hi -

I love you site but am kind of new at this. Our Target in Cleveland said they would only adjust the $3.00 coupon down to the $2.50 price if the coupon has the words (Up to $3.00 – making it an “adjustable coupon”) in the value. If it is a straight $3.00 off a product that costs $2.50 they will not accept it at all. Does this sound correct?

    Thansk.

    Dan in Cleveland

    • Anonymous says:

Dan, i guess it really just depends on which target you go to. At my target in tampa,fl they accept overages but do not give cash back. you have to have enough product to cover the overage

  55. I found this on Target coupon policy. So how was everyone else able to use the overage; when it states that we can’t. Confused…

■Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
■We can’t give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.

    • Lynn Smith says:

My thoughts are exactly the same here. So if they go according to their policy they will adjust the warmer coupons down, then you will end up paying $3.00 OOP, not $1.50. It’s still a $2 MM; just not as good as the original deal

    • Anonymous says:

YMMV at your Target, but the way this transaction worked for me is I handed her the $3 coupons first. They all went through at $3 even though that is higher than the item they were applying to. But, the other coupons I gave her adjusted down to the balance that was left. In other words, one item may allow an overage, but once the grand total is hit, there will be no overage. If you have other items in your cart, this works out better. Hope that makes sense ;)

My Target would never let me use 3 of the same coupon in a transaction. They only allow one like coupon per transaction. That’s why I don’t waste my time in their store.

    • Anonymous says:

U need to bring their coupon policy..it even stated on the coupon that you can use 4 like items! i always asked for the manager…if i know I’m right, I will stick to it :)

      • I just got back from there and what a mess! My target manager said only 2 like coupons allowed there, think I need to find and print the coupon policy for my target! I had to reajust to make it out into 3, 5 item transactions :(

        • Crystal I would ask them where they get there information. My entire ordeal with anystore that tries to limit my coupon usage is you can limit the number of items I can buy. what you CAN’T do is limit the numbers of coupons I use unless stated on the coupon itself. It is 1 store and 1 manufacter coupon per item, unless otherwise stated. So I would call coorporate.

    • Laura Bradshaw Baucom says:

You can only use 4 “like” coupons. So, as long as one coupon is different, the transaction will work out. KCL used 2 of one kind of coupon and three of another. HTH!

I bought this deal yesterday, I also found nyquil (vixks products) and had the P&G $3.00 off any two Vicks products. The nyquil was on clearance for 3.14 a box. Scored my first “BIG” deals at Target yesterday! YAY!

  62. Nicole Soule says:

Targets here automatically adjust coupons when scanned, so there is never overage, even to use on the same item. I will end up paying $3 but I am more then happy to take $2 mm!!

I know we can only use 4 like coupons per transaction but I was able to do this scenario 4 times in one transaction and paid $2 for 20 items!!

4 febreze with grain $10, used 4 $1 febreze with grain from RP 8/14 pay $6.00
    4 febreze set/refresh $10, used 4 $1 set/refresh from PG 08/28 pay $6.00
4 febreze air effects $10, used 4 $1 air effects from PG 08/28 pay $6.00
    4 febreze regular $10, used 4 $1 febreze any Parade insert 8/28 pay $6.00
4 febreze warmers $10, used $3 warmers from PG 08/28 paid $0, and $2 extra
Total: $24.00 minus $2 extra from warmers equals $22 minus $20 giftcard (four $5) equals $2.00 plus tax :) Not sure the exact taxes because I bought extra :)

By the way!!!!!!!! do you know there is two sets of coupons on Buy two olay body wash bars, wash that has no restriction (picture of big body wash) and the other buy two olay body wash bars etc with trial restriction. This is a great deal!!

    2 olay bar total 1.98 use $1.00 PG 08/28 paid $1.00
2 satin care shaver total $5.08, use buy bar,get it for free from PG 7/31 pay $0.00
Total $1.00 plus tax for four items

If you have a lot of coupons to expire, you can repeat them but again!!!! you can only do 4 like coupons per transaction.

    happy shopping!!!!!!!!

  67. Isn’t this a money maker? When I add up the deal you have listed, you end up paying $3.00 and then receive the $5 gift card, so you make $2. Is my math wrong or is yours? lol, sorry, just trying to not be confused.

    • Sandra Lopez says:

Me neither! How is it $1.50? If she says Target doesnt overage? Someone please! =)

      • Anonymous says:

I think Target does not give you overage as cash to walk out with, but if you have other items that can absorb the overage, then it should be fine. “I think”, but might be wrong

Yes you can buy more than one “set” of a promotion. In this case in particular, however, you have to pay close attention to the coupon per transaction limits and split your transactions.

  76. Also in the walmart section of the paper you can clip the 1.00 any febreeze product and buy like brazilian carnival febreeze and hawaii one and the nice smelling ones! I can’t wait to go back tomorrow and buy candles and all the other things!

      • Do you have to do it in separate transactions if you are planning on getting more than one gift card? Or can I buy 10 items and get two cards in one transaction?

        • Our target stores (in Phoenix, AZ) don’t have a limit.. I bought at least 10 razors a month or two ago.. got quite a few of the 5 dollar gift cards in the same transaction. Good luck!

        • KC117 says:

coupons state only 4 like coupons per transaction so u must separate because of that. Target does not limit you to one gift card per order.

        • I shop for than just my family of 8 so I always do large amounts of everything. I did 20 of these, and then went back and did 20 more , once they restocked. Both times I was able to do 1 transaction. But I had 5 People with me and let them know it was identical transactions. They chose to combine them to save time and every time 5 of the Febreeze were scanned, it notified the cashier to scan a Gift Card,
Another note is that you can not have all the $5 gift cards placed on One gift card. You have to scan a new one each time. I think this may be set up deliberately to prevent cashier abuse. I Paid Total $1.59 per set of 5 and received back $5.00 GC on each one. So It was a Profit of $3.41 per set!!!

  78. oooooooooooooo……this would go great with my air freshener stock pile from the past couple weeks ;)

    • Anonymous says:

There is a limit of 4 like coupons per transaction with these P&G coupons. So, you could do up to 4 and add in a 5th item that uses a different coupon. :)

      • Anonymous says:

I used 3-3.00 off warmers and 2-1.00 off set and refreshes and target wouldn’t allow the 5th coupon b/c it was a “like” item. They said that it didn’t matter that it was a different coupon. They’re all proctor and gamble, therefore, no 5th coupon allowed. :(

        • Anonymous says:

They wouldn’t take my 5th coupon either, but it was because the coupons were making the purchase less than the $5 gift card, and the register wouldn’t take it. So I ended up buying 2 set & Refresh, 2 Warmers, and 1 candle. I used (2) $1/1 Set & Refresh, (2) $3/1 Warmers, and (1) $2/1 Candle. My total was $15, I had $10 in coupons, so my total was $5 and I got the $5 gift card. Everything was free (except tax of .73)

        • Anonymous says:

I believe they wouldn’t take the 5th coupon because of the overage, not because it’s P&G. At least, that wouldn’t be a valid reason if they are not taking it because it is P&G. That’s incorrect. It is not a “like coupon” if it is the only one of its kind ;) The register probably just wouldn’t take it and they didn’t understand why, so that’s what they assumed. But my guess is that it is because of the overage created by the last coupon. Did you have other items to absorb the overage, or just the Febreze?

          • Anonymous says:

I was just buying the Febreeze. I realized later that I probably could have just purchased something else for the overage. But I’m happy with my 5 free items plus I love the febreeze 30 hour candles!

            • Anonymous says:

That’s a good idea to get the candle. I had the same trouble as 99% of us when it came to that 5th coupon. I ended up buying 2 of the air fresheners and 2 of the noticeables with the coupons then just because the register thought it’d be nice it wouldn’t let the final noticeable coupon go thru so i bought that and got my giftcard. I only spent $5 (and tax) too. But I went up to walmart and used my remaining coupon and got some overage. :)
