It says right in their coupon policy that if the coupon amount exceeds the product amount they will adjust the coupon down.

OMG I had the worse experience ever at my walgreens.  I tried getting 4 products and the cashier and the assistant manager refuse to take the 4th coupon!!  I explained to them why it is not taking the last coupon and what to do and even broke it down but they all stood there and refuse to do it.  The assistant manager say it can not be don’t because the register is set up a certain way and it won’t do it.  She didn’t even try!! and then the cashier was saying it cannot be reduce because the coupon doesn’t have the box to write the new value of the coupon!!! I even whipped out my coupon policy and they read it out loud and still stood there and tell me it can’t be done………  I was so upset I just left the store.. -______-  I am giving the store manager a piece of my mind in the morning!!!

  3. Anonymous says:

I carry mine in a sheet protector and had it ready to show as well! They told me that it is still up to the discretion of the manager if they allow a coupon to be adjusted down and this particular manager wouldn’t!

  4. Anonymous says:

I had the same problem and had multiple other items totaling over $22.00 and they still wouldn’t take the 2nd coupon, which I don’t understand because Walgreens coupon policy states that “In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item.” So, they should have adjusted the 2nd coupon down a penny!

  5. Just got back from WAGS…I had the best experience! I was nervous after reading what ppl were saying about having problems with the cashiers…I was thinking about just heading over to CVS and paying .99 BUT why pay when you can get it for free so off I went.  I asked the cashier before I started if she was familiar with the coupon policy on BOGO’s she said “you can use a coupon on each” and I said “all right…and as I was about to tell her she’d probably have to adjust them she was right on top of it.  I’m no longer afraid of WAGS :) I hope she’s working the next time i go!

  6. Laura Moreno says:

Then they should have adjusted one of the coupons down to $2.99.

    • Patrick says:

Yes…I agree, they should’ve just adjusted the coupon value down to the price of the item…My local Walgreen’s is actually very good at handling these situations. I never have any trouble with them. They always just manually override the amount of the coupon in the register (when the coupon is valued higher than the actual item costs) and manually enter a new amount that equals the price of the product and then they cross out the original amount on the coupon and write in the amount that they actually gave me for the coupon value. Works like a charm!

If Walgreens didn’t have such good deals I wouldn’t shop there anymore!!!  It’s so frustrating when the employees don’t even know the coupon policy!  That is part of thier job!  The first time I tried this deal, I got 6 products and handed the cashier 6 coupons, and she said “I can’t use all of these”.  I asked her why, and she replied because you are getting one for Free.  I told her that the coupon policy stated I could use 1 coupon per product, but ofcourse I forgot my printed policy.  So a line began to build up behind me and I just asked her to void them.  I came home so frustrated and told my husband about it.  He tried to call the store 4 times to speak with a manager but nobody even answered the phone!
Last night I went to another WAGS, this time with my coupon policy in hand, and still the cashier had no clue how to make this deal work!  The 6th coupon wouldn’t take, so I paid the $4 & change and then waited to speak with a manager, who then gave me my $3 back!  What a hassle!!!!!!!  But 6 hair products for tax alone….I guess it’s worth the run-around!  UGH!

  8. Toni Mincey says:

I did succeed at walgreens in getting this deal, yes the register kicked it back and wouldnt take the second coupon but lucky me i got a cashier that was an older man and he just looked at my items seen i got two products and manually entered $3.00 off manufacture coupon so i guess it was luck that i didn’t have to fight with them this time, back last summer when they ran the same deal with the mens body wash i had a cashier that did have to charge me 2 cents for the same concept but that worked for me!

  9. Edith Chaves says:

you could get these for .99 cents at rite aid they’re on sale for $3.99 but i think the sale ends today… is it just me or did the website change?? lol looks different

  10. Teresa Welch says:

I got 2 yesterday and my Walgreens had plenty of stock..I was surprised :)

  11. Anonymous says:

I thought I was the only one running into issues. I brought 4 products and had my 4 coupons ready.  Then when I got to check out the manager tells me they can’t pay me the the two cents but they would take my other 3 coupons.  I was like WHAT???!!!!  I never had a problem before.  But it looks like Walgreens is only willing to give FREE if it is an exact amount.  The manager was like “You want the product for free?”  I said yes you are going to get the full $3 back from the manufacture so why shouldn’t I have the product.  He said I made a good point but it was in the store manager’s hands and he wasn’t in. He said I still got a good deal I said says you because you are still getting $2.98 from me instead of just taxes.  I left because I had my children with me and I didn’t want them to see that side of mommy LOL!

  12. Brie W says:

I went to Walgreens yesterday and tried the Got2B and HELP Products Freebie, and had a couple more items for fillers, and they wouldn’t do it.  They told me that they cant use a coupon on a free item.  I busted out my policy and showed them that I could use two coupons on b1g1 offers, and she highlighted this portion:  “When items are featured in a Buy One, Get One Free
promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as
long as the net price does not go below zero for the items being purchased.
”  She said since the value of the coupn exceeded the purchase price, they cannot accept both coupons, and they dont do adjustments.  I left the store without my items, and called their corporate.  Was I wrong?

    • akilah smallwood says:

I had the same problem. My Walgreen’s Manager even tried to override this for me but it just wouldn’t take it and he said that the new register systems wouldn’t allow it even when he tried…bummed out

    • Chelsea says:

It also says in their policy that they will adjust the coupon down if the coupon amount exceeds the product amount. Tell that to corporate when you call!

  13. Anonymous says:

Another similar story to add to the frustrations of shopping at walgreens. They would not take the 4th Q. I find that weird because if the cashier scanned 4 items with 2 being zero, why did they take the 3rd Q? He tried to scan the Q 2-3 times and did it manually with no luck. Manager came by and asked me to get a filler. Still no luck. She said I can’t use a Q for something thats free. I told her about the policy and she said sorry if it doesn’t scan or beeps she can’t do jack. So I just wind up buying 2 more to use the 4th Q. $1.50 isn’t so bad but FREE would’ve been even better!! Not going to that walgreens anymore especially buying BOGO+coupons anymore. Coulda adjusted my Q but she won’t =( We live in a society where using coupons are becoming the norm! Get with the program and please learn the policy and how to deal with coupons!!

  14. I am frustrated because I never get Red Plum.  Where can I get Red Plum coupons to print out?

    • Toni Mincey says:

honestly, you cant get all the same coupons to print but go on ebay and buy the ones you want they sell them in full inserts or just the coupons you want. i got 10 of the same coupon for the got2b for 1.49 that is cheaper than buying the paper for 1!

  15. Anonymous says:

I appreciate those who made complains About the walgreens policy. Because of your action they are now accepting BOGO and coupon altogether with a limit of 4. I was able to get them for free yesterday in my area with no hussel. All the managers in my place are now in agreement… Finally!

By the way if the value of the coupon exceed to the total cost what they do is lower down the amount of the last coupons.

  16. It Worked for me i got both products for free I got a card  as a filler item for 1.00. SO they took both of my coupons. i like my Walgreens there so nice about accepting my coupons.

  17. Anonymous says:

I must be lucky because my most frequent Walgreens (in Missouri) is the absolute best!  The manager is extremely nice to the couponers and so is his staff.  I sometimes have problems at Wal-Mart but have gotten that resolved to0.  I was able to use the Purina One Beyond coupon and walk out with almost $40 of meat from my overage.  One Wal-Mart refused the coupon because of the overage, so just went to another!

  18. I had hassle using the coupons as well. But they eventually did it. They had to change the prices of each item to $3.

Simply because the coupon would not work because the total for both items is $5.99, their coupon policy states that you cannot use two coupons on a BOGO promo if the total falls below zero. That is why.

The manu q is equal to $6.. so the .01 throws it all off.

  19. Gina says:

I got told that I could NOT use 2 coupons…so i googled Walgreens Coupon policy and YES it says they CAN take 2 MFC, and they can go online and check it out!!! I KNOW I am Right =_

  20. Brittany Shores says:

It still wouldn’t take it off – I’m a WAG employee, too. I had a $8 filler item and unlike most coupons with carry over b/c of employee discount, this one won’t carry over. It simply kicks it out. That isn’t a reason to just leave WAG, there’s nothing the cashier can do about it!

  21. erica madison says:

I’m in northern CA and I just did this deal. The cashier and the manager were very nice. They were unaware that Walgreens coupon policy allows you to use a coupon with a Bogo deal, but the manager was nice enough to go look it up, and came back and reduced my second coupon to 2.99. Nicest manager and cashier I ever met, no funny looks or attitudes. Walmart could learn a thing or two from them. I got two Got2be pomades for  $0.65-which was pure tax. All in all a great day. Thanks KCL for posting this deal!

  22. rose d says:

walgreens did not want to take my coupons either but they scanned right on through. I bought other stuff I had with my coupons though so there was no overage. I walked out the door with 57 dollars worth of stuff for like 4.53. I think it is the overage setting off there registers. They have now changed the ad so the sale for got2b does not even show up on their online ad. They have also took down the 2/5.99 sign and put up buy one get one free signs in the stores in my area, and a disclaimer that they will only except one coupon per purchase of two.  That way they could claim print ad error and legally get away with not honoring the coupons.  I for one don’t see the big deal as long as people only use 4 like coupons at a time as stated then Walgreens gets all that money back. I think they are just being greedy.

  23. Anonymous says:

I got 4 of these yesterday morning at Walgreens!  My last coupon beeped.  The cashier said “I know you have four of these, so why is it beeping?”.  She tried again and it beeped.  I politely told her that they would usually reduce the coupon price.  She pushed it through!  She didn’t give me any trouble at all, very nice ladies working at Walgreens here.  Such nice southern people.  All I paid for was the Disney gummies that were BOGO as well.  So $4.74 is my total.

  24. Anonymous says:

I am not seeing the Got2b in my Walgreens flyer? What page is it? Wonder if its regional as well?

  25. Okay, I called my Walgreens and they said they will adjust the coupon down so I can get the items free. But I’m still confused. People are getting 4 free? If I have two of the RedPlum Manufacterers coupons how many free Got2B products can I get? I just want to make sure Im doing this right.

  26. is this regional cos it wasnt in my Sunday W ad?…

  27. Danielle Laroff says:

So my walgreens would only take 3 coupons on 4. They absolutely refused to adjust the price by the penny, and claimed the computers would not let them. Even with the policy, the only reason I didn’t argue was because a line of 10 people grew behind me. But .75 cents each still isn’t a bad deal.

  28. My Coupons says:

My son uses this product to maintain his mohawk. It works great to make sure that once the hair stands up…it doesn’t fall down; not rain, wind or snow :-)  It takes a bit of extra scrubbing but it does come out in the shower. He has also used the variety of colors version of Got2B :)

  29. Yeah they told me they wouldn’t take more than 1 coupon per transaction as well and were rude about it

  30. Anonymous says:

I love the Got2b products. I have a little mazda miata convertible and roll with the top down all the time. Their hair spray really holds when no other will. I like their serum. It makes my hair shine and soft. I just tried the dry shampoo and it works okay but I think my application was wrong and it was operator error if you will.

  31. Anonymous says:

A lot of people are having trouble at walgreens I guess. I plan to match the price at walmart this weekend! I just got a cashier hooked on couponing so I know who to go to at checkout :)
I’ve never tried these products before. My hair’s naturally frizzy and thick and horrible ends. I can’t go a day without putting mouse or something in it to make it look normal. Any suggestions for which product?

  32. Anonymous says:

Just did this deal, got 4. My best advice is to let the cashier know up front that the last coupon will have to be adjusted down. I really wish their registers were like my CVS stores where it automatically pops up on the last coupon and says coupon can only be for ($2.96), they hit enter and it’s done, alas Walgreens does not, they leave it up to the cashier which adding in the human factor can cause many problems. The wording in their policy is not as clear as one would like and as we have all learned sometimes cashiers/managers like to interpret policies to the disadvantage of the customer.

One thing I see that has not been addressed is people questioning “filler” items thinking that would aleviate the problem. That is not necessary as this is not a “coupon-to-item-ratio” issue nor is it a “getting your subtotal over the value of the coupon” issue as this Got2Be is a manufacturer coupon for a specific product, not a register reward toward any item.

Walgreens likes very much to keep their customers happy and they try very hard to not have calls to corporate, I used to work there and I remember them doing a study on the cost of a corporate complaint being addressed, factoring in time and resources to salaries of managers, etc. to have to address the issue. It was determined, that within reason (0.50 difference in an item) is much easier to resolve on the spot and not utilize corporate resources to address a problem that would cost much more than the 0.50 in question. That being said, please make sure that you are using the coupons correctly. If you are, then you have no problem, but please don’t make a big stink when you are in the wrong. If you have trouble at one walgreens try another, in my area there are over 10 within 20 minutes or so, just like anything, you’ll find one that you like and it always makes the shopping experience much more pleasant.

    • Anonymous says:

When you live in a small town where the nearest one is 40 miles away, that doesn’t help. If we want the deals we “have” to go to that store.

      • Anonymous says:

I understand, I forget that not every area is as saturated as mine is. If you have troubles and that has to be your store due to necessity, I would definitely call corporate customer relations. They instated a corporate wide policy for a reason, while the managers have discretion, most are not going to turn away business when you show them your copy of the corporate coupon policy. Now if you’re trying to buy 20 like someone talked about earlier in the thread, I can see a mgr stepping in and limiting that. I hate that things aren’t more consistent with all of these stores, really should be addressed during a new employee orientation, would sure cut back on a lot of problems.

  33. Jody Cabanaw says:

the Cashier tried that on me and I asked if they could take the second coupon as 2.99 and she said as a matter of fact the manager said they could do that so I got my free two got 2 b glued products :)

    • Chelsea says:

So you asked them to adjust it down for you and it worked?? Did you have to buy any other filler items? Do you think if I did this deal and purchased other items along with it, it would work?

      • Anonymous says:

It states in the policy if the coupon exceeds the price of the item, they have to reduce it.  If you ask them politely they will.  You don’t need a filler item.  I bought 4 Got2b products and 2 Disney Gummy vitamins.  My 4th coupon for the Got2b beeped at the register.  I asked her politey about reducing the last coupon and she pushed it through.  I only paid $4.74 for the gummy vitamins, which is a good deal.

      • Jody Cabanaw says:

Chelsea, I actually bought a birthday card and a couple of soda.  Yes the lady working at the register said that the manager had okay’d for them to adjust the coupon to 2.99 so I got two free.

      • Anonymous says:

I had several filler items in my transaction that totaled over $22.00 and the 2nd coupon still wouldn’t go through, when I asked them politely if they would adjust the 2nd coupon down a penny, she said it was up to the manager’s discretion and they didn’t do that here!

  34. Anonymous says:

I never get the good coupons-our paper no longer has the smart source and if I get a red plum it has 6 coupons or so-none of them any good

  35. Anonymous says:

Albany, NY – no got2b in the RP insert.  Can anyone trade?  I would love 4 but I’ll take 2 if you have them.  I have 5 copies of the 2/11 and 2/4 RP and Smartsource if you want to trade.  Thanks!!

  36. Anonymous says:

Does anyone know how to apply a clipped coupon to an on-line order? I’d like to buy some of these on-line and have tried several variants of the number on the mq but it doesn’t apply to the cart… Anyone done this with success?

  37. I love their dry shampoo with collagen!

  38. Jennifer Wright says:

do you have to have a rewards card to get this dea?

    • Anonymous says:

No, Walgreens does not have a Reward card. This deal also is not advertised in the weekly add but there should be tags on the shelf stating the deal and that it is thru 2/25. If there aren’t tags on the shelf, have them ring up two Got2B items and see if the 2nd item rings up $0.00.

  39. Anonymous says:

No redplum I’m my paper today. Bummer!!!!! Really wanted this deal. Now I have to wait until my coupons come from Fla. I love my Walgreens here in Montgomery al I never have problems they are the.best!!!!!!

  40. Anonymous says:

I had to explain the definitions purchase vs. transaction to my store manager today, yet he still didn’t get it. I’m wondering was it because I’m English that he couldn’t understand my accent, or is he just not that smart???

  41. I live in east Texas and awhile back the Walgreens in my area stop letting you use two coupons in the B1G1 deals…At least CVS still allows me to use both of them…

  42. Our Walgreens wouldn’t take the second coupon. :(  But, even paying $1.50 a piece isn’t bad…would have rather got them free though. :)

  43. Susan Ray says:

I just went to my Walgreens and bought 2 “help, I have a” products where they have a B1 at 3.99, G1 free going on.  I bought 2 of the products and a newspaper and used 2 $2/1 mfr coupons for the “help..” products and paid 1 cent less than I would have paid for the paper by itself.  AWESOME!  I kind of did this as a test to see if the Got2b deal will work and so far, so REALLY good!

  44. Connie Wails says:

if you can find this deal in the walgreens flyer, wouldnt it be easier  just to take the flyer to walmart and have them honor it?

  45. Anonymous says:

I went to cvs they are on sale for $3.99 after $3/1 Q $.99 not bad and no headache at walgreens, I dont even like to shop there anymore always problems and the cashier seems to make up their own policy

  46. i tried going in this morning and my cashier wouldn’t take it the second coupon because the second item rings up to 0.00? ??

  47. That is the reason I would never to go a clipping service. They say that they are only charging for their service but why do they charge more to clip a higher value coupon.

  48. Anonymous says:

I rwad the wags policy & it says that you can use 2 coupons on a bogo iteme as long as it doesnt reach $0. But using 2 $3 mc would make that free. So doesn’t that go against their policy?

  49. Katie L says:

Also—DEFINETLY make sure you take the coupon policy!! :) :) Whenever I go couponing, I always have a copy of the store’s policy to reduce the troubles I sometimes have.

  50. Katie L says:

A lot of newspapers didn’t have the coupons… :( too bad people want $2 a coupon on eBay!

  51. Becky Porter says:

I went in there last night and had no issues….  I got 6 for free – and still a ton left :) I love that my Wags puts their signs up early so I can get their sale prices for the next week, early :)

  52. My Walgreens is charging $5.99 with a BOGO free. Still not a bad price $1.50 each I suppose. I also had a small issue with a cashier on my 2nd transaction, but with some sweet talking it worked out.

  53. Anonymous says:

Same for me, deal didn’t work.  What else is new where Walgreens is concerned?

this is the second time that red plum has let me down:((  For some reason the one product that I want in this weeks inserts didnt come in my papers redplum. ugh, I love Got2be hairspray, and I would have loved to stock up.

wrigley- email me at Savingsbycoupons@yaho.com I have 2 i can send you. My walgreens will not adjust down the price, even after i showed the coupon policy and complained…its not even worth me trying for this deal….

  55. For those of you having trouble with cashiers accepting coupons, try what I did…I placed my products at the register and explained to the cashier that I have 4 items, two of which were bogo, and 4 coupons to accompany them HOWEVER, it will create a $.04 overage and the last coupon will inevitably make the machine beep so she will need to manually enter in the last coupon as $2.96.  She listened, it worked, and I got my hair products!  Also, be sure to arm yourself with a copy of the policy (just in case) and pull it out if needed :-)

    • Anonymous says:

      You handled this perfectly!

    • Anonymous says:

I do this every time, they know me, and when a coupon beeps they look to me to find out why. Even the managers listen.

    • Anonymous says:

wouldn’t they only need to adjust it down to $2.98? remember only 2 products are ringing up for 5.99…so 5.99 x2 = 11.98.

  56. I have had problems with my local Walgreens with couponing. I don”t understand why when they will get reimbursed anyway. My suggestion is every time we encounter bad customer service, we report it to corporate right away.

  57. Anonymous says:

Somewhere in their coupon policy it says that they have to adjust it down!

  58. Anonymous says:

I didnt get this coupon in my Red plum in Sparks, Nevada

  59. Anonymous says:

I did not get a coupon in my redplum either

  60. Anonymous says:

Maybe, just guessng here, that the problems you guys are having is that Walgreens ads/Sales change on Sunday.  If you use the coupon BEFORE sunday, it might not be in their computer system yet.

    • Anonymous says:

That isn’t the problem here because the Got2b is on sale B1G1 free all month long (until the 25th), not just this week.  So it won’t matter when they use the coupons, it should still work.

  61. Anonymous says:

the policy states the coupon value can not exceed the cash value. if the price is 5.99 and the coupons  are 6.00 the cashier does not have to take it. mine did not. grrrr

    • 1youcantoo says:

they can adjust the coupon just mention it and say they have always done it before and they will.

    • Anonymous says:

Their coupon policy says: “In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will accept the coupon for the selling price of the item.” Which means they should have adjusted the second coupon down a penny to make it $2.99!

  62. Anonymous says:

if the price is 5.99b/o/g/o and the coupon value is 6.00 the cashier does not have to take it under their policy of”coupon value can not exceed selling price”

  63. Some of the Walgreen’s here in Cleveland (I saw them in Chicago also) have new registers (with a large screens), which regulate coupon usage.  Acceptance of the 2nd coupon on a free item will not scan and many of the deals in which you have to purchase a certain amount to get a Register Reward.  For example, the other week when I tried to purchase the Maalox for $20.  The Register Reward did not print, the manager stated because the coupons had reduced the cost of the products purchased.  She went to the register, gathered the coupons while I went to grab 2 more bottles.  After I added the 2 more bottles to the order, she scanned all the coupons plus the additional 2 I had for the add-ons.  THEN, the Register Reward printed.  So now, I pick and choose the Walgreen’s I travel to, because all have their own policies and procedures.  Just as the 2 Walgreen’s (and a major grocery store that’s part of a chain) in my neighborhood (inner city), don’t accept internet coupons.

    • Anonymous says:

I had this problem with at the Walgreens on Rockside rd(Independence) a few months ago…I won’t be stopping at that one anymore:)  They told me that I can’t use previous register rewards on items that have register rewards(The register rewards I were using were from previous deals the week before).  Didn’t make any sense…since I go to Walgreens all over since I travel alot!

  64. Anonymous says:

The coupon  was not in my red plum. Is it an actual Got2b coupon? There were several John Freida coupons in there, but not Got2b

  65. Dannella says:

Hi.  I also had trouble with this.  I got my coupons early and tried it Friday night.  First, they said I can’t use it on the free product.  Then when I took a copy of the policy in yesterday, they said I can’t use it because of what the coupon says.  You know the part about a single item in a single transaction, no more than 4 coupons in a shopping trip?  They said that means I can only use 1 coupon.  I tried to explain that it means one coupon per item, up to 4 items w/coupon and they didn’t believe me!  I took the store manager’s name so I can contact Walgreens customer service.  Anyone have any advice on how to approach it when their Customer Service office opens tomorrow?

    • Celeste says:

Just contact the 1-800# on their website. I always call corporate when I have problems. Corporate will handle it.

    • Anonymous says:

I have decided to hold all stores whether cashiers or managers accountable to their corporate office. That is the only way we will get them to understand and follow it. I am a retired teacher and that was the only way to get it through children’s heads was to be consistent with discipline. We have to treat them as little children who need to learn.

So frustrating when we dont receive coupons like this in our inserts! WNY area gets jipped alot! Also got $1/2 Ludens instead of $1/1. And there’s nothing good on sale this week other than that either!! At least I can get free light bulbs from RITE AIDS, $3.99 – $3 in ad q – $1q in our RP although I’ve been picking up light bulbs all month for .99 from Rite Aid…

    • Anonymous says:

Same here.  I’m always excited to read about a great deal and then end up being frustrated because our RP or SS doesn’t contain the needed coupon.

Sometimes when you have a coupon come out in one part of the country it will come the next week in another part of the country, same goes for sales at different stores, the sale will either be a week or two latter or a week early.

They are $6.79 not $5.99 in so cal. Still not bad but not Free

    • Anonymous says:

All stores are different in pricing.  Ours here in Texas is $5.99 and it was a BOGO offer.

    • erica madison says:

sylvr1, I’m in northern cal and at first i thought that the Got2be was $6.79, but there is a bogo tag underneath the price that says buy 1 at $5.99 and get one free. Might be worth it to take another look:)

      • Anonymous says:

Thank you Erica. I went Saturday and they did ring up at $5.99 :)

Subject: [krazycouponlady] Re: Free Got2b Products at Walgreens!

  68. Anonymous says:

The tags say the bogo goes thru 2/25 on the shelf.

I dont recieve the redplum in our papers. will I be able to print from the website? My add doesnt show them being bogo free either =( i am confused

  70. Looking at the online ad, I do not see these as being bogo…

  71. Danielle Laroff says:

I’m REALLY hoping these coupons are in my region!!

  72. Edith Chaves says:

you can use 2 coupons even though one is free anyway?

    • Anonymous says:

Yes, but you’ll need to add a filler because the two MQs add up to $6, but the items are only $5.99.

      • Anonymous says:

Fillers only apply to Register Rewards. They should adjust the second coupon down to $2.99 according to their coupon policy. If your store is giving you the “whole” $3.00 for the coupon, then yes you need to put something in to “absorb” the overage which is against their coupon policy. It just depends on the store.

      • Anonymous says:

i did this trans action 4x’s in 4  and i did not need any filler my store manager even said you just need to modify the coupons do  2 for 3.00 and 2 for 2.99 and just pay the tax =)

Are these on sale for 2 weeks?  They have been on sale all week, and I got my Red Plum on Tuesday (we get ours by mail here, rather than in the local paper).  Needless to say, I stocked up.
I went to 2 Walgreens, and had no problems at one, and they would only take one of my coupons at the other, not both because it made the value of the coupons more than the product.  I asked the manager to adjust the coupon, but they would not budge.  Oh well……got 6 styling products for less than $5.00, including tax.  Not bad! :)

    • Anonymous says:

Don’t feel too bad about your purchases, but you should have stood your ground, they should all have been free! Offer runs through 2/25.

  74. so glad i got 10 of the product all for free only paid 2.10 for all the items

    • Anonymous says:

Jen ~ I did the same thing!  It rocked getting $60 worth of hair products for just the tax!!!

  75. Amy Flanigan says:

My walgreens ad isnt showing these as b1g1…  what page is it on? am I missing something here?

  76. Anonymous says:

I printed out the coupon policy because I knew they would give me a hard time. So when I pointed it out to them, they did mark the coupon down to $2.98 when I purchased 4

  77. Anonymous says:

I got my redplum in the Wednesday paper. So I went to Walgreens yesterday and picked up 8 of these and paid oop $2.16 just for taxes for  $47.92 worth of product!!

  78. silly gal says:

how are people trying this deal when the inserts come tomorrow morning?

  79. Anonymous says:

BOO!!! I didn’t get this Q in my redplum! Anyone care to trade other Q’s for these coupons? =)

  80. Anonymous says:

My brother likes these products. Since I was away on his birthday (5th) I’m planning on getting a few and throwing together a basket for him. Personally I’m very picky about style products. My hair is really sensitive and falls out very, very easily so these types of products are bad for me. :(

  81. Maria Lopez says:

I love my Walgreens but then again the cashiers are couponers too :))

  82. Anonymous says:

i did this deal 2 times it beeps 2 times , the manager came i told its in their  coupon policy  2 use mfc on free item as long as subtotal not went negative she took them and i got 4 of them for free…

  83. Anonymous says:

    There’s a Redplum from today?

  84. Anonymous says:

This is so frustrating! I went to Walgreens to try this deal and they refused to take my second coupon. After reading the coupon policy it looks like they should have! I’m going back and getting my money back!

    • Judith Vejar says:

I’m glad you are I had the most difficult day with them today too, I left there so frustrated as well

      • Anonymous says:

I have found Walgreens to be the worst at dealing with coupons! I almost always have problems!

        • Anonymous says:

Same thing happened to me!  They tried the ‘It says one per purchase ma’am’ bit on me.  I took my coupons and left.

          • Anonymous says:

How frustrating! That’s what they tried to tell me too. I wish people understood that coupons are a way to save money. I’m tired of being treated like a criminal for being smart with my money!

        • Anonymous says:

Have you ever noticed that every store that starts with a “W” is pain to coupon @, (ie, walmart, walgreens) LOL. Im sorry that happened to you maybe try a diff Walgreens? There is one wags in my area that is always well stocked and open 24 hours but they have the new registers and the cashiers there are b1tches, I have another one that’s right outside my apartment complex that isn’t 24 hrs and is smalller and less well stocked but all the cashiers there know me and are great. If they wouldn’t let me use both coupons I would’ve just left empty handed. I’m not gonna pay for something that I didn’t intend on buying until I could get it for free !

          • Anonymous says:

I know exactly what you mean! I’ve almost given up on Wal-Mart! I took both items back, and tried to explain the situation to both a supervisor and the store, manager. They both treated me like an idiot. One even took one of my coupons and started writing on it with red pen! I was so disgusted that I grabbed my refund and coupons and spent my money at CVS! I didnt, mind paying $.99 each, in exchange for good customer service! :-)

    • Same here! I just left the store. They refused to take both coupons.

      • Anonymous says:

I had the same problem and also sent a complaint! They should have adjusted the 2nd coupon to $2.99. Thanks for leaving the link! :)

    • Anonymous says:

U call complain and then get the store manager. I did that and taught him about the coupon policy. I ended up with my stuff and a free 20.00 gift card

    • Mary Smith says:

I put my coupon policy in a sheet protector and went armed with it this morning, I went with a cheerfull desposition not on th defensive like i realy wanted and when i gave her my products and coupons I asked her do you really know the coupon policy? cause today if you don’t know how this transaction is going turn out it will be a learning experience. Needless to say she she didn’t know and i taught her and left the policy with her after she was happy that i taught her something.  Not all cashiers would be willing to learn but they see me often and know I’m married to a cop and would never mess things up.  leson for me is to always have my coupon policy.
