Seniors, especially those retirees living on a fixed income, should really be taking advantage of the deals many grocery and retail stores offer to senior citizens. And some of us should be shopping with our parents and grandparents more often! Driving your sweet, elderly neighbor to the grocery store just got a lot more rewarding!
The most important lesson for the over-55-crowd to learn about senior discounts is to ALWAYS ASK! As a military wife, I’ve learned that I must always ask whether or not retailers offer a military discount. They often do, and if I hadn’t asked, I would have never known! The same goes for seniors! There’s not a thing wrong with asking each store’s policy and whether or not they give senior discounts!
