Black Friday is without a doubt the best time to buy a TV. And Black Friday 2023 certainly lived up to the hype with some amazing markdowns on TVs. This included insane TV deals at Walmart, Target, Amazon, and Best Buy. We even saw some Black Friday streaming deals including Hulu for $0.99/month for one year, Peacock for $1.67/month for one year, and MAX (HBO) for $2.99/month for 6 months. Here’s what we saw during the 2023 holiday season to help you prepare for the next big sale.

The best places for Cyber Monday TV deals are Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart.

Which retailers will have the best holiday TV deals in 2023?

If you’re looking for deep Black Friday discounts on top-rated smart TVs, Amazon and Best Buy are your best options. If you’re looking for a cheap TV (and aren’t as concerned with quality), look for Black Friday deals at Walmart or Amazon. You’ll be able to score a smart TV for less than $300. Don’t dismiss other top retailers though — Target rolls out a few killer TV deals for the holiday shopping season, too (and you can save an extra 5% with a Target RedCard).

Expect to pay as low as $80 to $100 on smaller TVs on Black Friday.

During the 2023 Black Friday sales, we saw the 24-inch Insignia Class F20 Series Smart HD Fire TV go on sale from $119.99 to $64.99. That’s a 46% savings. Many of these deals are ongoing through the holiday season.

We also saw a Walmart Rollback offer where the store marked a TCL 40-inch 1080p LED Smart TV with Fire TV down to just $99.99 or 57% off. Best Buy had an offer where they had 40-inch Hisense TVs on sale for just $99.99 for store members.

Bigger TVs will obviously cost more, but you can still find significant savings. For example, this year, we saw the Toshiba 75-inch 4K Smart Fire TV marked down from $799.99 to $499.99 on Amazon. That’s a 38% savings.

How much should I pay for TVs with Black Friday deals?

You’ll see a lot of TV deals on Black Friday, so comparing all the discounts, prices, and dollars off can get confusing. Stick to these four basic guidelines to help narrow your search:

  1. Keep a goal of 30% – 50% savings in mind as you weed out the best deals.
  2. Dismiss any TV deals for less than 20% off regular prices.
  3. The best deals are for 40% – 50% off (you may have to hunt, but they’re out there).
  4. If you can save 30% on a top-rated TV from LG, Samsung, or Sony, you’re getting a good deal.

We’ve already mentioned that Target RedCard holders can save an extra 5% on their purchases, which can feel significant on big-ticket items like TVs. Amazon Prime members get access to Prime-only deals, plus free two-day shipping.

2023 Black Friday TV Deals We Loved

The deals last year were insanely competitive. Many sold out within just a few hours. That said, here are the deals we hope make a comeback in 2024:

Walmart

You could find TVs for less than $100, like the RCA 32″ Smart TV which was marked down to $88 (36% off), and the onn. 43″ Class Roku Smart TV which sold for $98. For fancier models, shoppers saw up to 31% off on The Frame Smart TV.

Amazon

Amazon had the best discounts on their Fire TV models. Shoppers could save as much as 45% on the Amazon Fire TV 32″ 2-Series or 46% on the Insignia 24″ Class F20 Series Fire Smart TV. Needed a Fire Stick to go with the TV? Those were marked down by a whopping 50%.

Target

By comparison, Target had the best deals on Roku products. The Roku Express 4K+ was as low as $23.74, or 41% off. Similarly, the Westinghouse 43″ Smart Roku TV was 32% off. These offers could be stacked with a 10% tech Target Circle coupon and the 5% Target RedCard discount to save even more.

Best Buy

Best Buy had a large variety of models on sale, including the TCL 40-Inch 1080p LED Smart TV with Fire TV which was 57% off. Other notable deals included 33% off the LG 65-Inch LED 4K UHD Smart TV and 46% off the Insignia 24″ Class F20 Series LED HD Smart Fire TV.

Meijer

While there weren’t as many deals at Meijer, the one we did find was excellent. The Element 55″ 4K UHD HDR Xumo TV sold for $179.99 or 55% off.
