The next National Burrito Day will take place on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
National Burrito Day is on the first Thursday in April, and in 2025 that’s Thursday, April 3. Burritos were first introduced in the Dictionary of Mexicanisms in 1895 and directly translates to “little donkey.” It’s said that it was named after the bundles that appear on donkeys’ bedrolls.

Baja Fresh: Rewards members get a BOGO free burrito deal through tomorrow, National Burrito Day.
In 2024, rewards members could get BOGO burritos when you used the promo code NBD2024 during checkout at BajaFresh.com.
Bubbakoo's Burritos: Grab a BOGO free burritos deal on April 4.
On National Burrito Day, loyalty members could grab a BOGO free deal at Bubbakoo's Burritos. If you bought a burrito on April 4, you received a coupon for a free burrito at a later date.
Chronic Tacos: Loyalty members can get BOGO free burritos on National Burrito Day.
On National Burrito Day in 2024, Chronic Tacos Loyalty members could grab burritos BOGO free (excluding the California Burrito & Surf & Turf Burrito) at Chronic Tacos when you ordered through the Chronic Taco app. This deal was only valid for in-app orders.
Chipotle: Enjoy zero delivery fee on National Burrito Day.
In 2024, you could celebrate National Burrito Day with a few deals at Chiptole. You could get a BOGO free Chipotle burritos via Grubhub with orders of $20+. No promo code was needed. Plus, rewards members could get zero delivery fee when you used the promo code DELIVER at Chipotle.com or through the Chipotle app on National Burrito Day.
Chipotle also offered fans a chance to win a BOGO deal or burritos for a year!

Once there, you had to unlock the burrito vault by guessing two exact order combinations, ingredient by ingredient. Although there are over 1.34 billion possible burrito combinations, you had four attempts each day!
The first 50,000 people to correctly guess both combinations each day won a BOGO code via text.
All winners were automatically entered into the Chipotle's National Burrito Day sweepstakes, where 53 people were randomly selected to win burritos for a year (that's 52 reward credits for regular entree).

Freebirds: Grab $6 burritos, bowls, and salads all day on April 4.
In 2024, you could celebrate National Burrito Day with $6 burritos, bowls, and salads at Freebirds World Burrito. Discount was valid on their ($8.69+ Freebird-size) burritos, bowls and salads only for online, in-app, and in-store orders.
Miguel’s Jr.: Enjoy $1.99 burritos on National Burrito Day.
You could grab a classic Bean, Rice, and Cheese Burrito or Bean and Cheese Burrito at Miguel's Jr., for $1.99 on National Burrito Day, no promo code was necessary. This offer was valid for dine in or takeout only.
Moe’s Southwest Grill: Get BOGO burritos or bowls on National Burrito Day.
Moe’s Southwest Grill offered BOGO free burritos and bowls. This deal was available for in-store and online orders through the Moe’s app or website.
Moe’s Rewards members could also enter Moe's Burritos on Us for a Year Giveaway on National Burrito Day. To enter, you had to "check-in" through your Moes Rewards account. There were a few ways to enter:
You had to scan your rewards account QR code to earn or redeem rewards, or place an order via their app, or scan a receipt.
Anyone could enter the giveaway via Instagram and Facebook. All you had to do was comment and tag a friend on Moe’s National Burrito Day post.

Pancheros Mexican Grill: Win a free burrito on National Burrito Day.
Pancheros Mexican Grill gave away 10,000 burritos via their social media in celebration of National Burrito Day. Here's how to could enter:

On April 4, you had to watch for them to drop 2,500 promo codes (four times) at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. CT (10 a.m., 12 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. ET).

On National Burrito Day you could get $8.99 (regularly up to $13.99) burritos at Rubios.com or in the Rubio's app when you used the promo code BURRITO during checkout. For in-restaurant orders, you had to scan the in app or online QR code at the register.
Sheetz: Save $2 off burritos April 4-6.
You could have saved $2 off made-to-order burritos at Sheetz when you clipped the offer in the Sheetz app.

On National Burrito Day, you could grab a free Chili Cheese Fries Burrito at Wienerschnitzel with any purchase. You had to use their digital coupon (or print it) for in-store orders.
