Solar Eclipse Food Deals We Saw on April 8, 2024

On Monday, April 8, 2024, there was a total solar eclipse — the last one the U.S. will encounter until 2044. The path of totality was from Texas to New York and many restaurants and food brands offered solar eclipse food deals for this special occasion. Some of which are still available now.

Even if you didn't have a front seat view, you can still get in on these solar eclipse food deals — they won't be back for another 20 years.

7-Eleven

7-Eleven's Gold Pass subscribers could get a pizza for just $3 on April 8. Plus, subscribers could add a free pair of solar eclipse glasses to their order between April 4 - 8.

7-Eleven customers who were not Gold Pass subscribers could purchase solar glasses in-stores while supplies last.

Applebee's

Select Applebee's locations had a new Perfect Eclipse Margarita available through April 14. The cocktail was made with Patrón Premium Silver Blanco Tequila, Citrónge Orange Liqueur, Monin Blue Raspberry and Passion Fruit syrups, lemon, and lime.

Burger King

Burger King Royal Perks members could text the word ECLIPSE  to  251251 on Monday, April 8, to get BOGO free Whoppers from April 8 - 15. After texting, the offer was available your account in the BK app or on the Burger King website.

Chili's

Using code APPCLIPSE got you a free appetizer with any adult entrée purchase for dine-in or to-go orders from April 7 - 8, 2024.

Chuy's Tex Mex

During Chuy's Tex-Mex Totality Celebration they had their new Eclipse 'Rita along with $5 Chips 'N' Dips all day long from Saturday, April 6 to Monday, April 8.

Cracker Barrel

Dine-in guests who purchased any entree (even kids' meals) on April 8 got a free side of pancakes at Cracker Barrel when you mentioned Eclipse Pancakes while ordering. And through April 8, you could visit the Cracker Barrel Country Store to grab a pair of solar glasses for $2.49+ for the eclipse.

Dairy Queen

Along with the launch of the Dairy Queen Summer Blizzard menu — that dropped April 1 — DQ rewards members had an offer for BOGO free Blizzards in the Dairy Queen app, valid from April 1 - 14, 2024. Just in time for the eclipse.

Dippin' Dots

Guests who ordered online on April 8 and used code ECLIPSE25, got 35% off their order at Dippin' Dots. This offer was valid online only and not in stores.

Insomnia Cookies

On Monday April 8, cookie lovers got a classic cookie at Insomnia Cookies for just $1 with any purchase of $5 or more in-store or online. They also brought back the Moon Cookie Cake — which served up to 8 people — for the solar event.

Jack in the Box

New and existing Jack Pack Loyalty members got BOGO free Jumbo Jack Burgers on April 8. This deal could be found online or in the Jack in the Box app.

Jeni's Ice Cream

Beginning March 28, ice-cream lovers could order the new Punk Stargonaut collection from Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams online. Plus, this new collection of four "out-of-this-world" flavors came with four free Jeni's solar glasses.

If you preferred to stop into the shop, these new cosmic flavors were available in-store on March 28, but the free solar glasses didn't arrive in stores until April 5.

Marco's Pizza

Marco's Pizza customers could get 50% off all menu-price pizzas from Monday, April 8, to Sunday, April 14 with promo code ECLIPSE when you ordered online and in the app.

MoonPie

MoonPie had a limited edition MoonPie Solar Eclipse Survival Kit for $9.99 at Shop.MoonPie.com. Customer received four mini MoonPies and two pairs of solar eclipse glasses.

Shoppers could also find this survival kit at Dollar Tree, participating Walmart stores and select grocery stores. If you purchased in-store, the glasses were sold separately for an additional $1.99 each.

O'Charley's Restaurant & Bar

On Monday, April 8, you could grab Famous Chicken Tenders, Fries and a Coke for $5 (carryout orders) at O'Charley's. If you preferred to dine-in, you could also enjoy $5 MargO'ritas all day.

Perfect Bar

Perfect Snacks offered 20% off their new Chocolate Brownie Perfect Bar through April 12 when you shopped on their website. Plus, those in the eclipse's path of totality could get 50% off the Chocolate Brownie Perfect Bar on April 8 by signing up for text notifications.

Online orders for the new Perfect Chocolate Brownie bars came with free Eclipse glasses.

Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut dropped all large pizzas to just $12 with their Total Eclipse of the Hut pizza deal on April 8. You could build your own with up to 10 toppings (10 topping!), or choose their recipe pizzas in Thin ‘N Crispy, Hand Tossed Pizza and Original Pan Pizza styles. This deal was valid on carry-out, dine-in, and delivery orders.

Pure Protein

Customers took 15% off all Pure Protein protein bars — including the new Galactic Brownie — on April 8 with code SOLARSAVINGS15 at checkout.

Raising Cane's

If you were near a Raising Cane's in the eclipse's path of totality, you could have scored a free Texas Toast with every combo purchase on April 8.

Schlotzsky's Deli

At 121 participating Schlotzsky's Deli locations in Texarkana, Ohio, Arkansas, and Texas, diners could get $2.99 small The Original or Fresh Veggie sandwiches. This deal was valid all day long on April 8. 

Sheetz

Participating Sheetz locations with a donut shop had $2 off donuts on April 8 for My Sheetz Rewards members.

Shipley Do-Nuts

Members of the Shipley Do-Nuts Do-Happy Rewards got an additional 500 points with any purchase at one of their 350 locations on Monday, April 8, 2024.

Smoothie King

Smoothie King had a new Eclipse Berry Blitz smoothie just for the special solar occasion. Customers who bought an Eclipse Berry Blitz at a Smoothie King location within the path of the solar eclipse also got a free pair of Smoothie King-branded eclipse glasses.

Sonic

Eclipse viewers could try the new new Blackout Slush Float at Sonic through May 5, 2024. This float has cotton candy and dragon fruit flavors and is topped with soft serve and blue and purple galaxy themed sprinkles. Plus, these floats came with free eclipse glasses.

Wendy's

Through April 14, you could enjoy a free Wendy's Frosty with any in-app purchase. Offer was valid on their Classic Chocolate or their new Orange Dreamsicle flavor, or you could go with a half-and-half!
