I recently moved into a new home. So when the Lowe’s Black Friday Sale hits, you’ll find me strolling the aisles for deals on holiday decor, tools, paint, and more. As far as the best Lowe’s sales go, it doesn’t get much better than Black Friday.
Lowe’s usually starts their seven-day Black Friday sale on Thanksgiving Day, but you can count on early deals running the whole month of November. In 2023, Lowe’s started their first set of early Black Friday deals on Oct. 26.
In short, some of the best Lowe’s Black Friday deals are the in-store doorbusters — like $1.50 poinsettias and $10 fresh-cut wreaths. But deals on artificial Christmas trees, holiday inflatables, tool kits, and paint can’t be missed.
I dug through four years’ worth of Black Friday sales data to give you all the best tips for saving big during the 2024 Black Friday sale.

1. When is the Lowe’s Black Friday sale?
Lowe’s started their 2023 Black Friday sale on Thanksgiving Day, just as they have in previous years. In 2024, we expect Lowe’s to follow the same pattern, with deals starting on Thursday, Nov. 28 (Thanksgiving Day) and running through the following Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024.
Since Lowe’s is closed on Thanksgiving, you can shop for deals online, and then when stores reopen on Black Friday, you can shop all the one-day-only doorbusters in stores.
2. Is Lowe’s open on Black Friday?
Yes, Lowe’s stores open at 6 a.m. for in-store Black Friday shopping. Quantities of some items will be limited, so you’ll need to shop early if you’re hoping to grab in-store-only deals like Christmas wreaths and poinsettias.
Is Lowe’s open on Thanksgiving?
Nope. Lowe’s is one of the many stores closed on Thanksgiving. But you can still shop most of their Black Friday deals online, except for store-exclusive deals like their fresh-cut Christmas wreaths and poinsettias.
3. When does the Lowe’s Black Friday ad drop?
Lowe’s runs early Black Friday deals all month long, but the official Lowe’s Black Friday ad doesn’t drop until later in November. You can expect Lowe’s to drop their 2024 Black Friday ad on Monday, Nov. 25.
4. When do the Lowe’s early Black Friday deals begin?
In 2023, the first early Black Friday at Lowe’s arrived on Thursday, Oct. 26, with online-only savings on categories like Christmas decor, tools, home improvement, appliances, and more.
But just like most early Black Friday sales, you can expect the best deals to drop the week of Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
Lowe’s Black Friday Sale Events in 2024 (predicted):
- First batch of early deals: Oct. 24 – Nov. 6
- Second batch of early deals: Nov. 7 – 27
- Black Friday Deals: Nov. 28 – Dec. 4
- Black Friday Online Deals: Nov. 28 – Dec. 4
- Black Friday In-Store Deals: Nov. 29 – 30, with doorbuster deals on Nov. 29
5. What are the best Lowe’s deals to shop during Black Friday?
As always, Lowe’s will likely bring back their $1.50 poinsettia doorbusters in 2024, which are always a top hit for Black Friday. You can get the deal in-store only on Nov. 29 (Black Friday), along with $10 wreaths and $63 live, fresh-cut Christmas trees.
In 2024, keep an eye out for BOGO deals on tool kits, discounts on holiday garland and outdoor inflatables, and savings on HGTV by Sherwin Williams Paint.
6. Poinsettias at Lowe’s are the cheapest during Black Friday weekend — as low as two for $3.
Poinsettia deals pop up when the official Black Friday sale begins, but the deals are in stores only (and while supplies last), so you’ll have to wait until Nov. 29 to grab these deals at your local store.
On Black Friday and the weekend after is when you can find 2-quart poinsettias at Lowe’s for $6 each (regularly $6.98) and 1-quart poinsettias for $1.50 each (reg. $2.98).
7. Christmas wreaths at Lowe’s are two for $20 on Black Friday.
I know the wreaths at my local Lowe’s store always sell out quickly, so get there early if you’re trying to get a wreath or two for $10 each, a special value price at Lowe’s for Black Friday.
Buy 2 Fresh Cut Christmas Wreaths for $20 (in stores only). In 2022, the deal was 2 wreaths for $24 ($12 each), so we saw an even better deal on fresh-cut wreaths in 2023!
8. Get free same-day delivery on fresh Christmas trees from Lowe’s.
No need to browse a Christmas tree lot or even browse Lowe’s selection of live trees; the store will deliver fresh-cut Christmas trees right to your door the same day you place an order — with no delivery fee! The only requirements are that you spend at least $45 and live in an area with free local delivery from Lowe’s.
If you’re looking for an even deeper discount, consider the Black Friday deals on artificial trees at Lowe’s.
Prices of artificial trees are only expected to rise as we get closer to Black Friday, so act quickly before that happens.

9. Aim to save 65% on artificial Christmas trees during Black Friday at Lowe’s.
You can save as much as 65% by shopping for artificial Christmas trees at Lowe’s during Black Friday.
Lowe’s tends to have the best prices on artificial Christmas under five feet tall. And between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we’ve seen them mark down prices on pre-lit 7.5-foot artificial trees by as much as 65%! That’s right in line with the best prices we saw on similarly sized trees.
10. Get BOGO-free deals on Lowe’s DeWalt tools for Black Friday.
We’ve seen great deals on DeWalt items with Lowe’s Black Friday tool deals. Here are some of the deepest discounts we saw in 2023:

You can also expect BOGO free select DeWalt and Craftsman tools during Black Friday at Lowe’s.
11. Get free shipping on online orders of at least $45 from Lowes.com.
One thing you won’t get from Lowe’s during Black Friday sales is free shipping across the board. Most of the same Black Friday deals you see in stores will also be available online, but you’ll want to make sure your cart is loaded up to at least $45.
For the past four years (2023 included), you’ve still had to meet their $45 minimum on qualifying orders to earn Lowe’s free shipping.
12. Pay attention to Lowe’s return policy — a few items have a tighter return window.
Lowe’s return policy allows you to get a full refund on most returns made within 90 days — even if you don’t have a store receipt. But that return window shortens for things like major appliances, utility vehicles, and golf carts. You’ll get 30 days to return TVs, electronics, outdoor power equipment, paint, and a few other items.
And for holiday purchases, they must be returned during the current holiday, not after. For example, if you buy a wreath or an artificial tree during Black Friday, you only have until Dec. 25 to return it.
13. You can’t stack other coupons or discounts on Black Friday deals.
Your Lowe’s discounts won’t help much during Black Friday, as Lowe’s discounts only apply to regularly priced items, and Lowe’s doesn’t allow coupon stacking.
We love that Lowe’s military discount gives veterans and employees 10% off everything in the store every day, but during Black Friday, those discounts aren’t really going to make an impact.
And trust me, if the Black Friday deal you’re seeing is less than 10% off the regular price — it’s not really a deal.
14. Ask for a Lowe’s price adjustment on your Black Friday purchases within 30 days.
If you don’t want to battle the crowds at Lowe’s, you can ask for a Lowe’s price adjustment on anything you buy that later goes on sale for Black Friday. Lowe’s will make price adjustments on any item for up to 30 days after you buy it. So if you buy a large appliance less than 30 days before Black Friday, and then you see the price drop during the sale, you’ll still get to reap the savings.
Getting a Lowe’s price adjustment is pretty simple as long as you keep your receipt or pay with a credit card (Lowe’s can look up past purchases with your card number).
Just show a Lowe’s manager proof that the price you originally paid for an item is more expensive than the current price at Lowe’s. Proof can be an ad printout or a photo showing the lower price.
15. Don’t bother with Lowe’s price match policy — it doesn’t apply during Black Friday.
Unfortunately, Lowe’s won’t price match against other retailers during Black Friday. Lowe’s explicitly states in their price match policy that they won’t match seasonal sale prices from other retailers, and it doesn’t get more seasonal than Black Friday.
16. Lowe’s for Pros members will get special Black Friday deals on tools.
Lowe’s has a special Lowe’s for Pros membership program for professionals who buy their tools and supplies from the warehouse. During the month of November, Lowe’s offers special tool deals to their Pro contractor members, and they call this event “PROvember.”
You’ll have to fill out a short form with your business and personal information to sign up, but once you do, you’ll have access to exclusive offerings, like these deals that ran Oct. 26 – Nov. 22, 2023:
