If you love riding the savings high from a Marshalls store purchase, just wait ’til you shop Marshalls online.
First, deal hunting on Marshalls.com is much easier. You don’t have to flip through hangers to find the items you like or sizes that fit. Second, Marshalls has a huge online clearance selection — and it doesn’t have any broken or stained items like the in-store clearance shelves do. When you combine that with unbeatable prices on toys and an online designer shop with up to 85% off high-end brands, treasure hunting for Marshalls online deals undoubtedly beats a trip to the store.
Before I give away all my best Marshalls online shopping tips right here, I’ll let you explore these genius hacks for yourself. Use these 13 tricks to save more every time you shop online at Marshalls. And while you’re at it, check out these T.J.Maxx shopping tips to help you save, too!

1. Yes, you can return Marshalls online purchases to the store.
Marshalls lets you return online purchases to the store, but beware — not all items are eligible. I found this Ieena for Mac Duggal gown, and in the Product Details section, it says, “Not returnable in store.” This is a rare case, though. This disclaimer usually only applies to long special occasion gowns or items over $499.99.
You have 40 days to return Marshalls online purchases, and store returns are free. So no need to pay that return shipping fee. Just bring in your receipt or shipping confirmation email to make your return in-store.
2. Marshalls.com has cheaper kids’ toys than Amazon.
This is not a drill! I always assumed Amazon was the best place to shop for toys online. But Marshalls has online toy deals that beat Amazon big time. And because I was stunned to find I’ve been living a lie, it’s not enough to just tell you about it — I HAVE to show you.
Here are just a few (of many) examples that prove Marshalls has better online toy prices than Amazon:
3. Visit the Marshalls online Designer Shop and sort by price: low to high.
There’s nothing like scoring designer items for less than half the price, am I right? Well, Marshalls has an entire online section dedicated to designer styles. The Marshalls online Designer Shop is full of brands you never thought you’d own, like Stuart Weitzman, Free People, and 7 For All Mankind — for up to 85% off regular prices. Being a budget-friendly fashionista is something to be proud of, so go ahead. Splurge for the sake of saving. Want to see the cheapest designer stuff first? Sort your search by price: Low to high.
These are some of the Marshalls Designer Shop items I found compared to their original values:
- We Wore What Strappy Bodysuit, $4 (Compare at $27) — 85% off
- Cosabella Sweet Treats Soft Bra, $7 (Compare at $40) — 83% off
- Free People Taylor Long Sleeve Top, $10 (Compare at $35) — 71% off
- Free People Perfect Bodysuit, $10 (Compare at $45) — 78% off
- Theory Mock Neck Long Sleeve Knit Top, $32 (Compare at $90) — 64% off
- BCBGMaxazria Sculpted Faux Rabbit Coat, $104 (Compare at $260) — 60% off
- Stuart Weitzman Suede Over The Knee Boots, $379.99 (Compare at $760) — 50% off
4. The Marshalls online clearance selection has some unreal deals.
Marshalls has an online clearance section that blows their store clearance out of the water. I’m talking $2 lip balms, $3 tees and tanks, $7 dresses, and tons of seasonal home decor for less than $10. Plus, you don’t run the risk of getting stuck with an item that’s stained, torn, or destroyed in any way. I’ve had the dreadful experience of shopping clearance items in-store at Marshalls, only to get home and find a hole in the sleeve.
You’ll find the best deals in Marshalls Clearance Under $10 section. Sort by Price: Low to High to see items that literally start at $2.
5. Buy high-end beauty brands online for as low as $3.99.
The Marshalls Online Beauty Shop is truly beaUTIFUL. Marshalls has high-end skincare, haircare, and makeup brands you’d normally only find at Sephora and Ulta. And the prices are just as pretty as the products.
Here’s what I saw in their online beauty section:
- Wet Brushes, $4.99
- Laura Geller Powder Foundation, $5.99
- Crabtree & Evelyn Bath & Shower Gel, $6.99
- Clinique Quick Liner for Brows, $7.99
- MAC Cosmetics Lipstick, $7.99
- Bobbi Brown Lipstick & Eyeshadow, $9.99
- Too Faced Lip Gloss, $9.99
- Estee Lauder Daycream, $9.99
- Smashbox Liquid Eyeliner, $12.99
TIP: If you only want to shop the best of the best beauty brands, Marshalls also has a Designer Beauty Shop online. Prices literally start at $5 or less.
6. Subscribe to Marshalls’ emails for 24-hour early access to new arrivals online.
New stuff is good stuff, and good stuff goes fast. Signing up for Marshalls emails is a great way to get first dibs on “just-in” items online.
7. Use code SHIP89 to get Marshalls free shipping on orders of $89 or more.
“Free shipping” isn’t really a thing for Marshalls online purchases, but if your order is at least $89, you can enter the code SHIP89 at checkout to get free shipping.
If your order is less than $89, you’ll have to pay the $9.99 standard shipping fee. And if you’re paying more than $89 and don’t enter the SHIP89 code at checkout, you’ll pay a $10.99 standard shipping fee. Unfortunately, Marshalls doesn’t offer any “buy online, pickup in-store” options yet, but here’s to hoping for that in the future.
These are all the Marshalls online shipping options and rates:
8. Add all the Marshalls items you love to your “Favorites” and wait for price drops.
I’ll warn you — the most popular online items tend to sell out fast, so this trick doesn’t always work in your favor. But if you’re willing to risk it, add the stuff you love most to your favorites (hit that little heart icon in the top right corner) and wait a week or so to see if anything gets cheaper.
I saved a Rachel Zoe top ($12.99) and a Belldini sweater ($29.99) to my favorites and let them sit there for two weeks. When I checked back, Marshalls marked the top down to $10 and the sweater down to $24!
You’ll need to create a Marshalls account to save favorites, but it’s totally worth it (especially since you’ll use the same credentials to sign in to T.J.Maxx and HomeGoods).
9. Score current and past season items in Marshalls’ online home clearance.
For example, Christmas decor hits Marshalls online home clearance a whole month before Dec. 25. But you’ll also find deep discounts on Halloween and Labor Day decor at the same time.
As I’m writing this post, 88% of the 577 items in the home clearance section are under $30. That’s worth a small celebration.
10. Marshalls.com has cheap holiday gifts for everyone on your list.
Marshalls has an extensive online gift selection. You can shop by recipient or price and by categories like beauty, handbags, fragrances, or toys and games. Remember — a lot of the toys online at Marshalls are cheaper than they are on Amazon. This comes in handy around the holidays.
Marshalls even has curated gift shops online, including:
11. Sign up for the TJX Rewards Credit Card for an extra 5% off your Marshalls online purchases.
The TJX Rewards Credit Card isn’t just good to use at T.J.Maxx — you can use it at all the TJX stores, including Marshalls, Home Goods, Sierra, and Homesense.
You’ll get 10% off your first purchase when you open an account, then 5% back in Rewards on purchases from Marshalls and other TJX stores. Plus, when you link your card to your Marshalls account, you can shop, earn, and access your rewards in 48 hours or less. So if you’re a diehard Marshalls shopper, signing up for the TJX Rewards Credit Card can help you save in a huge way.
12. Buy discounted Marshalls or T.J.Maxx gift cards to save more when you shop online.
Without a coupon or limited-time sale (which you won’t find at Marshalls), discounted gift cards are a great way to save on already marked-down prices.
Sites like Raise.com and CardBear.com let you buy and sell discounted gift cards to a bunch of stores and brands. And since you can use TJX gift cards at any of their stores, you can buy whichever store has the biggest gift card discount available. So don’t just look for Marshalls gift cards — look for discounted T.J.Maxx and HomeGoods gift cards, too.
Gift card discounts vary drastically and change all the time, depending on what each site has in stock. I’ve seen T.J.Maxx gift cards for up to 18% off their face value, but right now, they’re only 7% off. So, you’ll need to check back often if you don’t find a discount worth grabbing right away.
TIP: Get an extra 15% off your discounted gift card purchase (maximum of $20 in savings) when you enter your email address on Raise.com.
13. Can’t find what you’re looking for on Marshalls.com? Try T.J.Maxx or HomeGoods online.
What’s the difference between T.J.Maxx and Marshalls? Well, not much, really. I once spoke to the head copywriter for Marshalls.com, who said Marshalls is more focused on fashion and trendiness, while T.J.Maxx is more focused on discounts and savings. Still, you’ll find a lot of the same items at both stores (and sites) for the exact same prices. So you can check TJMaxx.com if you’re not loving the Marshalls online selection.
If you’re looking for furniture and home decor and can’t find what you want on Marshalls.com, try HomeGoods.com instead. HomeGoods just launched a shoppable online site in September 2022, bringing the greatness of HomeGoods stores to the web once and for all.
