Look, when it comes to expired coupons, most stores straight up refuse to accept them.
But it doesn’t mean they’re completely worthless. . . .
1. You can send your expired coupons to troops overseas.
Military families can use manufacturers’ coupons up to six months past their expiration at commissaries. All you have to do is follow the instructions, and send them on their way!

2. Coupons are good through the end of the expiration date listed.
It’s like a “best by” date. After that date, not so best.
3. If you cut off a coupon’s expiration date, stores won’t accept them.
Don’t worry, new coupons will always come out. Just keep tabs on your favorite stores using the KCL App! We’ll tell you when the coupons show up and how to get them!
4. Some stores actually will allow expired coupons or find you a new one.
If it’s a couple of days past the expiration date on your coupon, it doesn’t hurt to call and ask ahead.
Some places are known for letting you use expired coupons or finding you a new coupon like Bed Bath and Beyond, Michaels, Staples and Petsmart.
It’s more likely for stores to accept their own coupons rather than manufacturer coupons.
5. Bed Bath & Beyond is widely known for accepting expired coupons.
But again, you’ll have a higher chance with their own coupon over manufacturer coupons.
Just know that they don’t have to let you use that Bed Bath & Beyond coupon, so if they say they can’t, leave it at that. If you’re nice, some cashiers will try to find you a current coupon.
6. It’s OK to not use your coupon before its expiration.
More coupons will come out that you can legitimately use. Don’t feel pressured by that looming expiration date — only get what you need.
