Catalina: Sometimes abbreviated as “CAT”, Catalina coupon machines located at register, dispense long receipt-like coupons that may be used on a future purchase.  Catalinas, refer to the coupons themselves which may be manufacturer or store coupons.  Some Catalina coupons are advertised and some are generated based on consumer behavior.

    I bought Kikkoman Soy sauce and Kikkoman sweet and sour sauce today at Fred Meyer and received a $0.75 oynp cat. They are on sale 2/$3 and I used a $1 IP. =about $1.25 (or $.63 apiece) net for 2.

    I’m making egg rolls for dinner so I was also happy to find that the wraps ($2.29, in produce dept) were BOGO.

    I was at Fred Meyer today to buy items for free movie tickets. I bought both Skippy Peanut Butter and Uncle Ben’s Rice. I was expecting to get the $1 OYNO for the Skippy, but what printed said “Courtesy of Uncle Ben’s” on the bottom. Should I have gotten something from the Skippy, and is there some unmentioned rice cat?

    I bought two freshetta(spelling?) pizzas today and got back a $3 cat for a purchase of flowers…i guess mothers day IS coming….weird cat offer pizza for flowers?? I guess they thought a man was buying the pizza =)

    I noticed a few catalina deals at my Kroger today (in the southeast region) not on this list. All of these either had signs posted in store or I received the info from a catalina that printed at the register.

    I’m brand new to this couponing and really want to research and know what I’m doing before going. I don’t want to drive and hour to shop and get there and be frustrated because I’m totally lost. Can you tell me if being a Sam’s member is a good thing or is it too high when you add the $40.00 year membership too the savings knowing they don’t take coupons. I did try that last month and was embarrassed when they said they didn’t do that. Also do all stores do the catalina thing, I did research the grocery stores in that town and they have ALbertsons, Krogers, Super 1, Walmart, Target, Sam’s, CVS, Walgreens, Mac’s Super, I’ve have medical issues that don’t let me do a lot of running here and there, I’m wanting to do the bulk of my shopping one day a month when I go to that city for my dr. visits, Can you tell me if one or two of the ones above are better for prices etc. Thank you for any input you can give me.       Emily, I used to shop at Sam’s Club and thought I was saving a fortune UNTIL I started really getting into the coupon thing and it was then that I realized, even though I was getting better deals at Sam’s than shopping regular retail, I was still wasting a fortune. Needless to say, I did not renew my Sam’s membership. Walking out of a store and paying, at the most, $.50-$.75 per item with coupons and at the least – free, cannot be beat anywhere. I can still stock up on all of the things we use regularly albeit at a much slower pace, however, at a drastically lower price!

    I received a heads-up Catalina today saying “Buy 3 or more Ben & Jerry’s pints… and get $2 off your next shopping order! Valid 7/12/2010 – 9/5/2010″. This was from a Ralphs (Kroger Co.) in SoCal.

    Careful – I didn’t have my catalina print for the Lean Cusines at the Kirkland, WA Albertsons (still an amazing deal for me so I wasn’t worried)

    I have been buying clearance Sudafed (under $3) at my local Kroger and each time I purchase a Sudafed I get a Catalina for $3 off my next Sudafed purchase ETS. I have gotten several boxes free with overage this way.

    yoplait yogurt is on sale for .50 and i bought 12 of them. Got back a 2.00 cat. I don’t know how many you have to buy to trigger the cat, but i was pleased:)

      I don’t think so, I have the physical register CAT and it says only Nature Valley Granola Bars (6.7oz or larger) and Fiber One Chewy Bars. I just checked and the Nut Clusters are 5oz. I wish they were, my husband love them :)

    I love fred meyer. i used to work there about a year ago. you can stack store coupons/coupon matching other stores/bonus coupon/rewards coupons/manufacturers coupons/ and catalinas! I love it! Most of my amazing deals come from there. Does anyone know about an upcomming huggies catalina? I have heard rumors, but nothing concrete. Thanks so much :)

    Is there a limit to how many CAT’s you can get on a purchase? I’m going to Smiths tonight and am wondering if I get 10 BC fruit snacks will it print 2/3.00 Catalina’s or do I need to split them up into 2 purchases? Thanks, Emily

    I did the Progresso soup shop twice and did not receive my CAT’s. I contacted the catalina marketing company and this is what they said;”This store is not participating in this promotion. This promotion is running at select stores only. We apologize but we will not be able to issue you a coupon.” So, it is regional.

    I was at Krogers last night and there weren’t any tags on the shelves to indicate these items were a part of a catalina. There are usually tags there. Do you know if individual Kroger stores can opt out of doing the deals that other Kroger stores are doing? I was all ready with my coupons and looking forward to saving a little extra dough. :) As it is, though, I spent $125 and saved $20, which is still about $80 less than my family’s typical spending there.

      Yes, Ralphs is part of the Kroger Co. However, my Ralphs was not participating in the Progresso soup CAT. That promo is regional. Just FYI.

    typically it gives me cat’s for completely random things that are unrelated to what i just bought. is it just making suggestions??

    This weekend I used .60/1 for Raisen Bran cereal that is already on sale for 1.98. It doubled to $1 and then printed me off a $1/1 cat for another box. It is rolling… so I got six boxes of cereal for 6 bucks! It didn’t quit, I just got tired and figured I would try again tomorrow with the leftover q. Woohoo.

    I was at the Kroger in Beaumont, Tx today. I bought 4 Pillsbury crescent rolls.they were on sale for 2 for $3. I had 2 .50 off coupons if you buy 2. It also gave me a Cat coupon for $1 off next purchase.I figured I paid about .87ea. I also bought 2 12pk of Ozarka water (small bottles) for $2.49 each. I had a $1.50 coupon off 2. Then got a $1.50 Cat coupon for next purchase. I figured I paid $1.98 for ea 12pk.

    Awesome catalina list! It is awesome to be able to come here and know that I can get a really good deal on some decent products. I also like that I can get discounted gas through Kroger without spending too much money out of pocket!

    This week at Kroger – Campbell’s Chunky soups are $5 off if you buy ten in store. Plus, you get manufacturer’s coupon for 50 cents a can off at the website (http://www.campbellskitchen.com/coupon.aspx). So the final price is 1.49 – .50 – .50 = .49 cents per can. The campbell’s site coupons can be printed twice (enough coupons for 20 cans) per computer.

    Why aren’t these catalinas listed on the couponnetwork.com website? The only one I find listed for Kroger is the Pop-Tarts deal. Why wouldn’t they want consumers to know about these to encourage shopping?

      The Coupon Network site is still new. Their end goal is to have ALL Catalina offers listed, but for now they are getting the permissions necessary to publish the offers. Look for a greater quantity of “checkout-coupon offers” by January.
