I’m a little confuse about the video coupons. Can I print and use more than one? Let’s say I have a limit of two colgate toothpaste I can by and in order to get it free I need to also use the video coupon, if I wanted to get two could I print the video coupon twice? I really want to know this before I try it; I really don’t want to get to the register and be totally screwed. :-(

This video was very informative. I was a bit confused about the 1UP rewards. I wasn’t sure whether I had to make different transactions to receive the rewards. Again thank you!

I live in a very small town and I like to shop at the local stores,Rite-Aide, Dollar General, Kroger, etc. I have recently started using coupons and I must say that I am hook. My latest shopping trip to Rite-Aide I earned up to $20.00 in up rewards and I felt like I hit the jack pot. Thanks to your video, I will go back in more prepared and hopefully save more money!!!

    Heather,
The video needs to be updated based on their change in the B1G1 policy 2 weeks ago. They no longer let you use a coupon on the free item or with a B1G1 promotion.

  5. Christi says:

This helps a ton!! Thank you! Does Rite Aid have a coupon booklet like Walgreens?

  6. Jennifer says:

Ok, so I am a Rite Aid girl from back in the day who pulled out when they went to up rewards. I feel like jumping back in. Please answer me this…

So, I get (4) $1 up rewards back. Next transaction I buy one item that costs me $4. Can I use all of my $1 up rewards or are they one per item like Walgreens?

Question 2)Do they count as manufacturer’s coupons like Walgreens? (can I hand them one up rewards and one manufacturer’s coupon for one item?)

  7. Terri says:

What size is your binder and where did you find it? I have a 5″ and it barely holds all my stuff. I can’t seem to find anything larger.

  8. J says:

Is there a limit to how many UP rewards you can get on the same type of item? E.g., if the sale says “Buy one, get $1 UP reward”, and I buy 2, would that mean I’d get $2 in UP rewards? Or just $1? Thanks!

  9. carolyn says:

This was a great video to watch, as I am new to couponing and I was intimidated for lack of knowledge for this store. Now I understand. I couldn’t although print out the stores policy sheet

  10. AJ says:

I never thought about buying a gift card with my +Up Rewards, what a great idea!

Gotta try that at my CVS.

BTW, heather people were commenting on your binder LOL

I’m surprised nobody asked how much does that weight?

    • Diana says:

I think buying a gift card with +UP Rewards are not allowed. I may be wrong. But Above it says try buying a gift card with your Rebate’s check. as in… enter your rebate codes on qualifying items, wait until the end of the month to request your rebate money in the form of a check that way you get it all at once instead of having to cash more than one checks. once you have that cash you can purchase a gift card.

At the end of the month, request your rebate check. It will come in the mail and you cash it like any normal check.

-If you would like, take your first month’s Rebate Check and buy a gift card to Rite Aid. This will help you see just how much money you’re saving because you’ll never have to pay cash again!

  11. AJ says:

Great job in the video heather!

Would it be cheating to have two video value accounts?

Too bad they don’t let you print two coupons of each item.

I gotta try stacking three coupons on an item sometime.
That’s a new one for me.

  12. Jackie D. says:

I love Rite Aid so much more than Walgreens. I was thinking about trying Walgreens and watched your vid (very well presented, by the way!) but it was so much work compared to RA. I love the suggestion about purchasing a giftcard with your SCR. I have trouble rolling my RR sometimes because I hate holding up the line for multiple trans and I have OCD when it comes to not having the RRs clipped and ready for the cashier! I think I will start carrying kiddie scissors in my purse ;)

  13. Carie says:

The single check rebate checks can also be used at rite aid as cash. You don’t have to deposit them in the bank.

  14. jackie says:

I live in KS., sooo wish we had a Rite Aid:( Walgreens is my go-to! I love the hair tie on your wrist…I always have one there or in my hair<3

  15. Tami says:

Heather I was wondering what about a buy one get one 50%. It made sense to me, that if a store is running a buy one get one promo and I have a B1G1 coupon and BOTH items are free, then I assumed that when they have a buy 1 get 1 50% promo and I match it with a buy 1 get 1 free that I would pay half off the cost of one. Well, I have went to a couple of different Rite Aids and they give me cheaper amount free (which is 50% off one) and I pay the whole amount for one. ( i hope I am making sense) this seems like a waste of a buy 1 get 1 free coupon. Is this what you are expieriencing as well?

  16. L says:

My husband didn’t really understand my obsession with couponing at first. Once I brought home four FREE Butterfinger Snackerz two weeks ago from Rite Aid for him, he quit complaining about making random stops at Rite Aid :)

  17. amber says:

hi-= like you said Rite Aide doesnt stock up much with the free items and so i always find myself needing to get rainchecks. will my BOGO coupons still work on a BOGO item that they have to enter in manually. WHat can i do to make this a smooth transaction when i go back next week?

  18. Jen says:

I don’t know what upsets me more: that I don’t have a Rite Aid close by, or that a friend of mine that does but doesn’t shop there!

  19. Jennifer says:

Remember ladies, as of SUNDAY there will be a limit of 1 monthly +up reward per manufatuer … for the whole month. This is a new change posted on their facebook page, so beware that the socalled “tuna” deal may not work well now.

I still am planning on a trip however for other things :)

    • Jackie D. says:

Is that for everything that you can get an up for? Or can I get more than one of those Little Rememdies ups???

  20. Jennifer C. says:

I wish Chicago had a Rite Aid.

  21. lisa says:

Love the video!!!!Iam just learning how to shop rite aid,and i called the number on my card and asked questions and they had no idea how to answer them. You answerd every question i had.It reslly helped me alot!!!!

  22. Jennifer says:

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the videos!! I am a very visual person and it really helps to see and hear it explained rather than read it. Keep the videos comin!!

  23. Ophiliated says:

Yes, I too was wondering about the limits. I know that at CVS once you hit your 2 limit per household, you will not get the Extra Bucks back on a third. Because of this I never tried to purchase more than what their limit said for fear of not getting my UPR. Also as to another question in the past RA limited the amount of UPR’s to the same number of items you were purchasing, but in the last week they hve changed that policy so that you can hand over as many as you have. :)

  24. tia says:

yah, sing it sister! “a CONSIDERATE” amount. that means, ladies, that if you are at the door of my Rite Aid for the opening bell, and you make a mad dash for the food aisle, i’d like to not HEAR you SHOVELING shelf-loads of Lays chips into your cart (from aisles away). sorry, i don’t mean to be snarky, but i just had to get that off my chest.

  25. Kim F. says:

Rite Aid will also issue rainchecks on any items they run out of. For example, they had a J&J sales 2 weeks ago. It was $2.99 with $2UP rewards so it’s like paying $.99. Well, they were out so I got a raincheck. I didn’t get the UP$ but I got the items for $.99 and then I got some J&J coupons and paid $1.54 for 5 full size baby wash! It was fantastic!

So ask for a raincheck if they are out of stock. They even ask you how many you’d like if there is no limit. I wish I would have said 10 on the J&J since I have twin boys!

  26. Danielle says:

When I return to RA with my UP rewards, how many rewards can I use at once? If I have 10 $1 UP rewards can I use all ten in one trip or is there a limit? Can they also be combined with coupons? I’ve been hesitant to shop at RA simply because I like up front savings, but am growing more interested at the idea of getting rewards.

    • Jessie says:

Danielle – I have never had an issue using multiple +Up’s in one transaction. Many times I save them up, go in for a big haul, and hand a stack over all at once (after all of my coupons of course)! The only thing you need to remember is that they cannot be used to pay for tax. Watch the total come down on the register as the clerk scans them in so you don’t end up using a $4 +Up when you only had $2 left before the tax!

  27. Anne C says:

In the video you said (as an example) the lightbulbs have a limit of 4 “per transaction” does that mean I could buy 4 then come back later and buy 4 more? Doesn’t the wellness card keep track of how many you purchase?

  28. Heidi says:

THANK YOU so much for posting this. I have been kind of scared to use RA, I don’t know why except that last time I shopped there (several years back) I remember them being too expensive and so I have always avoided them. Now that I know how to properly “deal” there I will be checking it out once in a while. ;)

  29. Brittany M. says:

Heather I love your videos! I seriously get distracted by your binder. That thing is ridiculously AWESOME!!! :D You guys rock, thanks for all of the helpful tips. Keep up the great work!!!

  30. Tracy says:

Great video! Thanks. It makes me want to give Rite Aid another try. But as you mentioned, they don’t carry a lot of product and I get frustrated and leave empty handed.

  31. Shae says:

I LOVE Rite Aid!!! Thanks for posting this helpful video. Could you please explain how it works when say for example old spice deodorant is on sale as buy one get one half off and you have coupons?

Also, the other day at safe way they had a buy 2 get 1 free sale. I had two b1g1 coupons that I used but I couldn’t figure out how many packs of gum I would get. Doing the math I would think that I should technically get 6 packs of gum for the price of one… but could you give me some insight on that?

  32. Melanie says:

    Heather,
Where are you from originally? Do I detect a very slight Irish accent?

    • Heather says:

Melanie, I think public speaking must bring out the Irish Ancestory I wish I had… :) I get comments about my “accent” a lot- but I have no idea where it comes from.. LOL!

  33. Isabelle says:

    Dear Heather,
Thank you so much for the time you spend to help us! Can you get rain check on sale item and use coupon also?

  34. Kay says:

From a fairly new couponer… THANK YOU! Now I will be going to shop at Rite Aid thanks to this vid! =)

  35. I am loving these little videos! So helpful- thank you!!

  36. Noelle says:

They wouldn’t take a BOGO coupon with a BOGO deal yesterday. Is that in the policy?

  37. Kristy Vaught says:

Thanks for the information it was really helpful.

  38. Janie says:

Where did you get your HUGE binder, Heather? The biggest ones I could find are 5 inches…..

    • Heather says:

Hi Janie, I got my binder at Staples- with a coupon of course! :) I said this in the comments above, but look for our binder video, which we will have finished in a week or so!

  39. jen says:

Thanks for video, I found it to be very helpful. I could not help but notice your binder OMG :) wish I had one like yours. I found your Printables for your binder but was wondering if you have a video of you binder a how to of sorts?

  40. Kalia says:

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I feel like this was just for me) :)

  41. Tiff W says:

Heather, you’re so good on tv, why aren’t you on more often? I love to see Joanie too, but just want to say that you’re great too! Thanks for all that both of you do.
