We are a military family. We move a lot. Like 6 times in 6 years a lot. My husband has missed half of our wedding anniversaries and the birth of our first child. Sometimes the military life gets a bit stressful, but it does come with some perks, like the weekly Walgreens discount!

Every Tuesday across America, participating Walgreens locations (almost all) offer members of the military a screaming deal discount. Present a military ID card and receive 15% off all products and 20% off Walgreens brand products.

Now, here is the great part: there are no restrictions on in-store sales, coupons, or register rewards when combined with this discount! So all the deals you read about on the Krazy Coupon Lady for Walgreens can be made 15% to 20% sweeter when you shop on Tuesdays!

One more hint to make your Walgreens trip worth it: many of the Register Rewards coupons work at the commissary (military grocery store). The bottom left hand corner will let you know if you can use the Register Rewards. If it says “Redeemable only at Walgreens” you are out of luck. But if that specific phrase does not appear on the coupon, your commissary will take them!

Happy couponing, support our troops, and God bless America!

I live in a military town (Camp Lejeune, NC) and Walgreens stopped doing military discounts on Tuesdays when the new Points system started.

Yes I too am at Lejeune and not happy about them stopping the discount. Used to save even more money on those days….oh well.

  2. April says:

Ft Bragg, NC … no longer gives Military discounts!

I called the Oak Harbor Washington Walgreen’s and was told it is every Thursday.

How do you find out which Walgreens are offering this discount? I live in southern Cali…

I am in the military and often stop at Walgreens on my way home from work while in my uniform. I often noticed that I got a random 15% discount. This past Tuesday I realized I always got it with this one specific clerk. When I got home I thought it couldn’t be the clerk giving me a random discount, then it dawned on me that it must be a military discount. I went to the website and googled it, but could not find any info on if Walgreen’s gives the discount. Wish I could tell you how to find out if your area gives the discount.

I asked about this at my local Walgreens and they do not give the discount. My husband is a Marine Core vet. They acted like they had no clue what I was talking about.

I asked at our Walgreens, and they said no discount. However, is this a new thing they are starting?

      • Chris says:

        Is it good for retired?

        • Anonymous says:

I am in NW Florida. Our day is Thursday. Just ask the cashier they will tell you what day. Yes, works retirees too. Just present your ID. Does not work on anything they do not give employee discount on though because they do not have a military button, they use the employee discount program to give the % off which as stated above is 15% on most and 20% on Wags brand stuff. No eggs, milk (they said dairy but there are exceptions) stamps etc. HTH
