When I first heard that some retailers have “BYOB” policies, I was understandably confused (not to mention more than a bit delighted). But then I found out this means “Bring Your Own BAG.” Ah. I knew it was too good to be true. Although, these BYOB policies are also pretty cool because they us help save trees and save money! Most importantly, with ever more retailers doing away with their reusable bag rewards programs, this list will help you keep tabs on which retailers in your local area are most likely to reward you for reusing your bags.

1. Target

Target has long been one of the leaders in “reuse and save” customer incentive programs—their program launched nationwide in 2009 and is still going strong.

  • Current incentive: Earn a $.05 discount for every reusable bag you bring in to use.
