Get the most out of Bank of America free museum days by planning ahead and arriving early.
Going to take advantage of the next Bank of America free museum days weekend? This is how you'll get the most value out of the program.
Plan Ahead
Before heading to a museum, check out the list of participating institutions near you or at your travel destination. This list is updated regularly, and it’s essential to know which institutions are included. Once you've selected a museum, review its safety protocols and operating hours, as they may differ due to local regulations or event schedules.
Maximize the Weekend
Since the offer is valid on the first full weekend of every month, consider making a day (or weekend) of it by visiting multiple institutions. Many major cities have several participating museums, making it easy to enjoy back-to-back visits. Create an itinerary to make the most of your free admission weekend and immerse yourself in the cultural offerings of different institutions.
Arrive Early
Free admission days often attract larger crowds. To ensure you get the most out of your visit, arrive early in the day when the museum is less crowded. This will give you more time and space to enjoy the exhibits, especially in popular museums where the later hours might see a rush of visitors.
Research Special Exhibits
While the Museums on Us program doesn’t cover fundraising events, special exhibitions, or ticketed exhibitions, it’s worth checking out what’s on offer during your visit. Some museums may have discounted rates for certain exhibitions, or you can opt to pay separately if something of special interest catches your eye.
Check Ahead for Adjusted Procedures
Admission procedures can vary between museums. Before you go, check if the institution you plan to visit has any adjusted rules or procedures for Museums on Us guests. These can often be found by selecting the museum's on the program’s website and viewing its current admission and safety information.
