The Semi-Annual Sale is available to both Bath & Body Works Rewards members and non-members twice a year, in store and online.

The winter edition kicked off Dec. 26 and wrapped up Jan. 17, and we expect the summer edition to start in June. Here's everything you need to know about the sale so that you're ready the next time it comes around.

The Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale is a twice-a-year clearance sale that lasts three weeks to a month.

The Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale is a massive clearance event where you can find some of the best deals of the year — beating their most high-profile sales on some products. 

The sale happens twice a year (in early June and after Christmas), and although they’re both massive clearance events, they’re each a little bit different. The June sale is nearly a month long, with lots of markdowns on winter and spring products. By contrast, the December sale is typically about three weeks long and focuses on fall and holiday clearance (it ran Dec. 26-Jan. 17 in 2024-25).

The summer edition of the Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale will likely start June 1 and run for about a month, until July 1.

How do we make our prediction?

We've made our guess based on when Bath & Body Works has held their Semi-Annual Sales since 2017. The summer sale tends to start in early June, as early as June 1. We expect the same timing next year. The length of the summer sale varies, and it went for 53 days last year, but in the past it's stuck to 31 days. So be ready for it to end July 1 (but possibly go longer).

In fact, it's the number one complaint we hear from KCL readers who want to shop. And honestly, these mailers are few and far between now, even when you're on the mailing list. Still, here’s how to get on that list:

1. Head to the "Submit a Request" page at BathandBodyWorks.com.

2. Select "Mailing Address Request" from the dropdown menu.

How do you get $10 off $30 at Bath & Body Works?

When you first sign up for Bath & Body Works Rewards, you'll receive a coupon for $10 off a $30 purchase. The coupon code is valid in stores and online.

Because this coupon expires 30 days from sign-up, don't take the steps to get this coupon until the week before the next anticipated Semi-Annual Sale. If you already have an account, sign up your partner or your mom, or anyone else willing to share that code with you once they receive it.

Look for limited-time retired fragrances during the Semi-Annual Sale.

During the Semi-Annual Sales Bath & Body Works always brings back a few nostalgic scents for the duration of the event. During the 2024 - 25 winter sale, we found the following:

The best deals online are almost always in the final two days of the sale.

In all the sales we've studied, one of the most consistent findings is the deals always get better online in the last one to two days of the sale (al. Hopefully by the time the prices drop, our $10 coupons will still be valid for an even better deal.

Shop the sale early — then go back for a price adjustment.

Bath & Body Works updated their price adjustment and return policies back in Sept. 2022. Their policy now states that both online and in-store purchases are eligible for a one-time price adjustment within 14 days of the original purchase. That means you can shop the week before the Semi-Annual Sale and return with your receipt to receive the difference credited back to your original form of payment.

But certain sales aren't eligible for price adjustments.

Certain sales aren't eligible for price adjustments, including flash sales, select promotions lasting 48 hours or less, Candle Day, and email offers. So you'll have to make a return with your receipt and then repurchase the item at the new cheaper price.

If you buy online, you can't get a price adjustment in-store, and vice versa.

BathandBodyWorks.com is considered separate from your local store. Because of this, price adjustments don't work across party lines. Online purchases can receive an online price adjustment if you submit a contact form. In-store price adjustments require an original receipt.

Technically, there's not a Bath & Body Works clearance sale. But if you're shopping the Semi-Annual Sale online, you could think of the last two days of the sale as a clearance of sorts. This is the retailer's last push to get everything off the shelves. If you're shopping in store, you'll see discounts get deeper, but you'll also see inventory disappear, which is why I recommend you don't wait to shop in store.

What day is the big candle sale at Bath & Body Works?

Candle Day falls in early December. In 2024, it took place Dec. 6-8. In 2023, Bath & Body Works Candle Day sale was Dec. 1 – 3. The sale always begins eight days after Thanksgiving, on a Friday.

How many times a year does Bath & Body Works have sales?

In addition to June and late-December when Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual sales take place, watch for Candle Day at the start of December and Body Care Day about a week after that. Those are the biggies. You'll also find Member Appreciation sales in May and August. Truly though, the two semiannual sales are the best of the year.
