The Next 20% Off Target Teacher Discount Will Hit in July 2024 — Here's What to Know

So what’s offered during Target’s Teacher Prep Event? Target offers teachers nationwide a 20% off Target Circle coupon on their entire storewide purchase. You can use this offer on select classroom supplies, from crayons and markers to classroom storage and organization, tissues, hand sanitizer, and more. It’s one of the best sales we see for back-to-school shopping.

The next Target teacher discount for 20% off classroom supplies will likely start on July 14, 2024.

In 2023, the Target Teacher Prep Event started on Sunday, July 16, and ran through August 26, 2023. Based on these dates, we believe the next Target Teacher Prep Event will start on July 14, 2024.

During this time, teachers can claim a Target Circle offer for 20% off a single storewide purchase. That’s 5% more than what Target offered in previous years.

Teachers will have a full six weeks to save big on classroom decor, organization, desk accessories, and more for the upcoming school year, all thanks to this Target teacher discount.

 

The Target teacher discount is valid on one storewide purchase, online or in stores.

The 20% off Target Circle coupon is only valid for one-time use, online OR in stores. This means you won’t be able to use the coupon online AND in stores, and it’s only available during the Target Teacher Prep Event (happening July – August 2024).

You can also stack the teacher discount with your typical 5% off Target Red Card Reward for even more savings. But you can’t stack the teacher coupon with the Target Back-to-School coupon.

TIP: For next year, consider stacking your 20% off coupon with your state’s tax-free weekend to grab a little extra savings. Got extra Target gift cards lying around? You can use those too to save more on classroom supplies, too!

 

Once you verify your Teacher status, you’ll be able to save the Circle offer to your account.

To get the Target teacher discount, you’ll have to verify your teacher status online first. Once verified, you’ll see a 20% off Target Circle offer in your account. If you’re not a Target Circle member, you can sign up online or in the Target app for free.

Eligible teachers include:

All K – 12 teachers, homeschool teachers, teachers working at daycare centers and early childhood learning centers, university or college professors, and vocational/trade/technical school teachers with valid identification are eligible.

Here’s how to verify your teacher status:

1. Verify your teacher status on the Target website.
2. Once you’re verified, save your Circle offer to your account.
3. Your 20% discount will automatically apply at checkout on Target.com or in your Target Wallet in-store.

NOTE: If you’re not ready to use your coupon, be sure to uncheck it from your Target wallet. You don’t want to waste a good 20% off coupon on a small transaction.

TIP: If you’re a new teacher and don’t have your credentials yet, you can use another form of verification like an official document from your place of employment.

 

 

The teacher discount is valid on almost anything at Target, with a few exceptions.

There are select brands that you can guarantee to be excluded from almost every Circle offer, including the Target teacher discount.

Previously, the Circle offer for teachers couldn’t be combined with any other category coupon. Excluded items were electronics, backpacks, lunch bags, trial- and travel-size items, swim, sleepwear, Fan Central, clearance, and items sold and shipped by Target+TM Partners and Levi’s Red Tab.
