Petco is rolling out a bunch of free in-store events this February, and if you have a pet (or know someone who does), these are worth adding to your calendar.
From weekly puppy playdates to a free food tasting, there are multiple chances to score freebie deals without spending a dime — and a few deals that are worth hitting up if you're shopping there anyway.
What KCL Experts Think You Should Know
-
Free puppy playtime every Saturday is the best recurring freebie: It's 1 - 1:30 p.m. for pups 8 weeks to 6-months-old. Bring proof of vaccinations and that's it — your puppy gets socialization, and you get the chance to take photos of their playtime.
-
Get a free toy or treat when you make a purchase of $50 or more Feb. 21 - 22: If you're buying food or litter anyway, you'll hit $50 easily and score something extra.
February Events
Every Saturday in February (1 - 1:30 p.m): Take your dog to a free Puppy Playtime event.
As confirmed on Petco's website, every Saturday from 1 - 1:30 p.m., Petco hosts free puppy playtime for puppies between 8 weeks and 6-months-old. It's basically a chance for your puppy to run around, meet other pups, and (let's be real) for you to take tons of photos.
You do need to bring paper proof of vaccinations, but no purchase is required, and you don't need to be a Petco rewards member.
Feb. 21: Get free samples of Nulo MedalSeries pet food.
On Saturday, Feb. 21 from 2 - 4 p.m., Petco stores will offer a free tasting of Nulo MedalSeries pet food for dogs and cats. No purchase or membership is required; just show up during the event window at a participating store.
Feb. 21 - 22: Get a free dog toy or cat treat with a purchase of $50 or more.
If you spend $50 or more at Petco on Feb. 21 or 22, you'll get a free dog toy or cat treat while supplies last. This one does require a purchase, but if you're already stocking up on food, litter, or other essentials, it's an easy add-on.
