Since 2017, National Avocado Day is a time when restaurants celebrate avocados by offering free and cheap avocado menu items all day. Typically, that looks like free guacamole with purchase. Chipotle, Rubio’s, and Potbelly have participated in the past.

There’s no significance to the July 31 date for National Avocado Day, outside of the fact that summertime is the height of avocado/guacamole season. But no matter the year, Avocado Day is on July 31. In 2024, that’s Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

Chipotle: Rewards members get a free side of guacamole on July 31 with a promo code.
On National Avocado Day, Chipotle is celebrating by giving either a small side or topping of guacamole (regularly $2.85) for free when you use the code AVO2023 at checkout. You also have to be a Chipotle Rewards member and purchase a regularly priced entree item. This deal will work on both the Chipotle app and website. This deal can’t be combined with any other discounts.
Plus, they’re also giving away concert tickets through the Threads app, as part of their “Chipotle Get in the Pit” Promotion. Just follow @chipotle on Threads on July 31. The first promo code is TOTHEPIT. The 1000th person to text that to 888222 can win a pair of tickets to a concert of their choice. There will be a new code every hour, with a total of 13 winners.

Rubio’s: Rewards members will get free chips and guac with any purchase on National Avocado Day.
If you’re a member of the Rubio’s Rewards program, you’ll get a coupon for a free side of guacamole and chips (regularly $4.29) with any purchase. You’ll be able to redeem this coupon both in person with the QR code that will be sent to you via email or through the Rubio’s app.
