I’m always leery about registering for reward programs, and I know I’m not alone. Even though they are mostly free, there are usually so many steps and forms to fill out that I quit signing up halfway through. Or worse, I do join and realize that the promised “rewards” don’t have much value.
But the Walmart Gerber Baby Rewards program is an actual no-brainer. While my Keurig was brewing coffee this morning, I was able to register on my iPhone, and immediately got a $5 Gerber gift card for my next shopping trip at Walmart or Walmart.com. Note that you can use this towards any Gerber food purchase, but it doesn’t apply to formula or Gerber Childrenswear. Since my two-year-old loves Gerber snacks, meals, and pouches, I have no qualms about that.
The Gerber Baby Rewards program is free, and it’s worthwhile if you are pregnant or have a baby. Here are five things to know about it, and how to get started.

What is the Gerber Baby Rewards Program?
Gerber Baby Rewards is a new program that will help you save at every stage of your child’s developmental journey. After signing up at GerberBabyRewards.com, you’ll receive a monthly $5 rewards code that can be used towards any Gerber food product(s). Note that the code can only be used at Walmart stores or on Walmart.com. Emails also include recommended (but not required) products based on the age of your baby, which you provide at sign up.
5 Reasons to Join the Walmart Gerber Baby Rewards Program
1. It took me less than two minutes to sign up.
I went to GerberBabyRewards.com on my iPhone, and quickly typed in my cell phone number, e-mail address, and baby’s birthday. I got a text right away with a link to complete my registration for the program. I love that I didn’t need to create a password, download an app, or answer a ton of questions.
2. Immediately after confirming via text, I got the $5 savings barcode in my email.
I clicked the link and the instructions were really straightforward. It asked me to select whether I would be using the $5 Gerber savings at a Walmart store or on Walmart.com. I chose Walmart and it gave me simple instructions on how to use it once I was ready to pay.

3. There are no restrictions on what Gerber food products or how many you need to buy to get your savings.
The $5 savings works like a digital gift card, not a coupon. So it’s not $5 off when you purchase $15 of Gerber products, or $5 off a specific product. It’s essentially a $5 digital Gerber gift card, which also means you can stack your $5 code with other sales and coupons. Again, do be aware that you cannot use it towards Gerber formula or Gerber Childrenswear.
4. It’s not a one-time $5 savings for signing up — every month, you’ll get a new $5 barcode from Gerber Baby Rewards.
Since you get one every month, that’s like getting a $60 Gerber gift card every year. Each code is valid for three months, and you can use one per transaction. In other words, you won’t be able to use three $5 barcodes in a single transaction.
5. You’ll also get recommended products tailored to your baby’s age.
I still get emails from brands with discounts for newborns, but my baby is now a toddler. Gerber Baby Rewards makes note of your baby’s birthday and will send product info and recommendations based on their age. Since I’m a new mom, I like the idea of hearing about what foods and snacks are available as my baby enters each new stage of life.
