Tomato sauce is cheap at Walgreens, so here is a great recipe!

Hamburger Noodle Bake

4 cups uncooked egg noodles
1 lb. lean ground beef
4 Tbsp. minced onion
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
dash of pepper
1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese
4 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 Tbsp. thinly sliced green onion
2 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
2 Tbsp. sour cream
4 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese

Cook the noodles according to package directions.

Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook beef and onion until meat is no longer pink; drain.  Remove from heat; stir in the tomato sauce, sugar, salt, garlic salt, and pepper. In a small bowl, combine  the cottage cheese, cream cheese, green onion, green pepper and sour cream.

Drain noodles; place half of the noodles in a greased 9×13 baking dish. Spoon half of the beef mixture over the top. Layer with cottage cheese mixture and remaining noodles. Top with remaining beef mixture; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Cover and bake at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minutes or until heated through.
