Chipotle is giving away free burritos during the NBA Championship Finals, no matter which team you're supporting. This year, they're doing "Instant Freeplays," where fans can find a hidden keyword in a post on X for the chance to win a free entree during every Coach's Challenge.
This isn't the first time they've given out Chipotle coupons during NBA finals. Last year, it was when a player made all their free throws at the line. In 2023, they gave out codes when either team scored a 3-pointer. And before that, they hid coupons in commercials during the games.
Here's how to find this year's Chipotle keywords on X, how to submit them via text, and how to claim your free Chipotle.

Check Chipotle’s X for a hidden keyword — then text it to 888-222 for free Chipotle.

Whenever there's a Coach's Challenge in the NBA Championship Finals, Chipotle will tweet out a hidden keyword from @ChipotleTweets. Once you figure out the keyword, text it to 888-222, and you could get a reply with a coupon for a free Chipotle entree.
What is a Coach's Challenge?
A head coach may initiate instant replay review—referred to as a “Coach’s Challenge” or “Challenge”—under specific conditions.
Each team is allowed one Challenge per game and receives a second if the first is successful. Challenges may only be used to review three types of events: a called personal foul on the team, a called out-of-bounds violation where the team was not awarded possession, or a called goaltending or basket interference violation.
For more details, see the NBA's official website.
How many free Chipotle coupon codes are there?
The first 5,000 fans who text the correct keyword will receive a coupon for a free entree. One Coach's Challenge is allowed per game for each team, with a second challenge awarded if the first one is successful.
There's a limit of one coupon code per order, and you have five days to redeem the code after receiving it.
There's also a limit of one free entree code per phone number per game, but no cap on how many codes one phone number can receive throughout the Championship Finals.
How to Redeem Your Chipotle Coupon Code
If you're lucky enough to score a coupon code, you can redeem it in the Chipotle app or on the website for one free entree item. Eligible items include a burrito, burrito bowl, single order of three tacos, or a quesadilla.
Guac, queso, extra protein, and any other add-ons aren't covered. And you're responsible for any applicable tax.
