There are plenty of ways to save at Target every day, like when you use a Target RedCard or take advantage of their price matching policy. 1. Get 10% off everything in store or online with the Target employee discount.

One of the best Target employee benefits is getting 10% off anything in store as well as online. The discount connects to your Target account, so it will be applied automatically at checkout. It doesn’t matter if you’re a full-time or part-time employee — you’ll save 10% across the board.

Even better, the employee discount can be combined with other savings, like the 5% off you get with a Target RedCard.

2. The 10% discount can be used at in-store Starbucks, too.

In addition to getting 10% off all Target products, employees also get 10% off at in-store Starbucks locations. You can stack this employee discount with other deals like Starbucks Rewards.

With the wellness discount offered to Target employees, you get 20% off certain grocery health products. These products include fresh and frozen fruits and veggies, Good & Gather Organic products, All in Motion brand products, and Up & Up tobacco cessation products.

This is an additional 20% savings that you can stack on top of your 10% Target team member discount — and 5% RedCard savings if you have the card.

4. Target benefits include up to five weeks of vacation time.

If you’re an employee at Target who averages over 20 weekly hours, you’re eligible for anywhere from one to five weeks of paid vacation time per year. The benefits can vary quite a bit, both from store to store and by position and hours worked.

In addition to vacation time, Target benefits include:

  • Bereavement time off
  • Sick pay
  • Paid family leave
  • Short-term disability
  • Long-term disability

TIP: If Target is closed for a national holiday (like Thanksgiving), you’ll get paid for that time, too.

5. Target team members can apply for both health and dental insurance.

Employees can also take advantage of Target’s health and dental insurance benefits. For health insurance, Target offers two national plans and three regional plans with pharmacy benefits to cover medications. Plus, if your plan is through Bind or UnitedHealthcare, you get automatic coverage for vision exams with the chance to have eyewear coverage.

When it comes to dental insurance, Target partners with Delta Dental Insurance and offers standard and enhanced plans. They’ll cover 100% of any preventative dental work, as well as a portion of any additional procedures.

Like with vacation time, the list of who qualifies for these benefits tends to vary from store to store and by hours worked.

6. Target employees can get their college tuition paid for starting on their first day.

In August 2021 Target announced their plan to pay for over 340,000 employees’ undergrad and associate degrees, textbooks included, at certain schools. This tuition assistance program will cover both full-time and part-time employees and include certificates and boot camp programs. They’re also going to offer up to $10,000 a year toward employees’ master’s programs.

The “Dream to Be” education reimbursement program is available to both full- and part-time team members starting on the first day of employment.

Target also offers a traditional tuition reimbursement benefit that’ll help you pay for courses at accredited technical schools, colleges, and universities that are outside of the Dream to Be benefit network.

TIP: If you already have student loans as a Target employee, you can refinance with Target Credit Union.

7. Plus, employees get a free flu shot every year.
