There are a lot of Christmas movies and Halloween movies out there, but Earth Day movies? There’s really only one that comes to mind: The Lorax. But where can I watch The Lorax?

Whether or not you’re planning to watch this animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss classic on Earth Day, you’ll want to know whether the furry orange guy who speaks for the trees is available to stream.

So grab your Thneed and crack open a bottle of O’Hare Air — we’ve got all the places where you can watch The Lorax on Earth Day (or any other day).

(Looking for Earth Day deals? We’re all over that, too.)

You can watch The Lorax on Netflix.

If you’re a Netflix subscriber, good news — Netflix is streaming The Lorax. If you’re not already subscribed to Netflix, you have a couple of options to watch it now:

  • Ask someone you know to share their Netflix subscription with you (even temporarily) — before Paid Sharing takes hold in July 2023.
  • Sign up for a month of Netflix. Their cheapest subscription is their Ad-Supported plan at $6.99/month. You can cancel after that month if you want, but in the meantime, we’ll help you make the most of your Netflix access.

Rent The Lorax for $3.99 on Amazon Prime Video or buy it for $9.99 on Vudu.

Not wanting to shell out $6.99 for one month of Netflix to watch The Lorax? All of the major streaming video rental services will let you rent a movie for 48 hours for $3.99. (Since you’re probably using Amazon Prime perks anyway, getting the rental on Prime Video is pretty easy.)

You can buy the movie, too — but prices vary. You could buy it for as much as $14.99 on YouTube … but Vudu has the best price online at $9.99. And you get to keep it forever in your digital library.

Or you could watch the original Lorax cartoon on YouTube for free.

Back in 1972, the first cartoon presentation of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax released on TV. Fans of the original say it stays true to the source material. While it doesn’t have the talents of Ed Helms or Danny DeVito, its 25-minute runtime could be better for your schedule (or attention span) while still presenting the same earth-friendly message.

And if you want the original book, you could watch Danny DeVito read it on YouTube.

In the midst of the Covid pandemic, the official Dr. Seuss YouTube page released a video of the voice of The Lorax himself, Danny DeVito, reading the original Dr. Seuss book. It’s a 15-minute video and is totally free to watch.
